  1. OK, Thanks. Mark Clayton and TT played in their rookie seasons as #1 picks. Perriman was definitely the best WR in camp til his injury. He blew by the entire secondary. Nobody could cover him in the practices. I still say he starts and what about the slot WR. Thats SR's position and Boldin's before him leaving the 2 wideouts. Ravens often used 3 WRs last year as many teams do plus 2 TEs.
  2. My question is how can Aiken be ahead of Perriman, unless it's his knee injury? If healthy, you gotta start your #1 draft pick and he had great mini and summer camps until the inury where he's missed a lot of time now. Waller isn't at the bottom and is ahead of Carter Nelson for LWR according to the chart. He made a good catch making it look easy Thurs night. He makes the team. Trestman loves big men and Waller fits the bill and he can catch.
  3. OK, thanks man. We beat KAP and the pistol in the SB and Ngata knocked RG3 out. His back up beat our pourous defense in OT. Ravens made POs 5 yrs in a row w/o using it and 6 of 7 years and will make it again this year. Playaction goes back to 60s and 70s but Joe didn't use as much of it til Kubes came last year. CAM was criticized a lot for not using it. Billick would have beaten Indy in 06 POs if McNair had used it. Indy knew where ball was going, up the middle, and was waiting for it. They left DEM WILLs all alone in end zone. A play action would have sucked Indy to the middle and McNair could have hit Wills all alone but Billick isn't an offensive guru. This year Trestman installed the shot gun which was used more than before and thus the great offensive show last night. Joe is still a pocket passer while RG3 languishes at bottom of pile. In Denver on the miracle play Oher gets beat and his man almost sacked Joe but he steps up into the pocket and drills it to JJ for the win. Joe has a ring. KAP doesn't. That's old school football - 101.
  4. Great post. I hate to ask a dumb question but is Flacco a pistol QB. Not sure if I understand the term. I'm old school.
  5. We've been posting thru all the mini camps and training camps that Trestman will go to the RBs in passing situations more than ever before here. Last year his RB, Marc Forte had more yards receiving than most receivers. Only one Raven WR did better - SR as Forte had over 800 receiving as a back. Sure enough, just like we said there was passing to the backs and they weren't dumps but designed plays. I posted that Chicago had the highest scoring offense in the league last year and already we scored 30 points last night in first pre-season. Some think Buck Allen was drafted more for his passing skills than running skills. Look for more designed passes to the RBs.
  6. After reading my post above, see the Carl Davis and Mike Preston threads. They predicted this. Even Mikie was right saying Boyle will surprise fans by making plays and will get that chance this year. He's also the best blocking TE we have. Gilmore missed a block on a rookie ILB. Joe would have been sacked but the rookie didnt fix his eyes in the right direction and missed him. A veteran would have sacked Joe.
  7. Drew Brees didn't play at all. Carl Davis is the steal of the entire draft as the most dominant player on the field. Third straight defensive gem in a row drafted by Ozzie in last 2 years. Maxx Williams and Nick Boyle kicked ass at end of the game. Maxx with 4th and 20 catch but still had 12 yards to gain with man on his back after diving over a guy as he carried him to first down that set up the win. Earlier he missed sure TD on a ball Owen Daniels made many catches on last year. Stan White said Maxx is only 20 and has a lot of upside but has to learn to make that catch. Then he showed that upside on 4th and 20. He was the best weapon on the field so you go to your best weapons and Ravens did and he delivered. Ravens have best 1-2-3 RB punch in NFL. Tally impressed running thru huge lanes by the 1st string o-line. Had 53 yards on about a dozen carries. Damn, Ravens lose Ray Rice and get Forsett who only played 2 downs tonight by design and Tally and Buck. Buck Allen ran hard and kept legs moving after being hit and also carried people after getting hit. Before the game HARBs said he is excited to see him and said he has great vision. Waller caught one. Campy scored big TD in front of home town fans. Kendrick Lewis played well. First drive by first offense was best ever in Ravens pre-season game. Joe on top of game. Trestman installed shot gun offense that looked good. First string secondary played well but scrubs lost the game until the heroics of rookie QB in final 2 mins. Secondary still a concern if injuries occur. O-line was monstrous. You can tell great coaching job by Juan Castillo. Mosley making progress in 2d year going side line to side line ala Ray Lewis. Zack Orr another undrafted find by Ozzie at ILB made some plays in 2d half with scrubs. Zadarius Smith who made Dupree go in college had good game tonight setting the edge. Ravens defense set the edge well in first qtr before scrubs went in. Shazier the guy Pissburgh drafted ahead of Mosley was called a bust on national radio saying half the teams in the league score on him at will. Last year before hurt, Pitta carried him 10 yards on his back. Piss passed on Mosley.
