  1. Sucks this game is on Fox... Also to note, only having one game on in this time zone at 1pm and 2 at 4pm sacks, even though Fox's 2nd game is Brady vs Rogers.Roger's.. College has it right, I can chose between 15 games at 12, 10 at 3:30... great games yesterday
  2. Good question, but with the line's inability to open running lanes to this point, even a fully healthy Dobins won't matter much...
  3. JK looks like he will play..
  4. Stanley is out, but I think Jones would make the biggest improvement for the defense, the team. Turn him loose!
  5. So Max my good buddy, pointing out deficiency with the players is shitting on the team? Are we to just sing Kumbaya win or lose, good or bad, oh wait, there is no bad.....
  6. Sure Max, it is possible. It is equally possible, maybe even likely that they will be busts, as one of them is leaning right now. No sacks in college, no real pass rush moves, not very strong at the point of attack, can't hold an edge. At to this, one of them is also dealing with a season ending injury that happened at a pro day. Sure, take a chance on a player, I have no issue with that.. Except, you don't take that big risk on a player who will not be able to pay until the following season, when you already have no depth nor real threat at said position. That is the crux of the matter. This defense has struggled up the middle and off of the edge for the past few years. Why? Linebackers, outside, inside, they have missed on drafting & or developing them, a for cry to how it used to be. They never used to miss on those positions, perhaps this is just the cycle. But they let a potentially great middle backer pass by them in the draft only to take a chance on an injured, not even showing flashes of potential edge rusher. Thus, now they are desperate and have to over pay for an aged, hurt vet.
  7. Yep, they have been whiffing on a lot of players over the past few years, especially at linebacker and edge rusher. Positions they normally would nail...
  8. JPP signs, 1 year deal, $5,5 mil
  9. But there are 15 games left, who knows what will happen, but even in that heartbreaking loss, we had a lot of fun watching those guys make plays, surprise us. So we have that to look forward to, a surprise by some of the players we might not expect. So as the song goes...
  10. True, you draft an undersized, injured project who you know will not be ready to play until next year, knowing that you have no depth at that position, it's on the front office..
  11. They missed in the drafts, there were not many good choices in free agency, thus desperate for a pass rusher is my point
  12. Yeah, I know that they need depth, but come on, Houston can't even stay strong for 4 quarters, JPP certainly wont....
  13. Back in the house today.. Veteran pass rusher Jason Pierre-Paul became a free agent in March. He has received little interest since. He visited with the Ravens in early June, but they did not sign him. Pierre-Paul is back in Baltimore today, Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports. Pierre-Paul, 33, spent the past four seasons with the Buccaneers after eight seasons with the Giants. He’s a three-time Pro Bowler with two Super Bowl rings. In 2021, Pierre-Paul played through a shoulder injury for most of the year, appearing in 12 games and making 2.5 sacks. He had shoulder surgery in February.
  14. The Pats have a bad offensive line, if the Ravens can't get to a statue of a qb, then we have bigger problems. Jones is accurate, but his receivers are all possession types. The defense should rebound. Their defense will like play the same type coverage the Phins employed. Lamar should feast once again as the Pat's do not have the talent to pull off that coverage, consistently. Now, can the Ravens run the ball?
  15. For what it is worth... Two rookies playing because of injury and design... https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/john-harbaugh-blown-coverages-dolphins-tyreek-hill
  16. Such a shame, with Queen playing so poorly I was hoping Ross would get a shot. He is the 3rd player, all defenders, to head to the IR,, foot injury, joins Fuller, knee, and Means, achilles...
  17. McDaniel got out coached. The one main thing that stops a comeback is the clock. So you sit back, play umbrella coverage, make them drive the field, thus using clock, to score. Rushing 2 or 3 and dropping 8 or 9 without having 2 high safeties is NOT how you accomplish this nor is showing 0 coverage, trying to fool the qb with blitzes. He was a college coach calling college plays expecting a college result. Up 21, you set those 3 safeties deep, nothing gets behind them. The only way the Phins come back, even with the inept Ravens offense in the 4th, is by quick scores. So hopefully he learned something...
