https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/lamar-jackson-im-not-just-looking-at-thursday-night-as-a-revenge-game The last time Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson took part in a game, he walked off the field in Baltimore as the Chiefs celebrated another trip to the Super Bowl. That trip was their fourth in the last five years, so there’s no question who the top dog in the AFC is at the moment. Jackson and the Ravens are going to have to knock the Chiefs off if they want to make it to the quarterback’s first Super Bowl, but Jackson said on Sunday that he’s not putting extra weight on Thursday night’s opener in Kansas City. “Any game I play in, I feel like it’s a revenge game,” Jackson said, via the team’s website. “I’m not just going to look at this game like a revenge game. Anybody we play, no matter if we’ve beaten them or lost to them in previous years, I just want to win.” While the playoff loss to the Chiefs adds some extra narrative juice to Thursday’s game, it is still just the first of 17 regular season games that the Ravens will need to get through in order to have any chance of reversing the bitter end to last season. Jackson’s answer shows that perspective, although it’s difficult to imagine knocking off Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in their building wouldn’t be a little sweeter than most regular season wins.

I am not sure what to expect, yes, the Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl Champs, again. But they have been living large this off season, Taylor Swift style too boot. How focussed will they be? Over confident perhaps? The Ravens had them in several games, but let them off the hook or gave the games away, mistakes, unforced errors were mostly to blame. They go into the game fully healthy, with a better runningback, more depth in the secondary, but, with a new, young offensive line and unproven edge rushers. It may take more than a few games, maybe some loses to start the first half of the season for this line, the edge rushers, to really get going. Still, a win would not surprise me, a loss would not affect as much, given the above mentioned. Who ya got?

Yeah I too was hoping Zape would be here. I sure hope they don't go after Huntley again, they already have a noodle arm on the team -

Yeah, at least Jones could run, similar to Lamar though not as fast, but a good practice squad bait for the defense to focus on. Maybe Leary is just a better practice qb and Jones not so good in practice? -

Yeah, baring a trade, I would expect Miller to resign after the start of the season so as to not have to guarantee his contract -

Cut downs due by Tuesday, tomorrow, 4pm It has begun Wide receiver Russell Gage was one of the first wave of cuts announced by the Ravens on Monday. Gage signed with the team on August 6 and did not have any catches in preseason action. The veteran tore his patellar tendon at Bucs camp last summer and missed the entire season. Gage had 51 catches for 426 yards and five touchdowns with Tampa during the 2022 season. He played 61 games in four seasons with Atlanta to open his career. The Ravens also waived wide receiver Sean Ryan, tight end Mike Rigerman, tight end Riley Sharp, offensive tackle Darrell Simpson, defensive end Tramel Walthour, and punter Jack Browning. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/ravens-release-russell-gage-waive-six-others -
Shame, I guess it should have been expected, an infection from surgery at his age usually wins..
-
Tough kid, he ran hard all game; he is a keeper. I guess Collier will move up the depth chart now, he too ran hard, showed well.
-
Wright broke his foot, Mullen, dislocated shoulder.
-
Some of them did, failed to hold blocks, or to even get to a block. But those were mostly guys just filling a game spot, the 1 or 2 starters on the line did well.
-
Meh, most of those players are bound to serve mixed drinks at the country club. Pass protection, save for one disasterous play where one blocked down instead of head up, was really good for those who needed to improve there. The return game looked strong.
-
Well the score was ugly as was the play of several trying to make this team in some way. Hope those carted off will be okay.
