A catalyst for the NFL’s second-ranked defense, Reed posted 16 tackles, one sack, a league-high six interceptions, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries, including a fumble recovery-touchdown return as Baltimore posted a 3-1 record in December. In Week 14 against Washington (12/7), Reed earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors by registering two tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and a fumble return-touchdown in a 24-10 victory over the Redskins. Reed registered two interceptions in three of four games in December and totaled a league-high nine interceptions in 2008. The Pro Bowl safety helped the Ravens post a NFL-best 26 interceptions this season, which ranks second most in team history (28 in 2006).

In his seventh year from Miami, this is Reed’s second Player of the Month Award. He most recently won the award in 2004 (November). He is the first Baltimore player to win the award since BART SCOTT in 2006 (September).
