It will be interesting to see what the autopsy says.

The article says he had the same injury before and was cleared by doctors to return to football...I can't imagine a brain injury ever being cleared for such a violent sport as football....Now someone there is losing their license to practice, and a whole lot of money, but nothing could ever replace their loss.....Very sad situation...

He has according to the father 4-6 MRI's and several neurological tests before he went to Annapolis. Every student has to get a DOD physical. There wasn't even contact in this practice. There really may not be any be any culpability on this. Maybe he had some kind of aneurysm that went. All this is if what they said is true.

Seems like the parents should have a few brain tests themselves for allowing or encouraging him to go back on the field after the incident and ordeal that he had already went through earlier.....No matter what doctors or anyone else says, it certainly isn't worth the risk just to play a game....

Yeah he had a concussion then months later had the injury where he was in the ICU. He didn't play again until Navy.

Don't you think that after a head injury of any kind that requires an operation, that the risk is too high for the reward ?

Especially at that level.....Not like he had millions just around the corner....

That is a decision he had to make for himself. He road with his decision.

Unfortunately they made a costly mistake in judgement though.....I'm sure they'll beat themselves up everyday for the rest of their lives over that one.....Sad situation, any way you look at it......
