  1. I don't think that you have to be a groupie to believe that the last thing that is wrong with this team is the play of the QB. There is no QB in this league that could do any better behind this O-Line. The safety valves that could have at least helped the offense keep the chains moving in the short/intermediate passing game are either injured (Pitta), have been traded (Boldin), are playing hurt (Rice) or just aren't that good (Dickson/Clark).
  2. Geronimo has obviously been drinking too much of the Haterade.
  3. IMO he is doing a great job with how banged up the O-Line is and how poorly they are performing. Couple that with no running game to speak of, it's amazing his numbers are as good as they are except of course for the INTs.
  4. Oh well, I got to enjoy if for a whole week and the Ravens weren't even playing.
  5. That's the number I'm looking at as well. My grandfathers died at 65 and 70. My dad has already had a heart attack in his early 50s but is doing ok now. I don't hold up much hope of reaching my retirement especially if they keep raising the state retirement age. I'm trying to enjoy things as much as possible while I am young while still making sure my family is taken care of when I'm gone.
  6. When do you guys set your clocks back? Ours went back on Saturday night so games were kicking off at 5pm and 8pm yesterday. The flight back from London means you leave at say 9am GMT and arrive on the east coast of the US at 12pm EST.
  7. Logistics: They have a base in London for the home games and a base somewhere on the East Coast (might as well keep it in Jacksonville if its going to be the Jags) from which they travel to their away games just like what is happening now. They start the season with 4 Away Games and then travel to London for 4 Home Games. They then take their bye week before they play another 4 away games with the 4th game being a Thursday game thus giving them plenty of time to get back to London for their final 4 Home games.
  8. Crav, he owns Fulham which is in London. He can easily create a training base for the Jags with the land that Fulham trains on.
  9. Yeah Papa is correct. Why would we want another WR when we hardly have enough time to get the ball to the ones we have?
  10. Oh shit, the Bengals are going to chew us up and spit us out!
  11. Happy Birthday Dee!
  12. This was always going to happen when they changed that rule to lower the target zone. The defense was going to start going lower and lower to make sure they weren't getting called for targeting and as a result guys knees were going to get blown out. Would you rather have a bum knee or keep forgeting that you had a bum knee?
  13. You should just have worn it while you went diving for treasure Crav. Maybe next time your down there you can hunt for an O-Line and a couple of decent O-Line and run game coaches. That is worth much more to all of us than gold!
  14. Cam was too stubborn to call the plays that best fit his personnel. There was an interesting chart that came out during the offseason that showed route combinations under Cam versus Caldwell and it was night and day the way Caldy used the middle of the field with his possession guys (Pitta, Boldin and Ray Rice) compared to all the outside stuff under Cam. That was the biggest difference, fitting your personnel properly into your schemes. This season, Joe has lost the middle of the field with the loss of Pitta and Boldin and the stuggles of their replacements. The O-Line has also made it harder to get anything going. Cam is actually a good OC but sometimes he just needs to get out of his own way. He is doing a really nice job at LSU but then he did a really nice job here for his first 2 seasons so.....
  15. I agree Crav, Joe looks about Elite as he possibly can behind that O-Line and when the receivers finally started to catch some balls in the 2nd half the O got on a bit of a roll.
  16. Goose looks like he has lost a lot of weight. Or maybe black is really slimming on tv?
  17. I liked the decision to go for it on 4th down but not the play call. It wasn't even so much the 4th down play call it was all 4 play calls around the goal line that I didn't like. We have Doss at 6'2, Brown at 6'5, Clark at 6'3, JJ at 6'2, Dickson at 6'4. Could we not spread the D out and at least make them try to defend a jump ball situation. Hell you could even run out of the Shotgun from that formation if the D gives you the right look and Ray is much better at running in space than on a tight goal line formation. Max said it best about 1st down, you could see the O was going to run and you could almost pick where they were going each time. Every run seemed to be these slow developing stretch plays as well so the D just strung it out and then shot the gaps. The O-Line didn't play well but the play calling was just as bad. About the only successful play we had on 1st down came on a play action pass play excluding the late hurry up offense that had some success. Speaking of hurry up, what ever happened to using that to get the offense in rhythm? We look so slow out there. I understand the need to run the ball as we have seen what happens when we throw it every down (see the Bills game). But we need to do a better job designing run plays that work and mixing up play calling on 1st and 2nd down. By the way is our O-Line coach still drunk at the wheel? It sure seems like we can't figure out who is supposed to block who on a given play?
  18. How many points did Brady put up against the Bengals? It sure looks like he needs some help at receiver to me.
  19. Really? What I see from our offense is run it on 1st down. If we pick up 3 or 4 yards then have another go with the run and then pass it on 3rd down no matter the yardage. If we pick up 1 or less on 1st down then we pass the next 2 downs. If we have a penalty of any sort then the next down will either be a run or a screen pass. I don't really see too many 4 wide sets and when Rice goes out on a receiving pattern it's normally after a delay to read the pass rush.
  20. Either one looks better than what we had out there the first few weeks of the season. Even Doss is looking great. It's like getting cut was the boot in the ass he needed.
  21. AQ looked terrible in the 1 game he started ahead of Grad in preseason. I think we will just have to sink or swim with what we have and do something about it in the offseason.
  22. Crav, their pass rusher Dion Jordan slapped the ball while Joe had his arm back to make the pass. He still had control of the ball as he brought his arm forward but not entirely and it just came out like a lame duck throw. You could see it in his face as he was throwing that he knew he was in trouble.
  23. They tried to do something about it and the US didn't agree: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyoto_Protocol
  24. Why is everyone freaking out? We have 2 or 3 of these types of games every season. The O-Line always looks like a mess but they eventually get it sorted. I just wish we could sort out the stupid penalties. It seems like our guys come up with new ways every game to get a flag thrown on them. Some of them were crap calls but for once I would like to see Harbs chew out a player who commits a needles penalty and tells him to take a seat for the rest of the game. The personal foul penalties are drive killers.
  25. Whoever comes up with an effective Co2 atmosphere scrubber will end up being the richest person on earth. That said, the earth is likely to run out of fossil fuels to burn in the next 30 years so we will be forced to change whether we want to or not for environmental reasons. There simply won't be any gas, oil or coal remaining so that will help the environment until they come up with some other planet killer.
