The ACC had the contract with ESPN. So since the Terps weren't marquee they were relegated to ESPN U. That is chump change compared to the revenue the network brings in and the other Big 10 revenues. Splitting $9 mil 14 ways is nothing. Splitting $100 mil 14 ways is real money.

The ACC aint paying anything so they left. When the Big 10 net work contract comes up again UMD will probably be making twice as much as they could in the ACC.

The NCAA screwed UMD and Rutgers by ending the sanctions early. Franklin will have them right in 2 yrs.
