NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reports, per a source close to the player, that the Indianapolis believe Ballard suffered a torn Achilles tendon in practice Friday. The running back will undergo tests to confirm the diagnosis. Ballard is almost certainly headed toward surgery and the season-ending injured reserve list.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Saturday the 49ers feared Hunter suffered an ACL tear, according to a source. The team later confirmed that Hunter's injury is an ACL tear. The injury likely ends Hunter's season before it even began.
