dc. Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Not sure how I feel about coming off a few injuries, but he's one hell of a pitcher. In his most complete season starting, he went 10-8 in 22 starts. But he had an ERA well under three. In fact, in his 8 losses, he gave up an average of 3.5 runs a game. Sad for the A's. He also used to be a long reliever and I like giving us some depth with a legit spot starter and reliever.
ForceEight Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 One of the better signings so far. The guy's a good pitcher and has been reliable for awhile. I think they got him to put behind Guthrie, but he could be a reliever just as well, so we'll see. Hopefully, whatever depression issues he had don't flare up again being a member of the Orioles. They also resigned Fiorentino and Hendrickson. Hendrickson got a ST invite, Fiorentino apparently did not.
millz58 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Nice; I cannot remember a year when the O's have been this active in the market, and at so many positions. I hope this is a positive sign.

dc. Posted February 1, 2011 Author Posted February 1, 2011 Well, his K's have never been high... which is fine. But his BBs are pretty low. Just under 3 a game. Far from perfect, but simply put: he can pitch.
