2 hands on the ball, don't fight for extra yards, the water will soften the fall, so hang onto the ball at all costs
-
Sometimes it is just a case of needing a fresh start. As for the linemen, the team was never big on paying large sums to interior players, centers, guards. Now, Ozzie did screw up with some of his offensive linemen signings, Searcy, Swayne come to mind. Yes, letting Jensen walk was another mistake. It was not all motivation from the coach or lack there of, it was a front office decision. Had the front office made better choices on the line, the Ravens might have repeated back in 2000, 2001.

Lamar took some Tums, full participant at practice today, full of joy & enthusiasm. They got him some duck arm floats for the game Sunday

Man, the close we get, the worse the weather looks. Calling for down pours for most, if not all of the game. Ball security is really going to play a roll in this game, hand offs, carrying the ball, catching it, even punts will be tricky to catch.

Their offensive ineptitude is catching up with them.... boom another loss to a 2 win team

He ate spicy food again, that IBS has to be taken seriously......

No, the play would be legal, if they outlaw the sneak like this one. It is similar to the fake spike and throw. Frankly, they can't without making it illegal to aid a runner, and they will not go back to that. This is just the blow yards sounding off.

I highly doubt that either coach is going to be a head coach next year. It is a nice thought I suppose, but very, very unlikely. Why? Well Mike Mc has only been an NFL DC for 2 years, yes, he has done a great job but has very little coaching experience in the league, even in college for that matter. Monken, so far yes, he is doing a pretty good job so far, still in his first year back in the league. But then, look what he has to work with, and even then, there are a number of plays each game that make one scratch their head and think, what was he thinking calling that play.... Harbs too, seems to really be enjoying coaching, outside of one more Super Bowl win, I doubt he is hanging it up any time soon

From Press Box, sounds like they have the right mind set

Yes, the weather is going to be frightful, the kind Lamar does not find delightful. But since we are playing at home, let us hope he put on a show.

Just in time for Christmas, will they be naughty or nice? What do they have in their stockings? What goes up their chimney? Let us unwrap a few things, see how the Ravens can decorate for the Holiday. Offensively, the Rams have started to gell over the past few weeks, but was that due to the teams they were playing? Anywho in Hooville can toss a snowball far, can run when conditions are right. They currently sit 13th in the league in total offense, averaging 345 yards per game, 231 in the air, 114 on the ground, 22 pts per game. Stafford is completing 60% of his passes, 7.3 yards per, wirh 17 tds and 9 picks, he has been sacked 20 times. They are converting 40% on 3rd down, 60% on 4th. Defensively, they are middle of the snow pack, 16th, allowing 330 total yards per game, 219 passing, 111 yards on the ground. They are allowing 21 pts per game. Teams are converting 3rd downs at a 40% clip against this group, 61 % on 4th down. Yes, the Ravens have their work cut out for them, coming off an early winter slumber, they should be well rested and ready to take the fight to the Rams, prevent them from being the grinch who stole, oh, you get it. Here is to hoping we are all merry and bright when this is over. Ho-Ho-Ho!

This is one of those years, because of injury or salary cap, that like college, there isn't 1 dominant or two dominant teams. There are a bunch of really good teams, but even San Fran, Philly, have shown that each top team has a chance, a real chance to win it all. The Jags are likely without their starting qb for a few weeks,. Ravens are likely to face Cj Bethard...mmm

What a difference a week makes. Steelers, Browns, Jags, Chiefs lose, giving the Ravens a firm footing. Now if they just play up to their standards, watch their step, they won't trip...
-
The Cards were smart, they "took my advice" and used the tightend, and some wide outs over the middle when the Steelers were in cover 2. Play fake to draw up/ hold the middle backer, throw right behind them, big gains. It works every time... Nice picking up a half game when you are on a bye Nice MMA fight on Fox between the Iggles and Niners

Hey, you opened this can of worms when you loudly proclaimed that aiding a runner by pushing them (not pulling) is allowed, is legal, is encouraged. Yes, I'm an old fogey, was once barely pushed on a qb sneak in pee wee football for a touchdown, back when it was illegal. Had it called back, yes I still vividly remember the play (we scored on the next play after the 5 yard penalty, and won) But I've been against this for more than spite, it is just begging for serious injuries to occur, it is just a matter of time. Oh not from the one yard qb sneak & shove, but those runningbacks and receivers refusing to go down, being held up and then the linemen run down field to help push them. Yes, those plays are bound to pop a knee, mcl, all, pcl, all of the above. But you can't outlaw the 1 yard shove and allow the rest and fans, players, everyone loves seeing a runner refuse to go down and pushed from behind 5, 8, 10 yards more... https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/sports/nfl/nfl-rumors-roger-goodell-eagles-tush-push/3162763/?amp=1

Nope, not rock, pop, r&b blue grass nor rap, but instrumental bands. If you watch college football, then you know where I am going. To me at least, the college bands are what takes the football above that of the NFL. The tunes they play, the half time shows, man, it makes the games so much more fun. I know, the Ravens have one, I take nothing from the volunteer group, they do the best that they can, but for me, they could do a lot more. I remember my times going to the games, one could barely hear them. I know it wasn't until the past few years that the Ravens actually gave them mics to help boost their in game sound. But in reality, they need to be bigger, need more volunteers, especially the horn section. The half time show would be much better, not just in sound, but in the way they display script Ravens. Yes, NFL, put some money into it for each team, not much, $100 per game, pay the drummers, flutes, trumpets, trombone players, etc, take a page from college, for each NFL team, let's have some real fun...

