  1. The biggest difference, besides the horrible officiating, was the Titans offensive line got pushed around. In our game they pushed us around.

It does worry me looking at the Steelers schedule, it's cake. We really need to beat them twice this year or we could be 2nd place in this division again.

  2.

Absolutely, if you look at the stats, he doesn't compare to Reed in what matters, INTs!!!! Also, Reed scores with his INT's, something the hair doesn't do as well either. Reed changes games, the hair makes plays.

He's much better than Reed rushing the passer and in the box, but we don't need a safety there, we want him getting his hands on the ball!

The Hair is basically a smaller LB who plays safety. He is terrible in coverage and whiffs on a lot of tackles. His whole game is centered around a great pass rush giving him the ability to do whatever he wants. Look what happened when the Packers protected Rodgers and the Hair had to drop back into coverage. He was embarassed, that just isn't his game.

I think he is a solid player all around, intelligent, athletic, but not the best of all time the media makes him out to be. Product of the system if there ever was one.

  3. The line has been inconsistent at best. I will not fault Joe for not finding targets when he is running for his life but there have been many times this season where he has had time and could not find anyone even though people are clearly open on the replays.

Which replays? I have every game DVR'd, they hardly ever show what's going on down field. To me this is the best part about going to the game you can watch more than just the ball. Boldin is good but he is only one WR, Evans hasn't been healthy even when he is playing and behind him are a bunch of rookies. Our receivers are looking shaky at best. Ray Rice is leading the team in receiving for crying out loud.

I don't think Joe is an elite QB, but he can get the job done with a little time and a solid gameplan. It seems like those two things occurring simultaneously is difficult for this team.

You also have to consider with the Jets they do the same thing the Ravens do - make the QB uncomfortable as possible in the pocket. You could tell Joe was never really comfortable.

  4. Amazing what happens when you get a DC in there with some balls.

Mattison just didn't understand this defense. They thrive off hitting the QB, even if they get beat deep. Mattison tried to turn them into some technical react to what the offense does type defense. That's not our style, never has been. Pagano just gets it.

  5. ALSO, can we please get something straight. The Stealers do not have the best traveling fans in the league. The vast majority of Stealers don't even live in Pittsburgh! They aren't traveling. They are just going out in the neighborhood for the day.

Yea just another media myth. They love promulgating that one. Just like the Hair being the best safety in the NFL, pu-leaze. If he played for any other team they would criticize him for the things he doesn't do well.

  6. I'd like to see Joe miraculously develop the ability to look around the field and find open targets when his primary is covered.

In a way I am feeling like the 2000 season, in that having a once in a generation dominating defense is the only way I see us going that far.

Hard for Joe to do that when he is running for his life. This o-line does not excel at pass blocking, not by any stretch. The Jets have a solid front 7 and they were all over Joe. Hell McKinnie was even beaten by Maybin, the biggest bust ever.

  7. I remember when we signed him a Dolphins fan said on profootball talk that he was glad to see him go since he was a fumbler. It seems looking at his stats over the last three years he is averaging almost 5 fumbles a year. Not good especially considering he wasn't a featured back during that time period.

  8. I knew the Titans would be solid, they have a good team but never had a consistent QB. The question is can Hasselbeck stay healthy.

Cincy's defense is tough for sure, I really hope Joe can play well against them this year to get that monkey off his back.

  9. It wasn't pretty but it was one in the win column. Joe played well the first quarter then like crap the rest of the game. In his defense though he didn't need to play great with our defense playing like that. Speaking of our defense - wow. Our d-line played great, linebackers played great, even our banged up secondary was solid. They were killing Sanchez so bad he starting ducking while throwing at the end.

Favorite part of the game might have been the Derrick Mason chant from the crowd. Classic. It just feels good to beat those jackwagons like Rex and Bart and Derrick since they love to run their mouths. I am glad we got to shut them up again, a win going into the bye feels great.

  10.

Welcome to ExtremeRavens! I'm hoping that the defense is able to get to Sanchez, something they didn't do against Tennessee. The return yardage needs to be much better as well. Overall, I hope the week 1 and 3 team shows up and not the week 2 team.

thanks! It's good to be here.

I agree, our defense needs to get to Sanchez and they need to set the tone early. The Titans came out on fire and we weren't even smoldering. They dominated the trenches. If our d-line and o-line can play like they did the last few weeks we should win. I'm just worried with the Jets coming off a loss and knowing how much this game means they will come out fired up. Thank God the game is at our house though, that will probably be the difference maker.

  11. Without Evans it is going to be tough for Joe. We have to run the ball like the Raiders did to score points, and with all this talk about how the Jets defense can't stop the run they are going to focus on that aspect. I don't think this game is a sure bet by any stretch.

  12. I just don't understand how his knee couldn't have been healthy by that time. Who did his surgery Dr Nick from the Simpsons? He hurt the knee way back last July. He had a year to rehab. Lockout or not, that's more than enough time with modern technology.
