Sorry, I doubt a rookie can come in and replace Jones. Who is this Beckham? First I'm hearing of the kid besides to many other bigger named wrs that will be available at 17
That's exactly what it's all about, when your team gets hot. It takes 3 solid units to become champion, and they don't have to be top 10, even when we won the super bowl our d wasn't top 10, but our red zone d was top 5,
Bottom line is we traded 2 picks for him, then let him walk away. Ravens haven't done well in free agency or the draft since 2009, I'm not liking this pattern. And I agree that he should have been tagged then get a long term deal done before June.
It's not overpaying. It's using the tag to make sure you get to negotiate with him. As you said it's a weak lot of LTs out there. And if he's the best of the weak lot then we need him as protection of our investment at qb.
Not true, a lot comes into play in determining comp picks. He could go into camp and get injured. You'd be lucky to get a 6 for him. He might not play well out of the Steelers system. I know plenty that have left the ravens system and foundered.
I'm coming up on two years of living down here, and as you know florida is a college football state. They shouldn't have pro football down here. But, I can tell you every media outlet here is giddy with Kelvin Benjamin. That is one big kid, and the championship game with him catching the game winner just solidified every sportscaster thoughts on him. He is the game.
If they put Oher at LT. We are screwed, this non tagging of Monroe is puzzling, they could of tagged him and worked a deal, some team is going to be sitting on bis front porch at midnight on free agency night and he will no longer be a raven. And when that happens it's going to be raven egg on their face. I don't understand trading for a player to let him walk away 6 months later.
My only hesitation is the injury, it's the same injury that ruined Bo Jackson. And yes I'm fully aware he played well when he returned. I'm just Leary opening the wallet without seeing him go a full year.
