McDonald posted $25,000 bail and was released from Santa Clara County Jail, according San Jose Police. San Jose police Sgt. Heather Randol says the 29-year-old defensive end was taken into custody early Sunday after officers responded to a home in an upscale neighborhood. To make matters worse, the alleged victim is pregnant, according to Damian Trujillo of NBC Bay Area. While the case must develop for any on-field discipline to take course, an eventual suspension could surpass the first-offense baseline of six games, according to the new policy. 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh has taken a firm stance on violence against women. Former 49ers safety Donte Whitner told reporters that Harbaugh said to his players in 2012 such incidents would not be tolerated.“He said that we can do anything in the world and we can come and talk to him and he’ll forgive us except put our hands on women,” Whitner said in 2012. “If you put your hand on a woman, then you’re done in his book.McDonald, who was a full-time starter last season in San Francisco, was also arrested for DUI in 2010. Not a very good offseason for either Harbs coaches, numerous off the field issues for both teams, and suspensions to go around..... Get to it Goody.... A felony charge, I wonder wht he is accused of doing, not that fox would do their do diligence by reporting the actual charges..... Quote
dc. Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 The real "to make matters worse" might be that multiple reports say that there were several 49ers player there when it occurred. Not a comment that they were involved or even knew it was happening... but still just not good. Quote
tsylvester Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 Keep in mind Dc, most states now have an arrest first policy when an accusation of domestic violence against a woman is brought to their attention. Even when the woman changes her mind on the scene. So this could be more of nothing, not saying it is, but could be.... So if the prosecutors decide to go through with this, what is Ray suppose to do if he truly is innocent? Plead it out, let it drag out, call on his constutional rights to a fair & SPEEDY trial? Quote
dc. Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Right. I just meant, it's not exactly a good thing when many of your players are around for an arrest at someone's house. As for "speedy" trials... most are held up by the defense seeking to get witnesses, etc in order and see out all of the prosecutors evidence. Quote

True my friend and yes, I knew what you meant and agree, not good when your players are involved, that is a lot of time spent being deposed, away from football for several. I think the niners are going to be looking up this year..... Quote
