varaven45 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 How is it, after the Os win the AL East and the Bosox win the AL cellar, all the ESPN talking heads, media do nothing but ramble and salivate over the Bosox off-season and their challenges ?Just this morning ESPN spent almost 5 minutes lamenting about the Bosox starting pitching woes and their difficulties in reaching the post-season.Who gives a damn about the last place Bosox, their overpaid and /or overweight FA's and their exorbitant payroll ? . How about the defending AL East Champ O's, Buck Showalter, and their prospects for returning to the playoffs ?Why isn't anyone talking about what they going to do in the offseason, besides losing Cruz & Markakis ? I totally get ESPN is in Bristol Conn, Boston has big market, Baltimore has medium market, but the overwhelmingly blatant bias towards the Bosox and Yanks is downright sickening.I have been an O's fan since the 60s and have never quite understood such a huge (and getter larger) disparity in the media and fan base between the Os and the $$$ teams. Anyone have a rational, reasonable, unbiased answer or reason ? Quote
thundercleetz Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 It's the same thing every year. I think the team performs better this way. When we were finally the favorite going into the ALCS we did terrible. I like it this way. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Its about market size and Bostons is bigger. Quote
thundercleetz Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 There are a lot of Sox homers on ESPN too. Even the Yankees get hated on when they play the Sox. Quote
