  1. Jimmy's rookie deal ended last yr. With the new CBA they had the right to get a 5th yr RFA on players before the deal was done. He will be a 1st round tender this yr. I would ink him long-term ASAP. His value has gotten out of control with this injury. I would have inked him before 2014 to avoid this cost they will incur now.

I'm not quite sure what you are talking about. By "last year" do you mean the year we are currently in?

I never, ever want the Ravens to sign a player long-term 2 years before they have to. Simply not good business. We got burned with Webb and that was only one year prior.

  2. They waited with Webb. I believe after his 4 yr. One thing I will say about him. I have no idea why Harbs trots him out to run punts back. He did it a couple of weeks ago. You would think John would have learned after he blew his knee out this first time. It makes no sense.

They signed Webb long term with one year left on his rookie deal. I assume they will do the same with J. Smith (as long as they feel good about his health).

  3. You have to pick the guys you want as long term keepers. I said to sign Torrey long term before the season. After next yr I would ink Williams long term. He is be a perenial PB. He has heart and I do not see paycheck player written on him.

Like what they did with Webb?

  4. Can someone post a link to Papa's strategy post, because I'm not getting it. So far I have surmised that his strategy is getting rid of players before they get paydays, but not all players...some you target to keep. What am I missing?

That’s because the scariest man on the Baltimore Ravens is 65 years old,” wrote WEEI.com’s John Tomase.

That man is Defensive Coordinator Dean Pees, who used to hold the same position in New England and knows Brady, and his tendencies, very well.

“It’s a long shot [to beat the Patriots], but it’s certainly possible, thanks to Pees, the Harley-riding, piano-playing former Patriots defensive coordinator (2006-09) with a penchant for getting in Tom Brady’s head. (Not to mention his face),” wrote Tomase.

“Pees knows the key to slowing Brady isn’t with obscure blitzes or fancily disguised coverages. It’s with four-man pressure up the middle, because Brady likes to step up in the pocket when rushed. He murders teams that send extra men on the blitz. … It’s all about keeping Brady uncomfortable, and this time around, Pees’ pass rush will be paramount, because his injury-riddled secondary is porous and does not tackle particularly well.” http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Late-For-Work-17-Boston-Movie-Star-Ben-Affleck-Is-Terrified-Of-Ravens/dea4123f-5893-4bcd-af10-d14f952bdfcb

Four man pressure up the middle? Right up our alley :yeah:

  6. I think there is entirely to much group think in th eNFL. I am starting to think Seattle has that killer instinct. When a plan doesn't work they cut ties. We will see what they do as their young talent gets to FA.

Well...they only have 1 SB thus far, and according to your plan it's time for them to cut ties with Wilson.

  7. This team could have 3-5 SB titles right now had they had a different org philosophy. If you have the killer instinct to exploit your opponent you will be more successful than your opponent.

So what you are saying is no organization in the NFL even comes close to having a "killer instinct".

You are living in fantasy land.

  8. I have two simple questions. What team has been more successful than the Ravens since 2008 (when Harbaugh and Flacco came in)?

Why on earth would Bisciotti want to change one god damn thing about this organization's philosophy???

  9. No you don't. You trade guys who have value as they are ready to get their big paydays and build picks up.

No you don't??? I'm telling you what the ridiculous plan was to part ways with Joe and bring in our savior Manziel. What the hell are you saying "No you don't" to?

  10. Why would you need to throw a season for him? I knew he would not be #1. I also still think he can be great but he has to dedicate himself to the game.

This was after his freshman year (which corresponded to when we were offering Joe his contract). Now that I think about It, it was more about giving up the farm in draft picks to move up for him and not throwing a season per say...although I believe part of the grand plan was bringing in some journeyman vet to hold down the starting job until our savior arrived (maybe Delhomme???).

I now remember the poster was GeRastamo.

  11. Or the Ravens could do when they see a shiny apple on the horizon what Indy did and eat the season. Do the full rebuild and accumulate every pick they can get.

I remember when a couple individuals wanted us to throw a season so we had a chance to draft Manziel.

Why on earth would you think this team needs a "full rebuild"?

  12. Then some people should stop pointing out that all Joe does is win. There are some QB's who can carry a team. Just like there are some RB's who can ie Peterson a couple of yrs ago. Megatron has carried Detroit. Thye are special players who deserve the lions share of the cap. If you have to do it via a system and nobody is carrying the team then everyone should make commensurate money.

If you don't think Joe and Luck should be compared then you should talk to Crav about that. He brought Andrew into the conversation.

For the most part, people only bring up Joe's wins when his detractors bring up his stats. As far as players' compensation goes...players are worth what the market says they are worth.

  13. That is my very point. Joe is a system guy and Luck can carry a team. That chart infers that Joe has carried the team in the PO's.

Joe is certainly more than a "system guy". Saying that he isn't Luck isn't saying a whole lot since very, VERY few are. Yes, he's inconsistent in the regular season. Yes, he struggled in the playoffs his first couple years in the league (not really unusual). He's been money in the postseason ever since though.

BTW...I'm a little tired of the "team game" point being said ad nauseam. That is the case with every single QB that has ever played this game. Peyton has never won a game by himself. Brady has never won a game by himself.

  14. So that would mean you think Joe Flacco is the third best QB in the league. Better than Manning, Brady, Rothlesberger, Wilson etc. And you wonder why I so easily can call you a tard.

You have the reading comprehension of a monkey.

  15. You do realize there is more than scores and INT's? How about all his 3 and outs. Actually they are not all his fault but a total offensive meltdown usually in the 1st half but he is part of that. He has some bad accuracy issues many times. If he would lead his WR's they could get to the markers but they have to play gymnast to get theri hands to the ball eliminating their momentum.

You mean he isn't perfect? Thanks for the breaking news. There's still only two QBs I would rather have on the Ravens (at this point in their careers) and that's Rodgers and Luck.

  16. You have to make it to the PO's first. Also he has not always been great in the PO's. Also shouldn't he perform in the 1st half?

Really? I know 6 out of 7 years isn't perfect, but c'mon man!

Aside from his first 2 years in the league...Joe has been money in the postseason (20tds, 2ints).

  17. You're tap dancing and lying again. My answer's always the Ravens - your answer is always Joe Flacco. Now you're a lying retard.

I'm not sure who exactly you think you are fooling. Everyone knows your schtick...just own it.
