TBird Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 According to OUTSIDERS rankings, Ravens have the better o-line ranked # 6 in runblocking and #2 in pass blocking giving up only 3 sacks this year. Indy's line is ranked 15th in run blocking and #5 in passing blocking giving up 5 sacksthis year. Advantage is Ravens. The front 7 should be able to put pressure on Luck but willhave an easier time vs the run. Meanwhile, Joe should still stay protected and the running game should flourish. Ravensshould get 150-160 yards on the ground. That will eat up the clock and keep Luck offthe field while setting Joe up to do his thing. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ol Quote
RavenMad Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 If you ever need evidence of the fact that games are won and lost in the trenches then look no further than the 2013 Ravens v 2014 Ravens especially when comparing O-Lines. Quote
TBird Posted October 3, 2014 Author Posted October 3, 2014 Or the 2012 playoff o-line vs Ravens 2013 o-line. BTW, Shipley is the starting Center for Indy. Quote

If we can keep their offense off the field with a punishing rushing attack and play action passes, we'll be alright. Quote
TBird Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 Guard Donald Thomas is out for the season with a torn quad and center Khaled Holmes is out several weeks with a sprained ankle. With Shipley starting at Center the Ravens will be blitzing the A gap all game. Eagles blitzed the hell out of Luck up the middle forcing him to scramble. That was the key. Luck still gotsome passes off but he was running for his life. Ravens better blitz the hell over Shipley. Quote
