Longtime Baltimore Colts and Ravens fan Jim Phillips will be laid to rest Saturday following a service at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown. Phillips, 81, was a huge part of the fiber of Baltimore football, almost as much as some of the former Colts and current Ravens greats.

Two big figures for the Ravens may be returning to practice very soon. Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb boasted during the offseason that the Ravens have the best secondary in the NFL, and he isn't backing off that claim today. Many of his buddies in the secondary, including cornerback Cary Williams and strong safety Bernard Pollard, have gotten his back, too, when asked for a reaction to Webb's comments.

IN A HURRY: In a simulated scrimmage near the end of Thursday’s practice, starting quarterback Joe Flacco took the Ravens 80 yards on four plays. He hit tight end Ed Dickson up the seam for a nice gain then connected with wide receiver Torrey Smith on the next play. After another grab by Dickson moved the Ravens to the 10-yard line, Smith cut inside then beat cornerback Cary Williams back outside to the left sideline for a touchdown grab in the end zone.
