vmax
But....but....he's too old! Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after he recorded 10 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble in Baltimore's 37-7 rout of the St. Louis Rams, the team announced Tuesday. This marks the eighth time that Lewis has received the award in his 16-year NFL career. It's his first since Week 10 of 2008. The Ravens, who rank first in fewest points in the NFL this season, have taken this defensive award twice in the first three weeks of the season. Baltimore linebacker Terrell Suggs was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after the first game.http://espn.go.com/blog/afcnorth/post/_/id/32316/ray-lewis-named-defensive-player-of-week If you watch 1 Winning Drive you'll see Ray and Ngata talking on the bench with other players about the game in progress and what's happening. Ngata keeps telling them "just listen to Ray"..."do what Ray says"..."Ray's right"...Ray knew every tendency and what was going to happen on every play. yagersports
Hopefully they ensure to limit his snaps however. Similar to what Utah did with Stockton to ensure that he's ready to go for the playoffs or late in the season. I'm sure that even the great Ray Lewis gets a lil more tired at the end of the year than he used to get. Limiting his snaps a little, maybe 10% or so would probably pay big dividends in not only keeping him fresh but giving some young guys some solid playing time and experience.
