  1. Every quarterback has picks that didn't happen, just like they all have great passes that are dropped. What also isn't factored into the equations are the times a qb has to throw the ball away because of a lack of time or great coverage
  2. It goes to the way the media is today with players & "history being made". First player to do so & so on a Tuesday when it is 90 degrees out while wearing boxers instead of briefs
  3. Yes, things get testy at camp, especially when it is a joint practice. I applaud Nate for coming to his teammates side. However, throwing punches on a football field with helmets on, larger men, starting a brawl, is not the smart play. It is how fingers hands, wrists get broken.. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nate-wiggins-sent-inside-after-fighting-at-ravens-colts-joint-practice
  4. Per Jonas Shaffer, the offense picked up where it left off. Practice, Colts, but... Ravens’ first-string offense scored on almost every play early in red-zone period. Zay Flowers (end-around), Mark Andrews (catch) and Justice Hill (screen) all found the EZ. Offense fell into a rut afterward. Penalty wiped out a run TD, and a blown block ruined a shot at the 4
  5. Per PFF. I doubt many of their stats, but this one stands out as true as we all say last year. Having a running qb helps a ton, add in a back like Henry, and quick, speedy wide outs = touchdown more times than not in the redzone.
  6. Yes, Jeff watched the practices doesn't have an agenda. Preston likes to hawk around to talk with people to "prove" how smart he is.. he always has an agenda, a vendetta
  7. Yep, a head ache, sore neck, back, what ever gets you out of practice will holding in
  8. Preston is a boob, I've been at camp years ago, every day and watched Preston and some other media members sit around talking to each other behind the stands, out of sight of the field for hours. Only to then do a write up about how practice went. Take what he says with a grain of salt, I'm sure he still operates the same way...
  9. Micah, why arent you practicing? Micah" my back is tight" Jerry, why haven't you signed Micah yet? Jerry:"Micah has a bad back"
  10. There is a lot more at the link, on Urban, on how well Alexander, 2 picks, is doing learning the defense, in his own words: "Alexander had another strong practice and said he's about 90% of the way there with learning the defense. "It's becoming muscle memory now," Alexander said. On battling, wantingly, willingly, to battle with Hopkins "He's a GOAT, man. He's a legend in this league," Alexander said. "I always want to go against D-Hop. It's good on good."
  11. Andrew Vorhees hadn't heard Head Coach John Harbaugh's comments that he's leading the left guard competition, which was also reflected in the team’s first depth chart of 2025, until someone told him a day later. Vorhees approached Sunday's stadium practice the same way he had gone about all the others this summer. "It really doesn't mean a whole lot. There's the old saying, 'Rent is due every day,'" Vorhees said. "Just having that approach knowing that it could be lost at any given time motivates me and gives me fuel to the fire to push myself to be the best I player I can become."
  12. As the Ravens' holder, Jordan Stout has a front-row seat watching Tyler Loop every day. During Sunday's open practice at M&T Bank Stadium, 26,052 fans saw what Stout sees – a talented rookie kicker who seems to be gaining confidence each day. "You guys saw him today, right," Stout said. "He's pretty good, huh?" Loop was 11-for-11 on field goal attempts, including a 60-yarder that drew a loud ovation from the crowd. Afterward, Loop found himself surrounded by media in the Ravens' locker room, being asked about having a day in front of Ravens' fans. "Beautiful stadium, beautiful environment, I love the purple," Loop said. "The fans are great. It's such a passionate city for football." As the first kicker drafted in franchise history, and the Ravens' first new kicker since 2012, Loop knows he's being thrust into a pressure situation on a Super Bowl contender. However, he's simply focusing on getting better each day and not comparing himself to Justin Tucker or any other kicker. "Tuck is incredible, I would say he is the greatest of all time at this position and he got there by being process-oriented, picking his targets, hitting his targets," Loop said. "That's something [Special Teams Coach] Randy [Brown] and I talked a lot about. We're going to build your process, and we're going to stick to it." The Ravens waived undrafted kicker John Hoyland on Saturday, leaving Loop as the only kicker remaining in camp. Loop said Hoyland definitely made him a better kicker, and he anticipates seeing him have success in the NFL. But on Sunday, Loop took center stage and kicked lights out at the stadium. "He's going to be good. [His confidence] has got to skyrocket, right?" Stout said. "Overall, he's a pretty confident guy in the first place. I think he's confident now in the best way possible." https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/tyler-loop-confident-mt-bank-stadium-kicking-andrew-vorhees-brent-urban-emery-jones
  13. He has 1 or 2 more good years left, especially if Stewart works out. That will help him go against tightends, much easier to beat when pass rushing.
  14. I agree about the cap. But how many times have we seen a player get paid top dollar one year, then watch another player get more, only to have player A comeback a year later, 2 years later and want more? Maybe Jerry just wants to make sure his player is the highest at a position. I do agree, that team is soft, so much talent and even when healthy they cant win anything. Been that way for decades, since their last super bowl.
