  1. There are increasing indications that Jared Gaither will miss his first game when the Ravens play the Philadelphia Eagles.

Gaither, the Ravens' starting left tackle who has a shoulder injury, had his arm in a sling today and was not expected to practice.

Then, when asked whether Gaither's magnetic resonance imaging test revealed anything, Ravens coach John Harbaugh gave a cryptic reply.

"Not anything I want to report," he said.

That doesn't sound good. The Ravens could have the entire starting squad on IR by the end of the season.

  2. The Ravens better be prepared for the blitzes of the Eagles. Philadelphia loves to bring pressure, and the Eagles will come from anywhere. The Eagles aren't afraid to blitz out of their dime package, and one of their favorite ploys is to come hard off the edge.

The Eagles will play four cornerbacks, two of them inside or near the slot positions. They like to bring both or one of their inside cornerbacks. One of their favorites is Joselio Hanson. The Eagles are tied for the league lead in sacks with 36 with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

  3. How has the transition to Baltimore been for you?

It's been an awesome start. It's definitely been a fresh start, and I've been trying to reward the Ravens with good play. That's all I've been trying to do, go out and play well. The Raiders were a good organization by actually giving me the opportunity to shop around, and the Ravens stepped up to the plate. I definitely don't want to disappoint.

What were your feelings about joining the Ravens?

Every defensive player in the league wants to play in this defense because it's the best. It's a defense set up for the players to make plays. Who wouldn't want to play here?

How does a guy who grew up in Bradenton, Fla., end up at the University of Nebraska?

[Laughs.] Tell him that he's going to play as a freshman. That's exactly how he'll end up there. I had no reservations about leaving. It was probably going to be either there or Auburn. But I chose to get out of the South completely and go to Nebraska.

  4. I could go into why we had to start the message board over again from scratch. I will be willing to post the entire reason and process that went into doing so, but I'd like to take a break from database management, migrations, restorations and all things backend for at least a week first.

To that end, I'm sorry for the board being down so long. Life, school, work, and hobbies all collided into one massive ball of mess and while I love this site, it had to take a backseat to everything else.

Please take a moment to re-register your username. Once you've done so, please PM me and I can restore your post count. For the time being, I can't restore any of the old posts, but I am working on it.