  18. That is the biggest red flag. It has been what, 3 maybe 4 years, the secondary has had issues with communication, blown coverages, poor reads on the ball. Yet each year they said they would fix it, nope. Now we have a new DC, same issue. The one thing on his side was the players who had to miss time in the secondary throughout the game. Humphries had to sit out, play half strength with a groin pull (that might need surgery). Even ones that came back were coming back from injury. Odd, this team has players miss loger periods with injuries than other teams/players.... Along with that, all of the drafted players for rush end have been busts so far, ALL OF THEM. For the past five years? You miss on edge rushers? The middle linebackers are just playing horrible so far this year, as they did last year. Means getting hurt was a big loss from the stand point of depth, rest. They over run plays, bite hard on play fakes, or take the wrong angles on their drops. This leads to big runs, easy over the middle passes. This has been a problem for a few years.... Houston made a few plays in the first half, but then disappeared, as he always does, in the second half... How does an offensive line lose the ability to run block? They did a fabulous job pass blocking, for 2 games, best they have done in years. A major reason Lamar has been able to throw on time from a clean pocket. But what happened to the run blocking? You have a guy in Faalele who is what 6'-7" 350 lbs or more, and you don't run behind or when use him on the 4th and half a yard plays? I know, I know, only 2 games of a 17 game schedule and all of the teams in the AFC North lost, are 1-1 or worse. But this team better learn how to run block or not even the return of Jk and Gus will matter. They better fix this defense, and not just the secondary, or as we saw, 38 pts is not going to be enough. If things keep going this way, we might have to look at Eric, who choses these bust players and say, time for a new GM
  19. The Browns collapsed in the last 2 mins, the Raiders collapsed and blew a big lead. Yes, maybe this is coaching, maybe the coaches relaxed, tried to do things they normally would not in games thinking the game was "over", which fed into the players freelancing, losing focus.. Who knows, but it was bad football.. I saw a college team score the go ahead touchdown with 50 seconds left. Then the guy who scored got called for taunting, unsportsmanlike, 15 yards off the kickoff. In the same end of play, his coach got called too, another 15 yards. They kicked off from their 10 yard line, and lost the game...
  20. The fourth quarter is when you salt the game away. Eat up clock, take what ever will the other team has left away. The offense did none of that, no time consuming drives, certainly not pound them into submission. All we got were 3 completions for 9 yards and a punt. The Dolphins may have rushed 7 and eight, but only 3 of them actually tried to get to Lamar, the others hung back, making sure he could not escape, run. Lamar, as great as he was, still Mae a few key mistakes. Yes he completed a pass to Andrews for 7 yards, but he had Bateman, on the same side, open for 15 + yac, further down field. This is just one example. Then factor in the inability to get a half a freaking yard 3 times, yes, the offense shares blame for losing a 21 pt lead in the 4th. Afterall,, it was not as if the Phins got the ball three straight times without the Ravens having the ball... Somewhere in there ya have to have a drive, even just one, there was six minutes left in the game and they only took 1 minute off of the clock at one point...
  21. Boy was it on display today, the offensive line that did a masterful job pass protecting, couldn't even gain a half yard in run blocking, 0 movement. A.defense that only gave up 7 pts in the first half, caused 2 turnovers, had 2 sacks, couldn't stop anything in the 2nd half. That is coaching, not players.
  22. I am disgusted, just unbelievable, a 21 pt blown 4th quarter lead, with the offense not turning the ball over, in the 4th, save for one turnover on downs. This teams inability to get half a yard on 3 different occasions is likely a major factor in the loss. The fumble at the goal line in the first did not help but did not play a factor in a 21 pt fourth quarter debacle. Play calling on both sides of the ball, personnel usage, yeah, that was the difference. Playing for a field goal once they passed the 50, usual Harbs stuff. This defense collapsed, outside of 2 Houston sacks, in the first half as usual, there was no pressure, not even from him. They could not get off of blocks leading to major gains on the ground. Coverage seemed to be no more than let them catch it then tackle them. They gave up 6 touchdowns in the air, six. Queen and Harrison were pretty much no shows, as usual, the defensive line was just playing patty cake with the phins offensive line. You have a 21 pt lead and you go 0 coverage? You only rush 2 on multiple occasions, 3 on several more... Even with 8 and 9 in coverage you give up big plays and not as if Tua had to hold the ball for ever, it was five steps throw, touchdown... This defense is a mess and injury is not an excuse. McDonald has a lot to do and also to prove. So far he isn't impressing me
  23. Lamar and the receivers are tearing them up for 3 quarters, what, all of a sudden no one is open?
  24. The coaches lost this game, rushing 2, on defense, using rookies in a complicated coverage call, running the ball when running wad not working.... A coach's job is to out players in a position to succeed. They failed today, 21 pt lead, poof, gone
  25. You had to keep trying to score a touchdown, not some hail mary on 3rd down and 12
