  1. Think they'd give me a little ole 300,000 to bail me out?

Yeah, I could use some coin.

Come to think of it... I could drive down to Tennessee for next week's game if we win. It's only a 4 hour drive and they've got my favorite bar of all time - the Beer Sellar.

  2. And the trend continues as rookie QBs have a hard time winning playoff games, especially on the road. Today it was Matt Ryan, the offensive rookie of the year. Tommorrow it is Flacco. Welcome to the playoffs where 77.7% of rookie qbs lose their first playoff games. Rest well Mr. Flacco--tommorrow you learn a valuable lesson. Enjoy the show.

Did you update your formula for Ryan's loss?

  3. I don't why I am responding to your nonsense, but I just happen to know all about the good schools in Baltimore and St. Louis. My niece and nephew now go to school near Towson and moved last year from Ladue schools.

    Miami 13; Ravens 10

Ladue ain't St. Louis. Ladue is one of the wealthiest suburbs in St. Louis County.

St. Louis city schools are in shambles. But I'm sure you knew that.

(Is public school trash talk before a game a new low?)

  4. Crammed into the shabby visitors locker room in the Meadowlands, swapping “AFC East Champions” swag and soaking in the blaring hip-hop, Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter said the playoff berth was especially sweet “with all the [expletive] we went through last year with Cam Cameron [and] whatever he was trying to do.”

“We all deserve this,” chirped linebacker Channing Crowder. “We all went through 1-15. We all went through Cam Cameron’s [expletive]. We needed someone [like Bill Parcells] to come in and be like this. … The guys that’s been through all the BS down in Miami with all the coaching changes and the quarterback controversy, all that. They brought in a real quarterback, a real coach. They got rid of what’s his name, Cam, just started rolling, and now we’re loving it.”

Alright, guys. This should be all we need. Porter and Crowder (who?) just gave us all the bulletin board material we need. You know Ray Lewis and company are going to go to WAR for Cameron and the team. Thanks for waking the sleeping giant!

  5. Just getting here is awesome enough for me. This team has met and far exceeded my expectations -- anything in the post-season is just gravy.

I think we'll beat Miami. We haven't played down to our competition and have handled the teams that we need to with relative ease. Tennessee may be a different story, but I really like our chances this time around.

And I'd love a shot at Pissburgh again. Especially when it really counts.

  6. Thats right beck, Ive never paid for an autograph.

I agree -- you're paying their salaries by attending games, merchandise and the sweetheart TV deals the NFL scores because of the fans. No need to charge unless it's for charity...

  7. Ryan was a lot better than Flacco statistically, and Clady was by far the best lineman out of the draft. I think it's fair.

Give Flacco the 24th ranked SoS and Ryan the 4th hardest SoS and we'll see who's got better numbers. All things being equal, though, Ryan was going to win by virtue of hype factor.

I have a feeling that Flacco just doesn't give a shit. He's just going to win.

  8. Word on the street in STL is that the Rams players really want to play of Haslett for a full season. I wouldn't be surprised if they kept him around for 2 years as a transition coach before bringing in a "face of the franchise"-type coach once the team is decent.

But if Rex came to STL, I'd meet him at the airport and personally show him around. :D

  9. Bart won't be back. Sorry, he just won't. We have too much talent coming up behind him (and the others) and his play and his attitude are not quite fitting with Harbaugh right now.

It's a hard pill to swallow because as fans, we really get attached to players. But Ozzie knows what's best, and of the three, I'd be willing to bet that Bart is the most expendable.

We'll see him again, though - when he's wearing an orange helmet.

  10. I got the 2000 season playoffs on DVD, and I just finished watching the Titans game in the divisional round.

2000 was the season he emerged as a starting receiver (he was already KR/PR), because Thigpen was injured. In that game, he was injured twice (helmet to helmet hit and awkward leg landing) and came back into the game both times.

The guy is a tough player, and I think we've definitely overlooked that over the last four years.

True, but the dude was running routes with one flap, and he crumpled like a sack of potatoes after big contact against Dallas. I'm sure he'll be pumped full of cortisone to minimize pain, but he's going to take some serious licks if he tries to cross the field. I'm not saying that he should only run sideline routes, but this - of all games - is the one for Clayton and Heap to step up to take the heat off of Mason.

  11. Oh, and let's not also forget how different the season would be with some of our injured starters. Buddy Lee would have torn up the Steelers. He would have torn up the Titans... If we win two of those three games, we're sitting very, very pretty.

  12. For the record, I hope we jump out to a VERY early lead and only use Mason as a decoy until we can take him out of the game. I DO NOT want to see Mason hit and injured on the last game of the season before a (hopefully) deep playoff run.
