It should be in the bag, but this team is more than capable of going on a good losing streak too. At this point I think they will make 500, but I am not sure. If and when they do I will be happy. Edit: Actually looking at the numbers I am not sure I think they will be 500. I could see them going 22-30 in their remaining 52 games to finish below. I dont want it to happen, but I wouldn't be amazed. So 500 is still my hope.

Congrats man! Great news!

Yes, this might be your best post ever. The you meant to mock someone else ends up as one that you could mock yourself with. Enjoy. Yeah, they have a lot of problems but they play until the end. My hopes are still to be 500, I don't really care what place they are in. If they make that anything else is a bonus.

Yay. Long game but a good one.

I don't think he enjoys good play. I think he enjoys saying negative things and "I told you so's". From my experience with him on this board and others previously that's what I see.
-
He'll be back after they lose a couple in a row to say "I knew it all along".
-
It really was. Two straight series wins against division opponents.

Good win, tomorrow is a big game. Chen was on tonight. Strop had me worried but not too much. He had good stuff.
-
Well I used to cheer for Phelps and wish him well but after all this hard hitting and irrefuteable evidence I no longer like him.

I think they are being taxed for the cash prizes they are awarded when they win the gold, silver, or bronze. They get a bonus from the US Olympic Committee for 25000, 15000, or 10000. You can blame Obama if you want but they have been charged since a change in the tax code in 86. I don't think Obama was behind that. Also I think other countries besides us tax them too. Not saying it a good thing to do but its not new and it'd not just us.

Well naturally all video games and TV shows are not appropriate for kids. Games with nudity or even lots of violence are rated M and not sold to minors. In the case of video games and other entertainment parents may need to do some parenting and determine what they think is appropriate or not for their kids. I have played video games all my life, and there have been violent games the entire time. For a trifecta of violence, nudity, and racism check out 1982's "Custers Revenge". It just probably wont shock anyone because of the primitive look. Well except for the rape.

Barring a major collapse this season I see no reason why we could not expect an even better season next year. Admittedly its all guesswork, who knows what we will do in the off season or what anyone else will do but if this is a few games on either side of 500 at the end of the season I'll be cautiously optimistic for next.

I think its good too. I think they are kind of an average team so I am glad they didn't go get anyone. I am not sure one or two players would make too much difference anyhow. I am also glad they didn't sell. It might have messed up whatever they have going and I think its important to finish as well as they can this year. Anyway I do not think there were too many players the team wanted to part with that were wanted by others. Very nice win tonight. The team answered right back after a terrible first and Tillman settled down and gave them 4 good innings (after the first).

They were right in the Playstation era, it came out in 1994 and there were plenty of violent games for that console and every other at that time. Doom, Duke Nukem, Tomb Raider, its a huge list. No different from the games now, except for the look. If you want to go back to Atari you can too, they had lots of violence, but little gore because it was hard graphically. Some did have some though. There was a Halloween video game in the early 80s that when you died your head was cut off and blood spurted out. Arcade games in the 80s had a ton of violence and gore too.

I think you're a few years older than me but when I was a kid there were plenty of violent video games. Now they were for Atari or early PC so they didn't look realistic but they were around. Nor do I think they cause any problems in society. As for MMA/UFC etc (they are all the same to me) every time I see it on its a couple of wet sweaty guys hugging and rolling around together. I mean I guess I see the appeal for some people, but its not really my thing.
-
Whew. They had me sweating in the 9th.
-
Well we used up or run allotment for the weekend on Friday.
-
Well that one sucked. And was pretty entertaining. A couple of nice comebacks marred by some poor untimely pitching. Oh well.
-
Thank goodness, I know that some of the few things you like doing besides nay saying and pessimistic predictions is posting "I told you so"s. I thought you were ill or possibly grew up. Glad you are still the ass you have been and will probably continue to be. Enjoy.

Hmmm, three losses in a row and Papa hasn't chimed in with how he knew they were going to fall apart all along......Is he sick?
-
Damn, the Ravens had a great year last year!
-
Who knows, maybe that comeback win against the worst team in the league last week gave them some confidence for the following series........
-
Good win tonight. Not a lot of offense but the starting pitching was good and the bullpen was excellent.
-
I think its a good move.

Wow, out of nowhere - a split.
