  1. Game ball goes to the Defensive Line for absolutely shutting down the run game and putting massive pressure on Schaub. I knew that would be our strong suit going into the year, but the play this week without Canty, Williams and then Cody going down in the 1st quarter was absolutely insane. The depth we have is just unreal and the unit will only get better when they get healthy.
  2. I'm a little embarrassed I read this entire thread without a single person mentioning what is CLEARLY the biggest cause for concern for the Ravens right now... Our offensive line can't create any holes in the run game. Rice is averaging less than 3 yards a carry, while Pierce is doing barely better than that and only because he can always break the first tackle (which is coming in the backfield!) This team isn't going to get better until they can start running the ball consistently and make the play-action pass respectable. The defensive front 7 is superb and the DB's will come together. The WR's/TE's will look good once we start making people respect the run game.
  3. Very confused as to what happened here to make his injury that serious. I have a feeling this is their way of stashing him on the roster for another year, I wasn't expecting him to make an impact this year.
  4. First of all, it is ONE game. Secondly, it is their offense. They have to respect the run game and Kap's escapability opens up softs spots everywhere for Boldin.
  5. I've been pushing for Lloyd all summer but I just read that he is apparently reluctant to sign with anyone... Maybe taking the year off or about to retire? Cribbs was a guy that I was intrigued with when I saw he was cut, but they are saying he hasn't been the same since he came back from his last injury. Jenkins or Doss sound like the best options to me, but we don't have a roster spot.
  6. Gonna be tough to stop them but their D will be missing Miller and Bailey, we should be lighting them up as well, not going to predict but I do expect a shoot-out.
  7. I'm both saddened and disgusted that there are actually people who think the NFL did that on purpose with the aim of helping the 49ers. One of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard in my life.
  8. Betting they bring in a TE soon. DJ Williams of the Pack just got cut.
  9. Anyone on this board who thinks Joe has a chance at MVP needs to have their head examined. No chance am I putting any money on him at those odds, let alone thinking they should be better.
  10. Very much doubt that they will cut Cody, from all accounts he looked fairly good this preseason. Bryan Hall is the first to Tweet his departure.
  11. Agreed on everything. Osemele really just looked slow out there, I'm inclined to say he just had an off-night. Hopefully they rip into him and he comes out angry for Week 1. The line was very hot and cold. Either opening up huge holes or getting slashed up for a loss. Joe looked inconsistent as usual. The Kuechly interception was downright awful, he stared down Shiancoe and Kuechly was mere steps away, I have NO IDEA how he didn't see him. The defensive line played just like I was hoping they would, we have incredible depth and flexibility. That unit is going to be the best in the league this year and make our LB's and DB's look good.
  12. I saw Juice on the field split out as a WR once and I'm sure he was on the field a few other times but he didn't get too much action overall.
  13. I forsee lots of 2 TE sets, lots of Leach/The Juice, and a decent amount of Stokley. Jones should get the 2nd most snaps in the WR role though, but don't expect it to be a number that a typical #2 would see.
  14. Do you really think someone we traded David Reed for is going to be the #2 back?
  15. Jones is 100% a lock to make this roster. They would have cut him long ago and saved big money if they didn't think he was vital to the team.
  16. Delone Carter was a 4th round pick under Caldwell and should essentially be a better version of Anthony Allen. A big powerful back, something we could use as our 3rd back and also the body-type that can be valuable on special teams. He has started a few games in his career and while not incredibly impressive he seems like a good pickup for a guy we were going to cut. He was 4th on Indy's Depth Chart after the pickup of Bradshaw this offseason so that's why he was available for almost nothing.
  17. Why am I surprised that we are the best at this as well? So fortunate to be a fan of such a class organization from top-to-bottom.
  18. I can't find it now but I read somewhere that 1.5 Million is what they would have owed him anyway if they had cut him because of the injury, so another awesome move by Ozzie here to clear up a little space.
  19. These guys are as big of 'safety blankets' as we can get. Both were in the Bottom 5 (least) Drops last year at their respective positions and have the balls to go across the middle of the field. I actually don't expect huge playing time for either, but they did a nice job of getting Joe guys that he can trust on 3rd down on the cheap. Well done as usual Ozzie.
  20. PHEW. I was worried about Pierce, he's gonna have a big year.
  21. Never hurts when you're just signing him for the minimum, but we do need to make sure to keep giving the kids the time in practice. Can anyone explain why we'd sign Stokely and not Brandon Lloyd? (assuming Lloyd would take the minimum in this discussion)
  22. I just agreed with you that Flacco is a better player than Ryan and has a better contract. However, two bad contracts doesn't make one better, and to state 'stop talking about stats' makes you lose all credibility.
  23. St. Louis was forced to do that by the CBA and the rookie contract scale. That is the absolute worst example you could have possibly brought up. Flacco is actually getting paid only $600,000 less than Ryan over the course of the deal. Ryan does have superior stats, but he also has had Roddy White and Green, so I side with you on that argument. Romo is getting paid a few million less per year, a significant amount, albeit with superior regular season performance to Flacco.
  24. PLEASE consider CAP CONSTRAINTS when blindly claiming that teams would 'Give their left nut' for Joe Flacco. There are very few teams who would pay what we just did for Joe Flacco, and in a cap-contrained world, what you make is JUST as important as what you do.
