  1. Takes one to know one Force, and nice way to start the new year. Maybe you should add something to your resolutions list. There's a difference between having the desire to be the best for yourself and a desire for the team; putting that desire above the goals of a team. If he wants to be obsessed with his personal accolades (a Super Bowl ring won't make him happy, but a Super Bowl MVP will...what desire!) he should go play an individual sport like tennis or golf. But, perhaps, he won't because then he'll have no one else to blame. Just like when he was at Miami. What a failure for him Clinton Portis had more rushing yards in the game for him and his team to win the national championship. The horror! I wonder if he would feel better rushing for 3,000 yards and the Ravens going 0-16. I bet he would feel great!

  2. Maese has an article about it today. Some snippets:

But there was one snippet that is worth further discussion. Asked about his future, McGahee acknowledged he's completing a "crazy" year and added: "I'm just going to go out there and play for me. I can't play for nobody else but me."

We focus on those words not because they reflect on McGahee, but because they speak to the Ravens as a team. In fact, they seem to reveal why McGahee hasn't meshed with this remodeled Ravens unit.

This season's team features many Pro Bowl performers and All-Pro performances. There are at least two near-certain Hall of Famers in the locker room. There are guys playing for new contracts, guys playing for their legacies and guys playing for a job.

But not many who are playing for themselves.

Go through the roster. Hard to imagine many daring to utter something like, "I can't play for nobody else but me," isn't it?

  3. Sorry I sucked as a commissioner and an opponent this year. Too many things going on and they all caught up to me. And my reign at the top came crashing down. But, I did win my pay league for the first time, so it all evens out. :D

  4. BEREA, Ohio - The Cleveland Browns have fired coach Romeo Crennel following a 4-12 season.

The firing came one day after general manager Phil Savage was dismissed. Owner Randy Lerner met with Crennel on Monday morning and the team announced the coach's firing moments before a news conference was to begin.

Crennel had three years left on a contract extension he signed in January after the Browns went 10-6 and just missed the playoffs.

Crennel went 24-40 in four seasons with the Browns, who entered 2008 with huge expectations but collapsed amid a series of injuries and uneven play on offense and defense. They didn't score an offensive touchdown while losing their last six games and posted their fifth season of at least 10 losses in six years.
