  1. OK BallT...I think your right...Conference record first...then points maybe? Still...beat them by more than 3 in case of a Conference record tie. Then again, a better Win/Loss record over the 16 game schedule settles the matter period. At the moment the Ravens are only 1 game down.
  2. Might as well get the big questions out of the way...call it 'Face your Fears'... If it's both Favre and Peterson having a big day then here comes a blowout. Will Peterson gain over 100 yards on the Ravens D? I'm thinking he will and worried that the D will put so much effort and attention into stopping him (because of last week) that Favre will have a field day off the play action pass. If you're going to ask for something, ask big so... Here's some things the offense can do to help the D: Keep the ball away from the Viking offense by sustaining long drives, winning the field position and Time of Possession battle. Score points! Lot's of them! Like right away...get an early lead, take the crowd out of it...force the Vikings to abandon the run in order to catch up.
  3. Amen geo...that October streak continues... crav...The Ravens have to beat the Bengals by more than 3, beat the Browns, and split with the Steelers. Look familiar???
  4. On the radio they said it was for that hit and he kicked some guy...
  5. None of the AFC North teams appear dominant or ahead of the class at this point in the season. All show some weakness and inconsistancy so the race is on. Don't punch your playoff tickets yet as Dan Banks points out here...
  6. Jameel McClain is a LB and Fabian Washington is a DB. Giving up only 2 100 yard rushers in over 60 games is not a sign of the times. Every team in the NFL would love to have that stat. Peterson might make it 3, but the Ravens D will be very strong against the run this year...their front 7 is very deep and talented. The Ravens D had a lot of turnover in personel over the last year and the new guys are developing. Just like the Bengals D started off last year poorly but got better as the season progressed, so will this D as they settle in.
  7. lol... I enjoyed the read dc. Remember Jeff Mitchell? He was very good.
  8. He's probably not ready and he's not on special teams, so my guess is that he has a lot more to show the coaches before they suit him up. Plus who are you going to sit out of Washington, Clayton and Mason? He has to prove he's better than them.
  9. "How do they know it's a "he?"

That doesn't bother me. For that kind of money watch what happens to my pride... Matt is a great person and shouldn't turn his back on the money. He's smart too...he might end up with another Super Bowl ring and possible ticket to the Hall of Fame.
  11. I bet you get them by next season dee....just hope you're in section 115 by me! It's a little different here in Baltimore...great ownership and organization...we get entertainment and winning...an escape from misery. Now take Redskin fans...they pay for misery...same for Browns, Lions, Rams, Bills, Raiders....no escape, no hope.
  12. I'm not watching the primetime games...I might catch a quarter... but I agree that hard times make people want to "escape" so any kind of entertainment fills that bill. This is exactly why I am a Raven fanatic, because it's the "one non-serious thing" I've got going on in my life. I love football and I get a break in my day/week. The Bengals, who are hot, might be blacked out Sunday...that's the ecomomy. This is where the NFL is about to get burned...seat sales. Watch, next year there will be open spaces in most stadiums. This year many of us die hard fans looked the other way(from our family obligations) when we sent in our seat money thinking "the ecomomy will be better next year just weather this storm". I see more stormy weather ahead...for us and the NFL.
  13. Nice read dc. Here's some of my thoughts... Bengals: They are officially Cinderella. They're good...forget the misleading stats. They played hard and faster than the Ravens, left 3 TD's on the field...basically with their weaknesses they find ways to win, They don't give up and play for 60 minutes unlike the Ravens did Sunday. Carson Palmer is back...with a running game. The defense is solid so they are contenders...not an Elite Team but they defeated 2 division rivals in the Steelers and Ravens. That can't be taken lightly as both were playoff teams with winning records last year. This is exactly what had to be done to get in the drivers seat to win the division. Ravens: I'm so sick at what I saw Sunday that I can't comment. They have to get help to win a Wild Card IMO. The blueprint on how to beat them is out. Steelers: The running game is back. Their schedule is easy so the Ravens can't afford to fall 1 game behind them. The Ravens will be hard pressed to get a split with them this year IMO. Browns: Horrid embarrassment. The owner should send refunds to the fans. If I put out a product like that I'd be sued and put out of business. It's borderline criminal.
  14. I think this is more of a special teams signing.
  15. Yea OTR! The national media should check with us first on everything. Let's take a peek at the ER School of Experts...
  16. LOL!...I love it...this is definately comming from left field... LOL @ this fan response...

    Dear Crav

Do us and the city of Baltimore a favor. Go to the Vikings website, register under a Viking fan name like FavreUup and predict the Vikings in a *** I'm stupid for thinking this game is easy *** over the Ravens. Please...just this once...
  18. The short game was the game plan (flawed) but I see what you mean about Joe's growing pains. Cam should have trusted Joe's arm and attacked the Bengal secondary. Let him loose like earlier this season. Sure he'll throw some picks while learning, but defenses won't be able to make the Ravens one dimensional. You have to have that intermediate and deep threat to pull the safeties out of the box and open up the running game.
  19. Because of drops, the Bengals left 3 scores on the field. Factor in their turnovers and this game was a blowout. The score did not describe the beatdown. The Ravens have serious problems. To salvage this season, the Offense will have to be a high powered, high scoring offense because the D can't rush the passer and the secondary can't cover. It's too late this year to find and replace corners. The Ravens can't hide it. They have been exposed.
  20. That's part of the deep blow dapetes. He's got to get Matteson to 'make some changes'. Clarence Brooks too. Add Mark Carrier and Vic Fangio to the list. His assistants are not getting the job done. He has to confront them...his people...light a fire under them but not alienate them. That's tough. Baltimore is 15th in points surrendered at the moment. That is not Ravens football and it's not playoff caliber football.
  21. I'm sick about that call dc. Solid defensive play and it should have been 4th and long. Pure bullshit.
  22. Adversity has struck his team and it looks like a deep blow given their performance Sunday. The deep blow is more like team weaknesses being exposed. Especially on defense. Phillip Rivers started it...hell, a back up QB, Brodie Croyle for the hapless Chiefs started it in week 1....116 passer rating! No pass rush and a secondary that desperately needs one. Then there's the rash of penalties...bogus or not it's giving games away. They are not playing like "RAVENS"...his mantra and goal. They have not become better each week or the best Ravens they can be. John has had success up until now but he is entering new waters. How will he address and correct this?
