OutsideRzAcE Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Do you remember when Joe Flacco threw that 2-yard touchdown pass to Vonta Leach in the first quarter of the season opener? You should, because it was the last time the Baltimore Ravens have scored a point in the first quarter. The Ravens are the only team in the NFL to get shut out in the first quarter for the past three games.Let's look at this drought by the numbers:4 -- Three-and-out drives in the first quarter the past three games9 -- Penalties by the Ravens in the first quarter the past two weeks12 -- First-quarter points allowed by the Ravens during this offensive drought14 -- Average rushing yards in the first quarter over the past three games34 -- Points scored by the Chicago Bears in the first quarter over the past three weeks while the Ravens have been shut out37.7 -- Joe Flacco's passer rating in the first quarter the past three weeks45 -- Plays since the Ravens last scored in the first quarter69 -- Yards on the past three opening drives for the Ravens88 -- First-quarter points scored by the Ravens last season, their fewest of any quarter in 2012 Source: http://espn.go.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/1700/breaking-down-ravens-first-quarter-drought Quote
vmax Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 9 -- Penalties by the Ravens in the first quarter the past two weeks This has been 4 flat tires for the offense in the first quarter. Penalties. They start out 1st and 15...1st and 20.... They start so slow and uninspired. It's like the 1st quarter isn't a game. It's just time to get warmed up. Quote