  15. Just typical plays by the players to get their money. Like a certain Browns' player who "wanted out" until he got his money... Jerry is playing this smart. Had he signed Mincah last year, Parsons would still hold out to get more money this year after the other ends got paid more
  16. He went back to camp, guess he didn't want to get fined....
  17. On paper, this may just be their best total team they have ever fielded. Now, can they stay healthy and play together, up to their potential? 4 weeks until the real season begins
  18. Yeah, Loop has clearly out kicked him both in close, save for a day of left bubbles, and especially in distance. I'm sure they will bring in another leg, no sense wearing him out.
  19. Brent Urban is back, good guy, may be on his last legs, but the guy never quits.
  20. More on how Starks is doing https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/news-notes-malaki-starks-reminds-zach-orr-of-a-former-ravens-pro-bowler
  21. With Rush at qb, a much, much better passer than any of the previous backups the Ravens have had, I expect some real good plays from the wide outs. He throws excellent deep passes
  22. One on how Starks is making a big impact and impressing everyone https://www.si.com/college/georgia/football/baltimore-ravens-db-kyle-hamilton-says-this-rookie-is-miles-ahead-of-where-i-was-01k161yz0kkf
  23. Baltimore Ravens veteran linebacker Kyle Van Noy thinks they may have landed a gem in the 2025 NFL Draft. Van Noy believes Ravens second-round rookie linebacker Mike Green is going to be very successful at the next level. "He's going to be really good," Van Noy said. "You can see the quick twitch. You can see the skills. These kids that are coming into the NFL, the skills that they have at the pass-rush technique, their technique is already really, really high level. Now, it's just getting the execution with the elite tackles. The tackles in college are going to be way better than the NFL; they're really good at their craft. So, you can see he has a bright future." Green, the No. 59 overall pick in this year's draft, is clearly very talented after leading all FBS players with 17 sacks last season at Marshall. However, he does have some off-the-field concerns. If Green can avoid being a further distraction, he has the chance to make an immediate impact as a rookie. Some even think he could put together a NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year-caliber campaign in 2025. "Winning DROY has proven extremely elusive for players picked outside of Round 1. DeMeco Ryans and Shaquille Leonard — both linebackers selected early in Round 2 — are the only guys who have accomplished the feat in the last 20 years," Dan Parr of NFL.com wrote. "Green is somewhat of a unique case, though, as he was widely considered a top-20 talent but fell all the way to Baltimore late in Round 2 amid questions about two sexual assault allegations." Only time will tell if Green can reach those expectations, but he seems to have caught the attention of some of his new Ravens teammates, which is not easy to do this early in the summer. https://www.si.com/nfl/ravens/news/devontez-walker-becoming-baltimore-ravens-camp-star
  24. Another good one to pass the time until the season gets here https://www.si.com/nfl/ravens/news/devontez-walker-becoming-baltimore-ravens-camp-star Training camps around the league are still in their beginning stages, but several Baltimore Ravens players are already showing they can make an impact in 2025. Second-year wide receiver Devontez Walker is among the five Ravens who have shined the brightest at training camp thus far, according to Ryan Mink of baltimoreravens.com. "The Ravens have had a good start to camp, so I could list a bunch of players here. I'll limit myself to five," Mink wrote. "So far, my top five would be wide receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Devontez Walker, running back Keaton Mitchell, inside linebacker Roquan Smith, and cornerback Jaire Alexander." It isn't surprising to see highly-touted veterans like Hopkins, Smith and Alexander as players who are leading the charge for Baltimore this season, but it is promising to see younger players like Walker and Mitchell catching attention. Walker, a fourth-round pick by Baltimore in the 2024 NFL Draft, underwhelmed as a rookie. Last season, he recorded just one catch for 21 yards and a touchdown. However, many believe he is in store for a massive leap this season, especially after making a nice play over former first-round cornerback Nate Wiggins. "Walker shined in the past two padded practices, making several nifty snags, including a touchdown over Nate Wiggins," Mink continued. It won't be easy for Walker to breakout since the Ravens have one of the deepest wide receiver rooms they've ever had with returning playmakers in Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman and Tylan Wallace to go along with the addition of Hopkins. But if he continues to show out, it will be difficult to keep him off the field. The same could be said for Mitchell, too. The third-year back has struggled to stay healthy, but when he's been on the field, he's been a true difference maker. As a rookie in 2023, Mitchell averaged 8.4 yards per carry before tearing his ACL in a Week 15 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. "Back to full strength from his rookie knee injury, Mitchell looks supercharged and has still stood out even since the pads have come on," Mink wrote. Only time will tell if Mitchell can return as the same player he was before his injury and stay healthy, but if he can, the Ravens offense will be even more formidable in 2025.
