PITTSBURGH -- Now in his third NFL season, former Bowie State running back Isaac Redman has become a big part of the Pittsburgh Steelers backfield, starting five games and leading the Ravens’ AFC North rivals with 84 carries. But heading into Sunday night, Redman is one of three running backs the Ravens must prepare for. View the full article

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger met with the media Wednesday, about two hours after the team officially announced he would be out for Sunday night’s game against the Ravens. And Roethlisberger revealed that a rib injury -- not his sprained throwing shoulder -- was the bigger concern. View the full article

Quarterback rejoined Ravens' practice squadStanding in the Ravens' locker room today, quarterback Dennis Dixon could probably just as easily have been a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers' roster instead of having rejoined the the Baltimore practice squad. View the full article

As we await a week filled with speculation about Ben Roethlisberger’s playing status for Sunday’s AFC North showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens, it’s pretty remarkable that the latest chapter in this rivalry could be played without Roethlisberger, Hines Ward and Ray Lewis on the field. It will be the first time since the final game of the 2007 regular season when none of the three have been in the game. That day, Lewis was sidelined with hand and back injuries while Roethlisberger and Ward were rested for the playoffs. That being said, I think it would be foolish to count out Roethlisberger from this game until Steelers coach Mike Tomlin officially declares him out. I think we’ve all seen this movie before with Roethlisberger to jump to any conclusions. View the full article

Baltimore Sun sports staff talks about Steelers quarterback's status heading into Sunday's game against RavensAaron Wilson: This is a serious setback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger is the heart and soul of this football team, the escape artist who makes Houdini-like moves to extend plays and deliver the football down the field. He's tough, smart and talented. With unconfirmed reports out now that the quarterback has a separated throwing shoulder and is likely out for Sunday's game against the Ravens and possibly longer, this changes the equation dramatically for the Steelers heading into this AFC North showdown. Baltimore Sun sports staff talks about Steelers quarterback's status heading into Sunday's game against RavensMatt Vensel: The Steelers will probably string this out until Sunday night, but I think it's simple: If Ben Roethlisberger plays Sunday night at Heinz Field, the Steelers will win. If he doesn't, the Ravens will. More than ever, Pittsburgh's most valuable player is Roethlisberger, who is having arguably the best season of his career. View the full article

The strangest post-game comments Sunday came from Ravens Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed. He had a poor game against the Raiders and hasn't played well this season. He is in the final year of his contract, and was pulled from the game Sunday after three quarters because of a "stinger" in his shoulder. View the full article