The Rams are here at 1 pm, west coast team laying down applies. Fresh off of a bye, I expect a blow out. Then 2 away night games, yeah, those games, down to Florida then to the West Coast, have to figure one is a loss. Big game no matter what happens between now & then, against the Steelers, which could also be at night, yep, that will test your metal for a playoff run

Yes, every year our favorite team gets a chance to get away, refresh, unwind, heal up. Every year we have to find other things to do, hope the team is healing up, staying out of trouble. So what do we, fans do? Maybe a look at where this team stands, 9-3, at their bye week. What went into the 9 wins and 3 loses, what can we expect the rest of the way. Mistakes,(9 fumbles lost, 5 ints) too many of them, went into the 3 loses. In each game, the team had the lead, in the 4th quarter too boot, and yet, they allowed turnovers, penalties, missed assignments, poor coaching decisions to turn leads into deficits. Blocked, missed field goals.... Yes, with just one less turnover, a smart play, a clever coaching choice, those loses could be wins. As it stands, offensively we have seen them score touchdowns more in the redzone than at any time before. They are 7th in the league in total offense, averaging 366 yards per game, 207 passing, 157 rushing. At times, this unit can move down the field quickly and once in the redzone, 64 % of the time they put it in the endz9ne, good for 3rd best in the league. Then there are times when they can't get out of their own way, a few series of missed blocks, drop passes, errant throw, poor play calling, penalties. Yes, it is maddening at times. Defensively, they stout, 2nd in the league in total defense, allowing just 273 yards per game,102 yards on the ground, 171 via rhe air, first in sacks with 47, 10th in total take aways with 19. Yet like the offense, this defense has had lapses that lead to the 3 loses, missed tackles, blown coverages, leads vanishing. Yes, a top 10 team in offense and defense, which leads to them having 9 wins in 12 tries; impressive as they sit atop the AFC North and the AFC as well. Where they go from here is anyone's guess. They have been here before, not too long ago, first round bye, then a disappointing loss by lack luster play. Have they learned their lesson? Stay tuned, buckle up it could be a bumpy, fun ride.

Stanley is clearly a liability right now. Moses I think is suffering because of Simpson, who is struggling. I wish they would put Merkari in there for Simpson. But the defense is going to be tested coming up quickly, their 15 pts per game is going to go up me thinks. I do think the offense is going to out things together. Todd has seen now exactly what works, what Lamar and the receivers are best at and hopefully got those stupid wr screens out of his system. Likely had his best game as a pro, ran hard, ran fast (stop leaping) But if they can use him down the middle of the field, the seam splitting the safeties, no one will catch him. We have found a great bevy of runningbacks, speed, quickness, power; that is a great thing.

The most incredible fact; he is the first coach since the merger in 1970, to be fired in back to back seasons. 1-10, in disarray, no first round pick next year. I remember Jimmy Johnson and Troy Aikman going 1- a large number in their first season. How did that turn out? I'm not saying Frank was the right choice for coach, nor that Young is a Hall of Fame qb in the making. But....
-
I think the bye came at just the right time, 9-3, could realistically be 12-0, seriously. 3 loses because players and coaches lost focuse, either in preparation or in execution. Let us hope that they rest up, heal up, realize just how good they can be if focused

Aaaaaand another thing, smart resume recording stinks when using it for a football game. It never takes you to the end of commercial breaks when fast forwarding. Idiots

Well, a win is a win, right? Create 4 turnovers and only scored 20 points, 7 of those in the final minute? 197 yards rushing looks impressive, except 37 of those came on one play, in the final minute of the game. Some lucky non calls that could have changed the game, certainly the score. 4 for 13 on 3rd down? 1 of 3 on 4th down..... Tucker, 2 of 3 on field goals,,,, again! Lamar, 56% complete, No, the Chargers defense did not play better than we expected, the Ravens offense did just just enough to win... How do you get a delay of game penalty on the extra point? That should have been a big red flag that this team just was not completely focussed. A win is a win, right?
-
I want to see them exploit the seam pattern. When ever the Chargers go to zone with split safeties, the seam is going to be wide open with the tight end, use it early, use it often.
-
True, but there comes a time when you have to prove that you belong named as one of the best teams in the league. This is that time
