The Ravens agreed to a four-year contract extension with the star defensive tackle, the team said Friday, keeping a key piece of their defense after he broke out with a team-leading 13 sacks in 2023 to earn Pro Bowl honors. “Justin is one of the best defensive tackles in the entire NFL and a cornerstone on our defense,” general manager Eric DeCosta said in a statement. “We are thrilled for Justin and his family and equally happy for our fanbase. This is a great way to start the new league year.” The deal is worth $98 million and includes $75.5 million total in guarantees and $53.5 million at signing, according to ESPN, which first reported the agreement. It comes just days after the Ravens placed the nonexclusive franchise tag on Madubuike after failing to come to terms on a long-term deal by the March 5 deadline. It’s the third big contract the Ravens have handed out over the past two years. Quarterback Lamar Jackson signed a five-year, $260 million extension last April, while middle linebacker Roquan Smith signed a five-year, $100 million deal last January. This story will be updated.
