It was Day 1 of full training camp practice at the Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills, Md., giving onlookers the first chance to get impressions of the team. Here are some highlights and notes:

FIRST TOUCHDOWN The first touchdown of training camp wasn’t registered by the offense, but the defense. Cornerback Lardarius Webb stepped in front of a Joe Flacco pass intended for wide receiver Anquan Boldin on the third play of full-team drills and returned the interception at least 30 yards to the end zone.

Left tackle Bryant McKinnie and Pro Bowl defensive tackle Haloti Ngata are not on the field for the Ravens’ first full-squad training camp practice. The reason for both is unknown.

A half hour into the first full-squad practice of training camp, there is no sign of Pro Bowl defensive tackle Haloti Ngata or offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie. Of course, we will let you know if that should change. And we'll try to get an explanation from Ravens head coach John Harbaugh when practice wraps up around 5 p.m.

Coaches over the years have told Ray Lewis, “The later you get, the lighter you play.†Lewis has taken that advice this offseason in a major way. Arriving at Ravens training camp for his 17th season in jeans and a white polo, Lewis looked slimmer than when he left. He may even be slimmer than he was during minicamp in mid-June.

A day after head coach John Harbaugh told reporters the Ravens had multiple free agent outside linebackers in for workouts, on Wednesday the team signed veteran linebackers Ricky Brown and Darryl Blackstock, who both played for the Oakland Raiderslast season. Brown and Blackstock are expected to add competition and additional depth to the linebacker corps.
