Ravenmaniac52 Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 NFL.com reports Baltimore Ravens S Ed Reed is committed to playing football in 2010 following hip surgery, his friend and financial advisor, Brad Davis, said Thursday. Renowned hip specialist Dr. Marc Philippon of Vail, Colo., handled the surgery to repair Reed's torn labrum last week, according to Davis, and the safety already has started his rehabilitation. Very good news! Quote
REEDPIXOFF Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Great news. Why does it seems athletes always wait so long to get surgery? Couldn't this have been done in February? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 So you can miss camp because you are rehabbing. Quote
Guest BallTMore Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 So you can miss camp because you are rehabbing. That probably does factor into it. Quote
ForceEight Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Because no one wants to get surgery and start rehab immediately after the season is over. Everyone needs a break sometimes. Quote
thundercleetz Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 I heard Ed wanted to see if this is something that would heal with rest, but the injury ended up being worse than he thought and needed surgery if he was going to play. Quote
