  1. Yea, I think he did but it didn't keep him from being one of the best RTs in the game. He's always had a problem with that foot. It was injured on draft day and kept him from being a 2d or 3rd round pick. He dropped to the 5th round, I think. Ravens let it heal while he learned the playbook and system. He was alright by his rookie season and took Oher's place in one of his few missed games. Wagner went vs one of the best pass rushers in the game in Denver and gave up 2 sacks and some hurries but impressed the hell out of Yanda next to him. Yanda said there would have been more sacks with any other rookie starting vs that guy. Yanda said he came in and did his work and kept his mouth shut. He reminds me of me. Then Oher leaves and Wagner starts last year. At one point he was rated as the best RT according to pro football focus which rates each player in the game. Wagner finished #2 or 3 by the end of the year but football outsiders ranked the Ravens right side of the oline as the best in NFL giving up the least sacks from that side. Wagner will be the best RT in the game providing the foot doesn't get in his way. It seems to get banged up a lot. We can also give credit to Juan Castillo the o-line coach for developing guys like Wagner, Urschel who will be the starting Center probably by 2016 and the undrafted Hurst last year who made history being the first undrafted rookie LT to start a wild card game and we won with him in Pissburgh causing one fan to say, imagine our guys starting an undrafted rookie lineman in a PO game. They also got beat by another rookie in that game - Gilmore the TE who caught a TD on a crossing pattern to ice the game. What another draft from Ozzie.
  2. Good point about the pads but all the reviews have been great and unless he re-gresses during the preseason, he made the team and probably first string with a good performance in exhibition games like during mini camps. Dont forget, they want to give SR less reps in the slot because of his age and save some of his energy and Butler is more suited for the slot. All that said, we've heard all this before from Marlon Brown as the next phenom who didn't turn it up last year and hasn't had great camps this year.
  3. I think Waller did too unless he has the drops in pre-season but he went thru all of last year w/o 1 drop.
  4. Great posts guys and I agree. Yea, he's young but he was the best TE in the draft. He was originally projected in the 1st round but dropped because of his age and experience but was still the best. Pissburgh sure was upset when Ozzie jumped in front of them to steal him. He'll need coaching for sure but everyone does but he's catching on. I hope that Waller works out at TE @ 6'6. Send both of those guys across the middle from opposite directions will get mismatches especially in the red zone for sure. Waller only had a couple of drops and that was at the end of mandatory mini camp. He went to the rookie camp and OTAs w/o a drop, just like in college. Man, I can't wait. I need my football fix NOW!
  5. Ditto. Did you notice in the link that the game seems to be too fast for Maxx? I saw a story during mini camp that Maxx wasn't as exciting as Perriman but was catching everything thrown to him and he moved the chains. So who's right?
  6. Hensley of ESPN gives him a B on shoring up the secondary with Arrington and Kendrick Lewis and filling the cupboard with more depth from the draft. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Late-For-Work-625-Ravens-Graded-For-Offseason-Moves/59251bfd-c3b1-4404-9396-d9a6af196a25
  7. Good point and Ravens made upgrades in secondary with Kendrick Lewis and Arrington. Also Webbie has impressed coaches with his quickness and speed. Jimmy's back too.
  8. Ravens National Scout, Joe Douglas, just got promoted to the Bears as Director of College Scouting after a long tenure as a scout for the Ravens. Big names he evaluated and recommended were Webb, McPhee, as the Southest Scout and Ray Rice and of course Joe Flacco as the East Coast Scout. He was the guy who called DeCosta and said you have to come up here to see this guy. He's the real deal. DeCosta said I didn't even know anyone in Delaware but waited for Joe to come to Baltimore to play Towson State. During the pre-game practice Eric saw Joe for the first time, a giant of a man, who picked up the ball and laid it on a dime 50 yards away and Eric said shit, I have to see this kid. After Joe beat Towson, Eric took all his scouts to Navy to see him bring Deaware from behind in the 2 min drill at the end of the game to win it. They all went back to OM and submitted grades in sealed envelopes and they were all A's and Eric said we went to work on Joe Flacco. Eric told that story to Nest 1 and opened by saying I don't know if we would have drafted Matt Ryan even if he dropped because of all the work my staff did on Flacco. Now people say Ozzie still wanted Ryan and tried to trade up for him but Rams wanted to much and didn't want to give up shot for Chris Long whose famous father is on TV before every game and was a star for OAK but a link was recently posted that it was Bisciotti ordering Ozzie to inquire about a trade and he wanted to trade all the draft picks for Ryand til Ozzie talked him out of it. Douglas can also be rememberd in the early film of HARD KNOCKS after winning the SB35. He was the TURK who went to the rooms to tell the players the coach wanted to see them with their playbooks. The were getting cut. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Ravens-Long-Time-Scout-Joe-Douglas-Accepts-Job-With-Bears/9c9e971f-38bf-4e24-bbfe-6b3e24df8600
  9. Man, we lose Ray Rice and then backup Pierce but get Forsett and his 1100 yards and draft Tally who had a good rookie year til injured. Now they get Buck Allen who can not only run but catch. Some think he was drafted solely for his ability to catch as Trestman's big back had more yardage last year than all the Ravens WRs except SR. I can't wait to see Buck who had great rookie and mini camps. Forsett spoke to all rookies on longevity. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/The-Competition-2015-Running-Back/f9165863-7c38-45e9-9722-a365d4542d7e
  10. Definitely and they will. They kept the best punter all these years and won't lose the best FG kicker in the game.
  11. This includes rookie signings. It gives Ravens some breathing room if there is an injury and someone new has to be signed. Parting ways with Ngata and restructuring of Suggs and others give Ravens the room. http://www.scout.com/nfl/ravens/story/1547928-ravens-salary-cap-update
  12. Webb is quick and aggressive upon return. Perriman and Butler shine at end of mini camp as WR battle heats up during training camp. See vid. I can't wait to see Perriman. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/videos/videos/Practice_Highlights_Webb_Impressive_In_Return/9ea98b44-be8d-445c-a20f-2d0b51026abe
  13. Campy wasn't even allowed to practice because of a quad. He's always getting hurt including last year. Damn shame because he had good hands and is a return guy. Joe said you're going to be excited about these young guys. He said Butler must have had 1500 yds in 3 days of practice catching everything thrown at him including some tough side line throws.
  14. Wagner dropped in the draft because of injured foot and now Maxx seems banged up according to Zebriec's tweets. Campanero (quad) and Pitta (hip) didn't practice at all plus some others. See link. Flacco says I'll tell you what - our young guys will excite you. https://twitter.com/jeffzrebiecsun
  15. My pleasure. I just signed up for twitter.com and that's where all the action is. You can talk directly to ball players that have it. One guy was upset that Urban didn't show up for voluntary mini camp after being injured all year and he needs all the practice he can get. Urban tolld him he was excused to go to his grandmother's funeral. HARBs knew about about funerals because his grandfather recently died so he told Urban to take the time you need. Oher kicked a fan off his twitter account for bashing a teammate-lol.

