Mariners Top Record Season With Championship By Krystina Lucido July 25 the Mariners proved why they were one game better than any other team in the AIFA. In a brutal offensive battle between the undefeated Baltimore Mariners and Western Conference champs, Wyoming Calvary (14-1), the Mariners proved 'my offense is better than yours.' "It all started last year," said running back Isaiah Grier. "Last year, the playoffs, we lost. And we sat in that locker room after that game and we vowed that we’d all come back, stay together and do this right here."In just three years here in Baltimore, the Mariners managed to achieve a lot of firsts in 2010. In addition to being the only team in the history of the American Indoor Football Association to finish the regular season undefeated, they also became the first team to earn a shutout win when they hosed the Fayetteville Guard 59-0, March 21. April 24, also marked a historic finish when Baltimore beat the Guard yet again but this time by a score of 91-19. The win set a team record for most points in a game as well as most points in one half (59). http://www.pressboxonline.com/story.cfm?id=6453 Quote
