A rivalry, a division game at home. If this team can't get and stay fired up, play inspired ball in all phases of the game, then we might as well kiss the season good bye.

How is having a "deep threat" going to help Lamar if he
-
Kolar is a meh, big deal, a tight end, a rookie too boot. How many will they use? Likely, Boyle, Josh, my gosh, you wonder why wideouts can't get a pass their way....
-
Crap, they signed him
-
Say it loud, say it proud! No matter who the qb is, nothing will change, passing wise, as long as he is calling the plays.

Lamar needs to be Lamar. He left a lot of yards on the field last week. He is thinking too much. When the pocket opens in the middle and there is no one open, run Lamar run. Several times last week he refused to take advance of those open lanes, trying to prove he is a pocket passer. Once he bounced out of bounds 1.5 yards from a first down. He had plenty of room between he and the defenders to get that first down, but chose not to for some reason. Barkley runs between the tackles, a Ravens strength. Chubb has killed the Ravens with off tackle, outside runs, a Raven weakness because neither end can hold the edge. That will be the key. The tackles, with Jones back in the line up, have been doing great against the run and pushing the pocket. Now it is time the ends do their job, hold the edge, string em out, squeeze em down. Now will our two horrible linebackers in the middle scrape properly to fill? I am not worried about the Ravens scoring, just the defense having a big let down. This game could make or break the season.

This is going to take years to see. Mahomet, Allen, huge contracts but right now they fit in the cap with top quality around them. Even Stafford, though this year injuries are killing them. Stafford won a ring, Mahomet has as well but that was before his contract. We shall have to see if Alllen does.. But playing musical chairs with the most important position on the team is not the way to win consistently...

Have you seen the sure Hall of Fame qb Aarron Roger's in the 4th quarter? https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/419780/aaron-rodgers/splits/ Not much better than Lamar this year, 60.7 % completion. Wait, it must be his receivers, right?

Is the injury to our star receiver more serious? What can the old guy still have left in the tank? No thanks..

Then what? You still have not answered my question, just keep drafting qbs, ditch them after their 5th year so as to not pay huge salary? The days of winning a Super Bowl with a budget qb are just about over, eventually you are going to have to pay one big time money. Lamar is learning to throw from the pocket, trying to increase or at least prove he is worth the money. That takes some time, not just from an accuracy stand point, took Allen a couple of years. But also from a cerebral stand point, reading defenses pre & post snap. He never learned that in college because he was taught to throw to an open area, read where the open area would be. Reading a man vs zone is easy, but what about man to one side, man underneath, which type of zone are they in? Now that takes some time if you have never had to process those coverages. In the mean time, we win some, we lose some. Again, as long as he is learning we have to deal with it, no different than your way, going with a rookie every three to five years. The biggest issue is the patterns, the route combinations Roman uses, that don't, aren't all that conducive to getting people open unless it is a zone coverage. Even then, he uses the same ones throughout the game, in the redzone, so defenses are ready for them later in the game or once the offense reaches the other side of the 50.... It's time this team got with the times, get a real passing game, a real offensive minded coach. Anyone can run the ball with a good line and back to match. But passing concepts are a whole different scenario
-
Roman must go, plain and simple. Sure, there has been some good play calls, but not enough to over shadow the bad ones. Toss in the terrible pass route combinations, especially in the redzone and it is clear Roman has to go. No slants, no stacked receivers to create natural seperation, just layered patterns so Lamar can chose between a five yard or 10 yard receiver. I've seen high-school teams with more designed route combinations to get an open man.

It was on Lindy, they rushed the snap because of the rush, everyone was on the Los. They should have called a time out and talked it over. Just like on the qb sneak, Lamar rushed it, instead of taking time making sure everyone was set. They get that first down, game over
-
True, but what do you do when you draft a Baker Mayfield? Wait three years, see if he pans out, then start over again? Maybe the Skins will take the trade bait , toss in Taylor Henekie, he has great, wait for it, potential. Him plus a 1st, 3rd and 7th for Lamar....
-
Mahomet just threw a pick, down by 4 with a minute left....
-
So what do you want to do, play ring around the rosy with a new qb every 3-5 years? Hoping, each time, you land one that can win you a championship? Yeah, that is easy to do, there is a reason why only 2 or 3 qbs in the draft each year turn out, most stink and it is not all on the coaching. No, when you find one you pay him and try to build around him. I know, I know, Lamar stinks in prime time, in the playoffs. However, maybe, just maybe he can develop to play better in those games.
-
Oh sure, but then you have to draft well, something this team has not done recently. Also, who do you think will give up 2, 3 first round draft picks? Not Seattle, not Carolina, they don't have any picks. Not NE, they currently have 2 apparently very good rookies now. The Ravens don't want to do a Watson contract, not sure any team will a Watson like trade.
-
Of note, in the final 2 mins, Buffalo drove 90 yards for a touchdown, leaving KC with 12 seconds. They drove to get a 62 yard field goal... I love football
-
I honestly think he is focused on being a pocket passer first, running only when forced to scramble, running carefully when it is a called play. Either way, they have no choice but to pay him, they won't draft high enough to get a decent qb close to ready. They won't be able to land a fa qb worth anything and trading for one is out of the question.
-
Of note, these far superior offenses have put up a total of 10 pts in the first half with 2.mins remaining. These far superior qbs have each turned the ball over in the redzone...

Okay, time to put a positive spin on this. This team could be and maybe should be 6-0 right now. Can they clean up their mistakes, go on a run as they get healthy? The run game took off, save for Dobbins, is he hurt again? If so, can Drake keep up this running? Can the play designer come up with better route combinations? Can the offense stop with critical mistakes especially at the worst times? Can the defense button up a few things? Pete can't cover man to man, he doesn't have the instincts. Their first round waste of a safety pick doesn't have the speed to cover tight ends man to man. Other than that, the pass rush seems to be coming along... the Run defense was certainly the best part of the team this week. Forget the middle backer, nothing can be done about them this year, no cap room for a trade.... But they can still win the div, now can Lamar play well in the playoffs? Can he stop carrying the ball like a loaf of garlic bread fresh out of the oven?

Ravens had 211 yards rushing, 191 yards passing to that of the 155 passing and 83 yards rushing for the Giants.. You don't lose those games, you give them away. Play calling inside the 30 was an issue, play design inside the 5 was. Tucker missing a 56 yarder, eh.. The defense played great, I don't want to hear that they blew another lead because they did not. The offense, decisions by Lamar, the play selection, the lack of discipline; presnap penalties. Shoot, just the last one on Drake, if that first down stands Ravens likely win. Why rush the play on 3rd & six leading to an errant snap? This offense continues to stop it self. How many diving catches or attempted to catch did they make today? 3, 4? No pts in the first quarter, 3 in the 3rd, only 7 in the 4th. The Giants are not a very good team, Jones is a terrible quarterback, their line is inconsistent. Yet one inconsequential turnover at the end of the half. Yes, long, time consuming drives that left each team with only a few drives. But something has to change on the offense when they cross the 50

Time to watch some real offenses
-
Lamars careless style leads to a fumble, game set match
-
They do the smart thing and let them score 24-20 Giants 1:43 left Ravens have all 3 timeouts

Fantom Pi call, let them play, game over
