A look at Ravens' options at wide receiver
cravnravn replied to cravnravn's topic in Baltimore Ravens

There's no question that the Ravens' priority is to upgrade at wide receiver. How they will accomplish this is a more open-ended matter. The Ravens can take several different routes to improve the targets for Joe Flacco, from putting an offer sheet on a restricted free agent (perhaps the Denver Broncos' Brandon Marshall), signing an unrestricted free agent (like the Houston Texans' Kevin Walter) or trading for a consistent but unhappy veteran (the Arizona Cardinals' Anquan Boldin). "I think having a playmaker on the outside will help Joe Flacco become a better quarterback," Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said last month. There seems to be a push this offseason for the Ravens to shake up this group of wide receivers, which has been a factor in the Ravens' finishing 18th in passing in 2009 and 28th in 2008. With free agency beginning Friday, the Ravens' receivers are Mark Clayton (a restricted free agent), recently signed Donte' Stallworth, Marcus Smith (a fourth-round draft pick in 2008) and Justin Harper (a seventh-round pick in 2008). But an NFL source said the Ravens aren't willing to give up their first-round pick in this year's draft in a trade or for a restricted free agent at this point. The highest draft pick the Ravens ever considered dealing for a wide receiver was a second-rounder for Terrell Owens in 2004. If we can sign T.O. to a cheap, incentive-laden deal, then I'm all for it. Having TO, Mason, Stallworth, and a draft pick next year would set us up to have an explosive offense. Anyone who doesn't think TO still has it clearly hasn't seem him play lately. Yes, he's old, but he is one of the best athletes I have ever seen in my life, hands down. Im sorry, but the Ravens are not a win at all cost team..Do you really want to take a chance on him whan you know we are a run, run team...He would destroy any chemistry..And Ray is not his keeper, its not Rays responsibility to keep Leon in check..

Where did you find those?? That site, had some reasonable Ravens PSL's for sale.
-
How'd ya like to pay 53,000 for 2 PSL's https://www.stadiumpsl.com/new-york-jets-psl-s-for-sale/2-jets-psls-lower-level-section-112-row-2-16.html

Pretty cool, click on a position. http://www.footballsfuture.com/2010/combine/wr.html

Along with those 69 receptions you want to put up with his antics?? You know we are a run first team, and when the weather gets bad, and we're pounding teams into submission, and Leons not getting his touches, what do you think will happen?? As soon as the game is over he'll be on his website bitching..Flacco thru the ball 10 times in our playoff demolition of the Pats..Leon would have none of that.. Wheres our leon emiticon

Mr Cleet, his numbers have been going south prior to last season, and that was with Romo as his QB. This should not even be an option for the Ravens. His attitude, his prior dealings with Baltimore should set off warning lights. And we dont need a bandaid for Flacco, we need a younger WR (Boldin) that can give Joe 4-6 years, not someone that has maybe 1-2 years left in him.
-
We dont need to 36 year old WR's.
-
Leon's numbers have went south ever since 2006. 85, 81, 69, 55 catches..Td's as well 13, 15 ,10 5..
-
Hasn't Boldin been beat up alot, missing a lot of time of late? No..He played in 15 games last year, the year before he missed time with the broken jaw, and the year before that he played in all 16 games.

One team that has been rumored to have interest in Owens is the Baltimore Ravens, the team that has been perpetually one or two offensive weapons away from the Super Bowl for the last decade. They now have the franchise quarterback in Joe Flacco(notes), and as head coach John Harbaugh said during his Saturday press conference at the Scouting Combine, the interest is legitimate -- and this is before the end of the league year, when coaches and GMs aren't supposed to talk about upcoming free agents yet! http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Where-will-T-O-go-?urn=nfl,224799

A TAD OT, did anyone see the classic choke from Team Canada womans Curling team last night? It was greater than Bill Buckners 1986 miscue. Up 6-4 in the bottom on the 9th, the captain throws the rock and leaves the swiss wide open for a 2 pointer which the quickly make, we going Extra Innings the Swiss have potentially 2 points, but the Canadians have the perfect setup with the last rock to knock those 2 points out and leave theirs in the house for 1 point and the Gold Medal..What does the same woman do? hits the Swiss rock head on instead of on the side and it takes the Swiss rock as well as the Canadian rock out of play, leaving 1 swiss rock in the house for the Gold medal..

Looking at his career stats, hes averaging 13.5 games a year over his career, I dont see where his health is even a question. COME ON OZ!!!!!

While Boldin's health is a question mark, he's only 29 years old and is known as a great locker room leader. Baltimore tops the list of teams that will be interested and Miami also makes sense. The Cardinals wanted a first and a third-round pick last year. With his trade value down, perhaps a second-round pick and change could seal the deal. Expect to hear a lot more about Boldin in the build up to April's draft. This time, it should pay off in a trade. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/02/25/combine-rumor-boldin-will-finally-get-dealt/ If there is any truth to this rumor, I would love Oz to pull the trigger..And a 2nd rd pick thats an immediate impact player is a steal.

1 hour and 50 minutes to do a 45 minute drive, the roads were blown shut, I drove thru drifts of snow 3-4 ft high..The Mrs just called, shes flippin, she could not get out of the driveway to get to work.

Woaaaa, now Im really LOST.. So Locke walks in at the end and Claire refers to him as her friend..So Im thinking everyone that Jacob had "touched" sees Locke as Locke but since Jacob didnt touch Claire, she sees him as someone else ala Ghost Whisperer.

I can't text and walk. I have no idea how people text and drive. Aint that the truth, I tried it once, never again..And Im also tired of folks driving in the south bound lane, drifting into the north bound lane and you can see clearly what they are doing..Looking at their cell..And 90% of the roads dont have shoulders, that I drive on, talk about puckering.

PA and north are likely in the 20 range. So far, so good...Hope it buries Boston..