  17. I haven't seen him just the reports but he has to be better than Clarence Alligator Arms Moore, DEM WILLS and Doss - right?
  18. Has incredible mini camp. Flacco said he must have caught everything thrown his way for 1500 yds including some difficult side line plays. He's 6'2 and 218 lbs so he's another big one with Perriman and Waller both of whom have shined. He had great training camp last year before injury late in pre-season side lined him for year but he came back in great shape and driven to succeed. Says he is more comfortable in slot receiver position. There's a lot of good receivers in camp and Ravens are giving them all a good look see but Butler could be the next Ozzie undrafted find as he separates himself from the pack. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Wide-Receiver-Jeremy-Butler-Has-Incredible-Minicamp/81c5f723-a2c6-48a2-9d4f-a624253b8bb2
  19. I love this signing last year. He wasn't even playing football when Ozzie signed him. We won with him in Pissburgh and he's looking like a Corey Graham then Brady raped him in NE but it took the best QB with a trick play, the bending of the rules on some strange formations and some deflated footballs to beat him. Theres a lot of upside to this guy.
  20. Keep in mind 2016, a key year for Zuttah. His contract expires and there's a lot of talk about inserting Urschel there. Letting Zuttah go along with several Ravens, some that might retire, will allow them to keep both Yanda and KO. Many posters don't want both due to their big contracts and you get get guards cheap in the middle rounds but the Ravens will try to keep the best OG duo in the league if they can.
  21. Man, what a pair of finds these guys were for Ozzie. Theyre rising stars of the future although for now they're content on being super subs. Both saw a lot of action last year due to injuries and Urschel who is a natural guard played some center. He was a 5th round draft choice last year. Both have been getting a lot of reps at voluntary OTAs until the rest of the line is there. Urschel has been playing center and says he improved his foot work speed and doesn't have to think of things. He is working on his PH.D in math and taught advanced calculas and trig at Penn St 3 days pr week in addition to playing football. Ravens coaches discovered his brain and worked him out a Center for a couple of games when Zuttah went down. Hurst is another undrafted Ozzie find starting 5 games when Monroe went down and was the first starting undrafted rookie LT in a wild card game in history and the Ravens won with him in Pissburgh. They'll go back to being subs when training camp starts in a few weeks but they'll be super subs until they start., Many see Urshel as the starting Center in a couple of years and DeCosta said he is the future Center the day they drafted him. He says he's a natural guard but will play wherever he wants. Hurst can play LT and RT. He has a lot of learning of courae but held up well in the POs starting as an undrafted rookie. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/John-Urschel-James-Hurst-Aim-To-Be-Super-Subs/d35c36c2-d876-49a0-aa67-ea5c2b79bec2
  22. This thread was started before the OTAs where Walker has been abused repeatidly by Perriman for long bombs and on shorter routes. He just runs by him and the entire defense at times but always by Walker. In all fairness Perriman is one of the fastest men in the country and Walker will not be a starter but I'm wondering now if he isn't another Chykie Brown. Gotta give him time but I'm not so sure about him.

Why are you bringing up a team that will be 3rd place? _______________________________________________ Because they're the home town team that makes the playoffs every year and were the SB champs just 24 months ago and they would have been in the SB this year if it weren't for a lot of cheating and illegal footballs NE got away with vs a deleted secondary. That's why.

Another name for that is trolling. He's not a fan but constantly criticises them. I'm not above calling them out for dumb mistakes like Billy Goat and Lee Evans but I don't do it for the sake of doing it.

SmurF, why don't you just root for the current champs - NE or maybe Dallas. They look good and have a vet TE. We're going to enjoy all the wins the Ravens rack up and get into their 7 playoffs in 8 years with a possible trip to the SB.
