ExtremeRavens Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 According to a source in The Castle, Pees is preparing for next season and there are no indications a change will be made in his position. View the full article Quote
tsylvester Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I'm feeling cantankerous, thus---- Elvis Dumervil, to play out of position on the other side. Because of his size, Dumervil was overmatched playing against left offensive tackles. He is over matched against most, if not all right tackles... Come on Mikey.... After eight regular-season games, the Ravens were ranked No. 25 in the league in total defense and they were ranked No. 8 by the end of the season. In Baltimore, the 2000 championship team and its defense will always be used as a barometer for other defenses here. There are certain things that defense and other great defenses have in common. All great defenses have at least one dynamic pass rusher and they can get consistent pressure with their front four, which allows them to drop more into coverage. Who did they have to play against as far as quarterbacks and passing attacks in the later part of the season, compared to the first? Got stats Mikey? Or just donuts? The Ravens' two top cornerbacks, Jimmy Smith and Lardarius Webb, didn't play up to their potential and the Ravens shuffled cornerbacks in and out of the lineup throughout the season. No-no, they did, Smith got his usual pass interference penalties, and burnt toast, & Webb got run over & run out of the stadium as usual. Hey Mikey, when you get the donuts, get me some jelly will ya?!?! To finish where the Ravens finished in total defense was pretty impressive. I'm still not sold on the secondary for next season and there has to be some changes made there as far as personnel and position coaches. The lack of communication and breakdowns were unforgivable early in the season. The Ravens might need to find players with stronger football IQs as well. You are not sold? Frankly, you should have a more assertive statement that the secondary is worse than horrible, I am sold; they stunk, stink.... The lack of communication was not just this past season, Mikey, it has been an issue now for 3 years. It isn't always the players, it is the coach.... But I like the Ravens' front seven, especially young linemen like Brandon Williams, Timmy Jernigan and Carl Davis, and linebackers C.J. Mosley and Za'Darius Smith. I think the Ravens' first-round draft pick should be a pass rusher, and then they need to find a cornerback. And if they do, they could really be on to something. I think you are stoned on donuts Mikey! Outside of Bosa, (and I have big question marks about him being a first round pick) there is not a "pass rusher" worthy of a first round pick, let alone a top 10 pick. Why waste a pick and money on a pass rusher who can be had later on in the draft, say 3rd, 4th even 5th round!?! If Brooks comes back, he has shown to be able to get his players to play above their talent level. I am sure he can keep on keep's on Mikey! Without wasting a pick.... The least of their problems is Pees. He is honest, intelligent and his players believe and play hard for him. Removing him now would be a big mistake, especially with linebackers coach Ted Monachino, Pees' planned successor, possibly becoming a defensive coordinator elsewhere. I think it's a good move by the Ravens to stay the course with Pees. No-no-no, Mikey, Pees is the most of their problems! His schemes, preparation and use of man power, not too mention his voice in who to draft, who to sign, who he can "get the most out of" are all reasons why this defense fails against the pass, late in games, late in seasons, late even for dinner!!! If Ted were to be his aire apparent, wow, we would have even bigger issues.... The players wanted Anthony Wright to start too Mikey, remember that? How did that work out for you?! Quote
