  1. Yes they can. Read the biography on Bill Parcells. He had a ton of injuries in his 2nd yr as the Giants coach and said it would never happen again. He hired a new strength and conditioning coach and it didn't.

So your saying that for the rest of Parcell's coaching career in the NFL, he NEVER had someone on his team get injured? Care to bet on that?

It was an interview the the dead guys family. They made accusations against Ray (who I still contend should never have paid them a dime). Ray has every right to answer those accusations when they are made. If he was never given that right it would be wrong.

I never said Ray handled it poorly. I have an issue with Kevin Byrne and his staff. That are not Ray. Also this is not a court. To my knowledge this is the first time the family has ever sat down for a long form interview.

Actually what happened in ATL happened 18 yrs ago. The reporter was obligated by ethics to give Ray a chance to respond.

I guess that's what this is all about. Ethic's. You have yours and I have mine. 18 years ago and you have to ask about it again? At your hall of fame entrance? What could have Ray said that would change anything about what we already know? Nothing, nada, zilch. So why ask it- just to embarass Ray Lewis? Uh, yeah.

    C'mon man.

  3. Then you don't think Ray should be able to give his side to an article?

It's my understanding that Ray handled this perfectly. He said NOTHING, and for very good reason. If this were a courtroom and the lawyer asked this same question, Ray's lawyer would have objected loudly. The Judge would have said, "on what grounds?" His reply would have been a simple, "asked and answered." "Sustained" would be the judges reply and he would have instructed Ray not to answer. So,Ray did the right thing in the first place.

One other thing too. This event in Atlanta happened about 12-13 years ago. This self serving reporter only wanted to stir up the pot of manure so he could get it stinking again. It stopped stinking several years ago. Ray just refused to help this clown stir it up.

  4. All in all, the Ravens will have an exceptional defense, an exceptional special teams, and an adequate offense. What do I mean by adequate? Enough to get the job done and score when they need to score. This is a greatly improved team from several years back when I mentioned here that the Ravens don't have any depth. That problem has been fixed, we now have plenty of depth. Lamar was brought in here to light a fire under Joe's arse and I believe we all see a better Joe Flacco this year. Afterall, he now has somebody he can throw to. Our O-line will be adequate, our running game should be a big improvement and and the defense from front to back is solid. Overall, I see a pretty damned good football team out there. That's why I told Max that we are going back to the playoffs. And with this overall talent, we'll do as we always do- become dangerous in those playoffs. It might of taken several years to fix, but I think the Ravens have finally done it.

OK- the annual Tornado prediction of wins and losses. 2018 Ready?

    11-5

  5. I believe you are correct about both of these men. Modell helped build the NFL, especially when it came to TV and Ozzie was just a damn good GM, period. Both extremely worthy. If Art doesn't make it, it will be because of the Cleveland fan base.

  6. The close up of the bust looks like Ray, but on TV, I thought they gave him the wrong bust. He looked like a white guy. As far as the speech, very nice and inspirational. Now, you can see how he actually willed teammates to win. I was proud of Ray Lewis that day. I beamed with pride like a proud father.

  7. Nice read Max. I can remember the first Colts game I ever went to. It was against the L.A. Rams and it was really cold blistery day at Memorial Stadium. First play from scrimmage, Unitas dropped back and hit John Mackey across the middle for about 30 yards. Mackey broke a couple of tackles and went all the way and just like that we were up 7 zip.

As far as this season goes, I got a gut feeling that we're going to do better than is expected. Playoffs baby.

  8. Good year or not, no team is going to pay Flacco $25 million after watching what he did to the Ravens. The only reason that they took Lamar in the 1st was to light a big fire under Joe's rear end. I think next year, Joe will be worth around 10-15 million a year. And, Lamar Jackson ain't gonna cut it- he's not the answer.

I would just like to know who on this team was the main advocate for Jackson.
