  1. Webb might have swagger, and I like that, but if he offered to play WR then I could see that, put to be a punt returner, when the object of the other team is to seperate you from the ball at any cost, well I'd really hate to lose a CB that way.

If Jacoby Jones or Asa Jackson or another young player steps up and does the job effectively then Webb isn't an option. Why don't you challenge the guys I just mentioned to do the job right.

  2. Harbs can say no and he will not be on the field for returns.

Yes he can say no but people are acting like Harbs is the only coach doing this. It has been a trend for a long time. Webb and Patrick Peterson love Ed Reed and Deion Sanders and they are all wired the same way. Webb isn't exactly shying away from the return game, the man has the swagger of a playmaker. Again stop blaming Harbs and blame Webb. He could get hurt trying to cover a WR, you can't rap these guys in a bubble. I swear some of you guys who are suppose to be grown tough men act like scared mothers.

  3. Good Lord No..You dont make our shut down CB run on the suicide team..Come on Harbs, if he gets injured on PR...

Harbs isn't making him do it Webb is choosing to do it. Webb has said that he wants to be like Deion Sanders and Ed Reed, he wants to be versatile. Patrick Peterson is wired the same way. You have to understand that a lot of CBs want to play different positions. Antonio Cromartie just said yesterday that he thinks he's the second best WR on the Jets. Ed Reed has lobbied to play on offense in the past. Webb wants to be a playmaker just like those guys so if you want to blame someone blame Webb.

Is heath evans and skip bayless related? Hes a jerk

They are blood brothers, they kiss up to the Steelers and trash the Ravens. He was a freakin fullback who is big headed because he played with Tom Brady and Drew Brees. Even with the Steelers losing the division to the Ravens last year and entering the playoffs with a rash of injuries he still thought they were "far and away" the best team in the AFC North. Oh by the way Bayless thinks the Jags and Vikings should sign Brett Favre, it's sad how he thinks Favre and Tebow are beyond perfect in his eyes.

  5.

It said could not would and it was 3 years ago. They put him back there last year and he survived. He's an option just in case other guys don't step up. I swear people need to relax sometimes, I still can't believe people overreact to football. This isn't a life or death situation. You want to get mad about something get mad at the nutcase who shot those innocent victims in Aurora, Colorado.

  6. So if BMac may or may not be on the OL. So that would be a change on the whole left side plas an old man at center.

I guess it's time to wave the white flag, the Ravens have no shot at doing anything. NFL Network's Heath Evans is right the Bengals will stomp the Ravens Week 1. I might as well burn everything I have that's Raven related, I have to learn to hate this team because they aren't perfect. Papasmurfbell is the king of everything so we should listen to what he says, he can say or do no wrong. My life is over because the Ravens are going to finish with a terrible record and compete for the number one overall pick in the draft.

    (Sarcasm all the way through).

  7. Preston often looks for a story where there isn't one.

With Ngata, Cody, McClain, and Lewis, things will be fine, health being a factor of course.

I don't see Preston making any evaluation of Ngata's muscle contusion last year. It's clear that he drastically whore down and wasn't as effective as a result. And......on top of it.....despite the rushing yards allowed.......we WON games. This is a deep team that can win games and overcome adversity when one part of the team fails.

There is no reason to doubt this teams ability to stop the run. None whatsoever. This team is deep and has pride. They will do just fine.

Preston misses Brian Bilick and Kyle Boller, they made his job much easier as a writer. He came up with nicknames for them and he had his battles with Billick. Preston hasn't had that luxury since Harbaugh has been here, Harbs isn't going to waste his time giving Preston any drama filled material. Towards the end of Billick's run here the lockerroom was split and the QBs were a mess. It was bad for the Ravens to deal with those issues but it was good for Preston's career. The team is much more united since Harbs has been here so Preston has to reach more to get a story. Doughnut Boy Preston doesn't have it like he use to when Billick was here, he's lost his touch.

  8. Actually this could be a good thing. Joe gets more reps to workk with Ed and get into a solid groove there.

I agree, Dickson has been having a really good camp far as catching the ball and of course displaying his main strengths (his speed). Joe had another great practice again today, he has to make the talent around him better. Elite QBs make lesser known players into good players or stars. Eli Manning made Kevin Boss and Jake Ballard look pretty good, Joe has to do that with the guys around him.

