Steve Smith makes some amazing plays. It goes to show you we don't necessarily need a 6-5 WR, just a guy with the determination and confidence to make plays.

Agreed. These long spans of offensive ineptitude during games has been the hallmark of this team under Harbaugh and Flacco outside of last year. You bring up a good point about the timing of those scoring plays, so I'll drop the 4 minute criticism. My larger point about his ineffectiveness with the game on the line remains. Week 1 Den Flacco had the game winner dropped by Smith before he threw the pic. I don't blame him for this one. Week 2 Oak Flacco did lead the Ravens to a FG, but after the Ravens get the ball on the 37 yard line after a Will Hill INT. Flacco misses a wide open Steve Smith and the Ravens settle for a FG. Eventually that is the difference as Oak drives for a winning TD. This loss is on the D but this was a late game failure for Flacco (after an overall good day) Week 3 Cin: Flacco did lead the Ravens to a TD against a good bengals D. Conversely with Flacco has 2 minutes left and goes 4 and out. Week 4 Pit - Needs 2 missed FG to pull this one out. Week 5 Cle - The D blew the game in OT but after Flacco got the ball first. 3 Plays 0 yards - Punt. Week 6 Ari - INT on terrible throw at the end of the game.

If I were to place rank whose to blame 1: defensive coaching (i.e dean peas) 2: secondary personnell (giving up big plays) 3: flacco 4: offensive play calling Minus the name calling. I tend to agree with chyper on the point that joe has been a disaster in the final 4 mins. 1-6 this season with the game on the line In the final minutes speaks for itself. I understand in some cases he has gotten the lead earlier in the game...if he thinks himself amount the leagues elite when it's time to sit down at the negotiating table then he needs to come through at least more often than not at the end when the game on the line.

What intrigues me about bisciotti is that he has proven he will make a move based only on guys and in spite of logic or common sense. Did anyone anticipate him firing Billick when he did? If I recall it was right after he gave him a contract extension. Bisciotti' reaction to this mess is going to be super interesting. I think peas being gone is assured but outside of that I am very curious what he does with joe and harbs

I won't go as so far to say I was proud, more like not embarrassed. I do know what you're saying though. I think this was their best defensive showing since Denver. The missed tackles were still there, the blown coverages, but they played much better on 3rd Down defensively and it seemed like they fought harder. It was a much more respectable showing than the last few outings

How do we know it's not Palmer that makes those receivers good? Outside of Fitz they are no-names.
