The problem with what you said is it is pretty well agreed upon that the increase in injuries the last several yrs is from a lack of hitting. When your body is not under that punishment it is not used to the pounding. That is part of conditioning so I would say it does prevent injuries. Make it so that final drive the game was already out of the margin of victory. Score on offense and your D needs to be able to hold strong in the 2nd half.
