  2. A good read on where the team stands and what they can do.. https://www.si.com/nfl/ravens/onsi/news/baltimore-ravens-face-lingering-salary-cap-questions-2026 Pro Football Focus writer Mark Chichester shared the salary cap numbers for all 32 NFL teams and how they stack up against each other. The Ravens are currently 17th in the NFL in cap space, with $21.9 million in cap space and an effective cap of $13.2 million. They have $12.2 million in dead cap, but it is not nearly as bad as some other teams in the league. While Baltimore would love to have more money to work with, it is at least not in the red. There are still some moves they could make to try to free up some more money in the salary cap so they can go after the big fish in free agency. It was previously mentioned that if the Ravens cut defensive tackle Broderick Washington, running back Justice Hill, and cornerback Marlon Humphrey, that would be $26.4 million in savings from those three moves alone. That would already put the Ravens over $48 million to work with. Another thing to consider is that the NFL's salary cap for each team is increasing to between $301 and $306 million for 2026. That would add another $20 million to the salary cap for Baltimore, putting the Ravens at about $68 million to work with in the offseason. That would give the Ravens plenty of room to put a deal together to get an elite edge rusher like Trey Hendrickson, whom everyone has been begging Baltimore to do. It would also leave room to sign other key veterans for $5-10 million per year in free agency. The Ravens will have to play around with the salary cap in the offseason, as DeCosta and Minter will be responsible for getting it right. With some moves already made, Baltimore could have a very busy offseason, with signings and trades.
  3. So this draft should be interesting, new, fresh eyes for a coaching staff, most of them former players, 3 former defensive coordinators, from the head coach, Minter, the defensive coordinator, Weaver, assistant/safeties coach, Volker, Not too mentioned another former coordinator, for the offense in Lombardi, a host of other young but experienced coaches like Faulkner, who has a great eye for runningbacks, and in teaching them, where he helped the Stillers find 2 excellent backs and bring out the best in them on a bad team. So, should we expect better players drafted? Yes, but also a team better coached, more prepared, and, maybe even better game management, something that has driven us fans nuts over the past 18 years
  4. This defensive staff he has created, man, with a few key players, drafted, retained, free agent pick up, they will bring this defense back to dominance
  5. Weaver back in the house, great move https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47808544/sources-anthony-weaver-expected-return-ravens-new-dc
  6. I hope so, very good defensive line coach, it would be great to get him back here And, no biggie, I understand
  7. At the link I shared, it is likely a Ripley's believe it or not one....
  8. He has always said he wanted to get back to coaching, he just needed a short break, or what he thought would be one.
  9. Ravens Interviewing Rex Ryan Favorite for DC Job: Report https://share.google/B93r7gkj1yjvBcCcQ They were or are going to interview him. Leonard already took the job with the Bills.
  10. At least Burrow won a Heisman because of his throwing. Maybe JJ will turn out, he had spirts, but I won't hold my breath
  11. Minter has said he will call plays, not the dc whom ever it may be
  12. Pessimistic at best, but we shall see. Rex may be in the running for DC, cant say I love that move if it happens
  13. Me neither, worse than Mark Sanchez as far as playing experience. Sure, they won, but not because of him, he barely threw a pass in college
  14. Per Espn
  15. I guess the writing was on the wall, afterall, letting Darnold, who played at a level worthy of MVP talk for the Vikes last year, not only duplicates it and leads his new team to the Super Bowl! Letting him walk, drafting a very raw quarterback, and planned to have him start... Yep, good bye
  16. Not only is his defacto defensive coordinator pissed off and wants out, but now reports in the Cleveland press are saying many players, high profile, are just as upset and a "mutiny" (their words) is on the rise. Poor guy, but everything has a price
  17. I got the impression that he will still hire a DC, but Minter will call the plays; continuation of "team work" he is installing
  18. A really good press conference, you can see thr spark in his eyes, the hunger, gonna stress fundamentals, team work, when you out those two together you get swarm, I like that mentality a lot. He plans on calling the defense.

  20. Oh but cant we "visualize" his coming here and it happen?!
  21. As mad/hurt/disappointed as he was, he may force them to fire him, and be free to move on some where. With that said, he was ticked off because he interviewed for the he job and didn't get it, the same happened here. So maybe he won't want to come here and instead go somewhere he hasn't interviewed for a he job
  22. From SI After a lengthy search process that featured multiple rejections and a slew of coaching candidates, the Browns finally landed their next head coach on Wednesday. The team announced that Todd Monken, former offensive coordinator of the Ravens, would be taking up the role vacated by Kevin Stefanski. That decision, it seems, is already having ripple effects within the building. According to reporting from NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, who was a candidate for the vacant head coaching role, was “visibly upset” after learning that he’d not been given the job. Pelissero reports that Schwartz went as far as to “say goodbyes” to people in the building and told other coaches that he’s “not coming back.” Schwartz has been Cleveland’s defensive coordinator since 2023, and he remains under contract through the 2026 campaign. He interviewed twice for the head coaching vacancy before the team opted to go with Monken. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Monken is open to the idea of Schwartz staying on as defensive coordinator, though that feeling may not be mutual. The Browns’ coaching search was a mess from the start. Multiple reports indicated that various candidates had pulled out of the running for the job––even those without prior head coaching experience, such as Jaguars OC Grant Udinski and former Chargers DC Jesse Minter (who took the Ravens’ job). Now that they’ve finally landed their next coach, that decision has seemingly fractured the locker room and could even lead to the departure of their defensive coordinator, who has been one of the most influential individuals in the building in recent years.
  23. I hope he doesnt keep Swartz, who was also in the running for their head coach. Would love to have him here
  24. With he had a better shot with a better org, their qb situation is a mess, their front office too.
