  1. Nice one BB
  2. Poor kid was gutted when Leaveland drafted him.
  3. 2013 - Seems like a weak argument. He was probably more hamstrung by the OC than a weak running game/O-Line. 2014 - Yeah team would have advanced to AFC game with a better secondary but they couldn't afford it. 2015 - Forced to throw to UDFAs and 4th round pick because there is no money left to pay anyone else. 4 different OCs yes, but Kubiak was a good one and Trestman has kept the same verbiage and playbook. It's simple, when we are negotiating with Joe we need to go around his agent and stare Joe in the eyes and tell him to take less money so we can surround him with some more talent to get more rings. If he thinks that is a bad idea then we have to move on. He is not getting us back to the Superbowl on his own. Lets not kid ourselves here, Joe is still going to get paid handsomely but that extra $3m a year we save could help get a top notch WR or keep a good O-linemen.
  4. Everyone thought there was no possible way we would hold Carson Palmer to under 300 yards so there is always hope. However, I think we probably blew our load on National TV so expect a return to a normal Dean Pees D this Sunday.
  5. Have you seen the pocket Joe has had to throw in? If you could even call it a pocket. While the game ending INT was a poor throw, it was still the only throw he could make as he had to back peddle and throw off his back foot or he was getting sacked in about 1.5 secs after the snap. But then that's what happens when you have to replace the entire left side of your line during the game.
  6. I don't know. There is something in me that says Dean Pees will get lucky with a game plan and we win. When our backs are against the wall we seem to find something......and then look like shit again the following week.
  7. Jets, Bills, Saints, Bears, Texans, Rams, Broncos off the top of my head and there are others who might see him as an upgrade over what they have. It only takes one team to want Joe so bad they start throwing picks our way. That said, I don't see Joe going anywhere.
  8. Only started watching BB after it finished its original TV run. Wasn't hooked immediately but after about 3 or 4 episodes I just felt it was getting better and better. It's also one of the few shows that gets consistently better with each season. There was no sophomore slump like so many shows endure and it ended at the right time. By that I mean, it didn't run for too long and had u watching out of loyalty (I'm talking about you Supernatural) or it ended too soon without closing the story off and tying up the loose ends.
  9. No way we cut Joe. Some QB needy team would take him off our hands of that I have no doubt. I think it's simple really. We present Joe with the facts. We want to spend money on getting him some weapons and keeping the O-Line intact to keep him healthy. The last couple of years has proven he needs help. To do that we need him to give us some money back but we will sweeten the pot by guaranteeing more $ and extending his deal. Joe gets a long term deal, the Ravens get more cap space and both sides win by having a better chance of winning. If Joe doesn't want any of that then he is not the QB we want leading this team and we trade him.
  10. Article is terrible. No mention of poor coaching. We have got to make the move to another DC during the bye week. We can see what we have under a different direction between now and the end of the season before making a final decision on who the next DC will be (the in house candidate that took over or someone new). There will be times where you have a bad season for sure but the D has been on decline for years and Pees is the constant. The buck stops with him and if it doesn't then it stops with John Harbaugh and we know the coach isn't going to fire himself without at least exploring other options. At least we have the chance with high draft choices to replenish some of the diminishing talent on the team be it at WR, pass rusher and in the secondary but Ozzie and co will have to hit on the first 3 choices again or more and more fans will start to think the FO is past their sell by date.
  11. Dean is in over his head. Ever think we are inconcistent because you suck as a coach Dean? We have been on a steady decline since Dean took over. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/videos/videos/Full_Presser_Dean_Pees_On_Defensive_Inconcistency/c0103661-9f9b-462a-a955-c7e2566b6a7b
  12. lol, I was just thinking that I'm glad John isn't my doctor. John:"RM you have got 10 months to live" RM: "Seriously, what are my chances?" John: "You'll be done in 2"
  13. We have a long history of making 2nd string QBs look All World. I expect to see 0-4 but to have any chance this season we need the W.
  14. I don't believe Oz is the problem. I haven't agreed with every decision he has made but he has earned the benefit of the doubt. There is only so many things he can fix in one offseason. Perhaps he has relied too much in the belief that this coaching staff can develop some of the young WRs and secondary players in to world beaters and to date that hasn't happened. My guess is everyone gets one more shot to turn it around. It's going to be interesting to see what happens at the WR spot, Pass Rushers and secondary. Those are the 3 areas we need urgent upgrades.
  15. This thread gets my approval I just find some of his Defensive calls head scratching to say the least. How many yards does AJ Green have to get against the Ravens before you start to double cover him? Unimaginative and soft. Not a good combo for a Ravens D.
  16. Doesn't he do this every year? Then come December he looks like a 3rd stringer.
  17. A familiar pattern to last year is developing. It seems as if week to week one of the D, O or Special Teams alternate between looking amazing to shitting the bed. This week it was the D's turn to not turn up. I expect a Special Teams fiasco next week. Then maybe we will win a few games before the problem arises again. Play like a Raven these days means only turning up for 10 or 11 regular season games I guess. Is it too early to start my annual "Fire Dean Pees" thread?
  18. I always felt that the punishment for deflategate was influenced by a feeling of enough is enough. How many times were the Pats going to be allowed to get caught cheating without a proper punishment? Although not a major offense, this whole thing had the feel of a make up call and now the reports coming out reflect exactly that feeling. The Pats will be forever viewed as cheaters and their championships should all be marked with a * in the history books.
  19. I'm not too worried about the O. The O-Line actually has done a decent job when you look at some of the scrubs that had to play. Once the starters are ready to go (which looks good for game 1) and then the good depth is there in Urschel and Hurst we should be good to go. Joe has looked good and the TEs have looked good. Just need someone to step up from the pack of WRs behind Smith. The D on the other hand has me worried. The poor tackling is a worry. The lack of pressure from the front 4/5 is a worry. Our secondary and some of the poor coverage is a worry. I'm not a big fan of Dean Pees and if the play from preseason keeps up this should be his final season in Baltimore because the preseason D is not Ravens D.
  20. Yeah and then I saw him in a couple of games and he couldn't catch a kick off let alone a Pass!
  21. Can't tackle, can't get pressure, can't cover. It could be a long season.
  22. While not an excuse for coming out so flat on all sides of the ball, one commentator did make the point about game planning. There is next to no game planning going on for these preseason games and that Chip's offense is really hard to defend against if you are not keying on certain situations. Having watched a lot of Pac-10/Pac-12 ball I can attest that the passive game plan we had out there on D does not work against Chip's O. Man Coverage and being aggressive along the line (and with LBs) with shooting gaps is key. You have to get into the backfield and stop the play early. On a side note, what T Suggs did to Bradford is absolutely what you should be doing on every option play, hit the QB. 1 of 2 things will happen. The QB will get injured or he will start handing the ball off a lot quicker. Whatever the result when Chip is down to his 3rd QB in the game he will quickly yank the read option OR the option will be less effective if the QB is handing the ball off or throwing it a lot quicker because he is tired of getting hit.
  23. Ozzie is going to have a hard time holding on to all 3 when their rookie deals are up.
  24. You mean this guy?
  25. Flynn is a 1 game wonder. At least Schaub had a few decent seasons. I hope we won't have to rely on either for more than a few snaps of mop up duty.
