  1. You know, stop it with all of the Ryan vs. Flacco thing. They are both fine QBs, and, with the exception of injury, should both do well in the coming years. Ryan will probably win ROTY, but that is only because all of the attention Atlanta got after the Vick scandal, and their recovery from it. Sure, you could say that they're beating easy teams, but then again, what powerhouses have Flacco beat? The Colts? Giants? Steelers? Titans? No. None of them. So stop. Now.

Sorry we struck a nerve. :P

  2. Haha! Cowher whining that the Titans are poor sports because Lendale stomped on the terrible hankie! Boo fucking hoo!

I'm glad Boomer called him out for when Cowher made fun of the Bengals "Who-Dey" chant.

Seriously, I'm pissed now. Fuck those crybabies!

I lived with a guy who had a terrible towel. The shit of it was he was actually a chiefs fan.

The stuff I did to the towel when he wasn't around would make truckers blush. I fucking hate those rags.

  3. Hey Steve, we going back to Indy

I don't know 1) if I could afford tickets - we'd be swimming upstream against a legion of bandwagoners; 2) if I'd be in any state to drive home the 4 hours if we didn't win.

Of course, seeing Flacco, McClain, McGahee and the defense pick apart the Colts in the playoffs would be priceless.

  4. It might, KC has been playing pretty well lately, and the game is in Arrowhead. However, the Jets are playing the Seahawks tonight. :P

The Jets play Miami next week, and the Pats are playing the Bills. If Miami loses today, and beat the Jets next week, we are in regardless of what we or New England do. Nevertheless, next week looks like a must-win for us.

I was at the game in Camarohead a few Decembers ago where the Ravens beat the Chiefs... a Chiefs fan friend of mine told me that KC hasn't lost at home in December in like 7 seasons (until us, of course).

So who knows, maybe it'll happen?

(and I hope that post made sense. nursing a hangover and watching cheeseburger white rush in a TD)

  5. This warmed my heart:

Baltimore (10-5) turned Dallas owner Jerry Jones’ hope for a homecoming event into a wake. It was Jones who, according to stories going around the NFL, requested of the league that Baltimore be the visiting team in this game rather than one of the “tougher” teams such as the New York Giants, Philadelphia or Washington.

But by the end, Jones was gripped with quiet anger as he watched the final two minutes tick away. So much so that when a friend tried to console him, Jones walked away, preferring to find any spot of solitude in the cavernous home of some of the NFL’s greatest moments and teams.

  6. If NE loses we basically clinch. The only reason we don't clinch is if Jets and Miami Tie next week, than they both are in, and the Ravens are left out.

There's no way that the Cardinals will win. They're a one-and-done playoff team -- what a joke. The NFC West sucks.

  7. I'm finally getting around to watching the game for the first time and one of things I've noticed is that T.O. is running "pouty routes" -- half-assing it, jogging, et cetera.

If I'm Wade, or (God Forbid) Skeletor Jones, I'm sitting down that worthless piece of shit and telling him that there's a guy on the other team who's playing his ass off with one arm. He's not bitching. He's not crying. He's quietly putting together one of the guttiest football performances in the league this season.

T.O. may think he's God's Gift to football, but he's a whiny crybaby with alligator arms who drops waaaay too many passes to complain about not getting the ball. I'm glad we stomped those douchebags in their house. I hate the Cowboys.

  8. I get to watch the game for the first time... I had to follow it on my phone. I was at my inlaws house for a Christmas Party and they didn't have a cable provider that carried the NFLN.

So, thanks to TiVo, I get to watch the slaughter. :D

  9. Okay, for the record, I fucking hate the Cowboys.

I hate the "America's Team" nonesense.

I hate how everyone you know has a friend who doesn't know dick squat about football, but is a Cowboys fan.

    I hate Texas.

I hate how even Cowboys fans can't name players outside of the "stars", when fans of nearly every other team can tell you who the longsnapper was in any given year.

I hate how ESPN strokes off about the NFC East (and Brett Favre).

I fucking hate the hype, too. It's ok for them to have down years, but don't manufacture excuses for shitty football.

  10. Amen. Its them or Tennesse and the Stealers are peaking right now, the Titans are not.

More importantly, we are a big receiver, a McGahee less offense, and a fortified pass defense away from being at the next level. I think we can accomplish that during the offseason.

Walker in his second year in the defense, plus a drafted WR, plus addition by subtraction (Willis) should be all we need.

I'm sure we can get what we need in the draft. Fortify the secondary, get a big-play WR and maybe a big 'ole DE. I trust Ozzie will rock the draft.

  11. Personally, I think this loss will be great for our playoff lives. The pressure is on us now and we have notin to lose anymore. Flacco and the playcalling has been shitty at home all yr, so when we make playoffs we will be on the road, where flacco plays much better.

    I smell a super bowl.

    I'll have what you're having. :D

  12. Who's DJ Gallo?

To me he's just a cheap whine.

That's just sorry reporting and research.

With 2 games to go, the Stealers D is already 27 points surrendered above the Ravens record of 165.

Early in the year when the Titan D was smoking, some writer put up an article that they could be the best ever. He pointed out their low point's surrendered...that they wouild smash the Ravens record. They are doing good, but they have yielded 32 more points than the 165 of the 2000 Ravens D...with 2 more games to go.

That record speaks for itself. There is no greater measeurement for the effectiveness and dominace of a defense than points surrendered.

They are not even in the 165 ballpark.

They might be #9 or 10...if they win the SB.

No shit. My take is the total points surrendered, too. 165 points means that you don't run into FG Range and grab 3 points. You don't let people score often, or even at all.

Have the Steelers pitched 4 shutouts this season? Nope. But the 2000 Ravens did. That's dominance.

Don't get me wrong, this Steelers team is good, but they're not the 2000 Ravens. Anything you read to the contrary is to help sell papers.

  13. The intended ball targets also had a case of the dropsies. If McClain catches the ball instead of trying to make a break for the end zone first, it's a different game.

There were an awful lot of woulda, couldas in the game. Unfortuantely, we came out on the shit-ass end of the stick.

  14. He didn't have help, either.

Rookie QB, playing the Stealers, minus 1.5 of your two RBs, etc. I don't blame him. He didn't help, but the only throw that hurt was the poor interception (the one Townsend nearly picked when Mason was drilled was a bad throw, too), but he didn't make the inexcusable play that cost us the game.

I just can't really pin it on him. He made a lot of good throws that he got NO help with.

Exactly. Willis had some stone hands again today... and we had a lot of drops as a group.

I think we're one 6'2" WR away from being really competitive. That, and I'd like to see Clayton run some timing routes... with his speed, a quick pass could grab 5 - 10 yards, easy.

  15. I'm f*cking sick of hearing Stealers fans saying that they're not getting any respect and are disgusted that they aren't favorites to outright win.

Fact: Winning on the road is hard. Winning at the ATM is harder. I don't care who you are - you're ice skating uphill.

But hey, if the Stealer fans need the respect angle to get hyped up for a game, more power to 'em.

  16. I have supreme confidence in the coaching staff to make sure that Joe is adequately game planned for all the stuff the Pittsburgh D is going to throw at them. Harrison scares the hell out of me - that dude can bring some serious pain. But if we can hit all of our assignments and give Joe Cool more time to scan the field, I think we'll have a very fun afternoon.

This is a QB duel. Neither team is going to run on each other - we know that. It's going to come down to which QB can make the fewest mistakes.
