dc. Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Added note - the prior post on that blog details the prosecution's seemingly intentional attempts to not share evidence with teh defense. Literally, up until the days before the second (second!) trial, they were holding on to evidence and police reports, such as transcripts of Adnan and Jenn's police interviews, etc.
thundercleetz Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Wow that is really interesting stuff. I'm surprised the podcast didn't talk about the evidence more. Or am I forgetting that they did? Pretty in depth post I haven't made my way completely through it, but I have always had my suspicions on the state's timeline. What a mess all around.
thundercleetz Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Looks like the appeal has been reopened. http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/bs-md-adnan-syed-appeal-granted-20150207-story.html
dc. Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Saw the appeal made it through, which is cool - though of course, its only on the grounds that his lawyer didn't offer him a plea option / pursue it from the state. At least it keeps things moving. The podcast didn't go into a lot of depth on the physical evidence at all - but they admitted that because so little of it existed and it wasn't really used at all at trial. So, I think they just didn't dig there - if things weren't tested, what could they do except report things weren't tested?