  9.

he's already the starter at LT... they don't want MO to pay there yet. He had one week of camp last year, didn't miss a game. Played pretty god. Not great but good. He's been working out, in better shape than anytime last year. He missed 3 days of camp. I'm not that worried

I pretty much agree with you but you have to understand that due McKinnie's track record most people aren't going to cut this guy any slack. I do believe he's trying to change but he just has to show it.

  10. Update about McKinney from Aaron Wilson:

When asked how much he weighs, Bryant McKinnie: 'I'm probably under 350, but I've been out about four days. So, that makes a difference.'

Bryant McKinnie: 'I think I could be back on the field soon. It don't hurt like it did when I first did it.'

Bryant McKinnie: 'I've been training hard, I've been boxing and doing all this stuff. To have a setback like this is disappointing.'

Bryant McKinnie appeared to be in decent shape, but still has to get his back checked out and pass conditioning test. Hopes to practice soon

Bryant McKinnie told me today at BWI: 'I had an accident. I'm over it. I'm here to play football.' Says he slipped and fell at home in Fla.

So the accident set him back which is unfortunate for him. Hopefully things work out better for him from here on out.

  11. Here's some transcripts....the first from Cam...

    cam.jpg

    And from Dan...

I can't believe I'm about to say this but I think we may see the best of Cam Cameron this year. The Ravens have never had this much speed and talent at WR and TE before at the same time. I didn't feel good last year during training camp when Cam said he would have to scale back the playbook but he was working with some young inexperienced talent (Torrey Smith, LaQuan Williams, Doss, Pitta, Dickson). I do believe Cam should have been more creative but he's right about the execution part, it helps to have the right players for your system.

  12. Quote

CUNDIFF BLINKS: It took a full week of practices, but one of the kickers finally missed a field goal. After making his first 18 field-goal attempts in training camp -- including a 51-yarder and a 55-yarder on Saturday -- veteran Billy Cundiff missed wide left from 48 yards at the end of the practice. Rookie Justin Tucker connected on all seven of his attempts -- including ones from 51 and 54 yards -- to improve to a perfect 20-for-20 in training camp. Both have been impressive.

    CUT HIM!!!!!

JACOBY'S DROP: New wide receiver Jacoby Jones bought his own JUGS football machine to cut down on drops after they plagued him at times in Houston. But one of Flacco's passes clanked off Jones' hands and into the lap of Albert McClellan, who outraced the offense, including a hard-charging Kelechi Osemele, to turn it into a touchdown. That was Jones' only drop in 11-on-11 drills Saturday.

Dear Lord, Please prevent this POS from making the squad..

Crav, outside of that one bad mistake by Jones he really has had a good camp so far. I tweeted Aaron Wilson and he told that Jones has looked really good for the most part so far. I can't defend Cundiff, I just can't LOL.

  13. Ahhh Joe Flacco better watch himself, I dont think he wants to frustrate Ray Lewis.

Hey Flacco has swagger right now and Ray did say during his press conference this week that if he was Joe he would have crazy swagger right now. Ray created this monster LOL, but seriously it's good to see them having fun.

  14. Upshaws no little boy...I think he'll set the corner just as well as JJ. I loved JJ as a Raven. Loved him but this is one position that it was time to get younger, faster and stronger at. Same with Cory Reddings departure.

I'm looking everywhere....here's some action from Day 2 (yesterdays) camp.

    The pads go on today.

VMax I find it funny that the national experts are now all of sudden acknowledging JJ's importance to the Ravens defense now that he's gone. JJ was a big piece of the defense but most of the experts ignored him when he was here, the same thing happened when Adalius Thomas left after the 2006 season (they propped him up after he left the Ravens). I wish JJ all the best and I think he will do fine in San Diego but Upshaw will hold things down here.

  15. They were overlooking the AFCS winner?

Who won the game again? Oh that's right the Ravens and don't start about what would have happened if Schaub had started. Are you related to Skip Bayless? I can't stand him and I'm starting to feel that way about you.

  16. Yes Ray was pushed around at times. How many 100 yd rushers did they give up last yr? How long were the streaks of stopping them?

What would like Ray to do, retire? He's not thinking about that now so he has to change with the times. Why are you so worried about streaks? Wins matter most, their great defensive streaks have only led the franchise to one Superbowl win.
