papasmurfbell Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/08/25/ravens-cut-visanthe-shiancoe/ When veteran tight end Visanthe Shiancoe signed with the Ravens, just a day after starting tight end Dennis Pitta went down, it appeared to be a good fit.But it wasn’t. The Ravens announced on Sunday that they have released Shiancoe. The 33-year-old Shiancoe had a solid career with the Giants and Vikings, but he may have reached the end of the line. Last season he played just four games for the Patriots and never caught a pass, and now he’s on the street again. The Ravens have also cut running back Damien Berry, receiver Rashaad Carter, guard Jack Cornell, linebacker Bryan Hall, guard Ramon Harewood, tackle David Mims, defensive back Moe Lee, defensive end Will Pericak, receiver Gerrard Sheppard and linebacker Meshak Williams.Baltimore also placed linebacker Adrian Hamilton on injured reserve with a wrist injury. And the Ravens signed backup quarterback Dayne Crist after quarterback Tyrod Taylor underwent concussion tests. Quote
Oldschool739 Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 I knew Shank was getting cut, and out of the others on that list, Berry and Hall are the only 2 that were worth keeping, but they must be expendable in the FO's mind......I would have liked to seen Streeter on the practice squad for now instead of cut, but it looks like Brown, Mellette, Thompson bumped him out.... REPEAT !!!! Quote