  8. Maxx still had 12 yards to go after making the catch on 4th and 20 and carried a guy to the first down. He was the best player on offense at that time and he delivered. It wasn't as big as Rice's 4th and 29 but big nevertheless in a rookie's first pro game.
  9. Thanks bro. See Carl Davis thread. He had great game tonight as rookie. He's another Jernigan from last year with a repeat performance. Loved Tally and Buck tonight and how about Nick Boyle? See Mike Preston thread who said he will surprise fans and play because he makes big plays and did tonight. Campy caught big TD as player I wanted to see above. Waller caught the ball as I mentioned above. Maxx made a big play on 4th and 20 yard gain in final drive diving over a guy to make fantastic catch and then carry someone on his back to the first down and moving the chain as advertised after missing a TD. Stan White said we saw Owen Daniels make that catch a lot last year but Maxx didn't but he's a rookie and only 20 yrs old. There's plenty of upside as we saw later on 4th and 20. Radio guys said you want to get the ball to your best player in that situation and Maxx was the best player and they went to him and he made the play. He also took a shot in the ribs and was limping off the field but he was OK. Maxx gave credit to the QB. You could see the west coast offense with all the horizontal plays. Anyone notice the shotgun under Trestman? Zach Orr the undrafted LB mentioned above made good play in 2d half. Kendrix Lewis played well but the scrubs were terrible. And who was the rookie QB who won the game. He threw interception that allowed NO to go ahead. He apologized to his linemen for the pass and they said don't worry, we're getting the ball back and we have to do our job. He did with an 80 yrd drive. 14 touches for 53 yards from Tally as backup and he moved the pile. Forsett ran ony twice by design. Buck Allen impressed Stan White running and keep his legs moving afte getting hit. After game radio guys were impressed with the two back up RBs. Zadarius Smith whom I mentioned above played well. He made Dupree go in college taking up blockers and freeing Dupree up. Posters mentioned Jah Reid who's unit didn't do so well when in the game but came back in the final drive.
  10. SR said he was going to be a stay at home dad when he retires. With his money, he can do it. He's a great family man. Ravens were fortunate to have him in his final days in football. Yea, Sr, ran out of gas but so did McNair here. He played 16 games and ran out of gas for the big playoff game vs Indy where he lost it throwing a pick over the middle on the goal line. There were more Indy players around the ball than Ravens because they knew where it was going. Hell, everyone in Baltimore knew where the ball was going. Anyway, getting these old timers can be great for the youngsters to learn. Marlon Brown said he is always in his hip pocket following him around.
  11. I was going to add Means to the cut list. I haven't heard anything about him. Maybe he makes the practice squad but with Aiken rising to the #3 WR and guys like Marlon and Campy and Waller behind him, I don't see Means beating out any of those guys including Campy who has had a good camp and has return duties. Every year fans put Jah Reid on the list but he survives because of the injuries to the line which were numerous with Monroe and Zuttah getting injured last year. I also expect them to keep Jensen. Last year he battled Wagner for RT but lost ground immediately and then was the number 1 backup but then placed on the PS when they found out he had sleep apnea. That's correctible with weight loss and I read that Ryan has lost weight and is a good backup with Urschel still ahead of him. They will need Urschel, Ryan and Jah plus of course Hurst behind Monroe at LT and now maybe RT if Wagner is still injured. He wasn't drafted high because of a foot injury and is now re-injured. This is probably a make or break season for Arthur Brown but the links I posted in here said that Zach Orr another undrafted player is ahead of him and running with first team at times. He has had trouble with the system. Last year teams tried to trade for him but Ozzie refused saying he was one of the best line backers in his draft and traded up to get him. It would be bad if Brown were cut but thrived in another system but this is a do or die year for him. This is definitely a make or break year for KLM who keeps getting injured so it's his time to put up or shut up. He can be a great back up if he can stay healthy. I can't wait to see Buck Allen although Tally will run first and has slimmed down and is much faster and quicker than before. I can't wait to see Waller too, especially at TE if they use him there. I Just my opinions.
  12. Love Stinks after my bitch left me. Also a lot of soft blues and Jazz thinking of her with BB King and Eric Clapton. I sing Crazy Bitch on Karaokee night and that song usually gets me laid as girls go nuts. It has a line that says she puts scratches down my back and when I sing those words girls come up on the stage and put scratches down my back. That's how I met my ex.
  13. That's true but Pollard sure could hit and Pollard was better in the secondary than anyone we had in NE. He had a decent year his first year in TEnn and then he was injured last year so he's probably too old now. Just ask Gronk. We win in NE in Feb if Pollard is still here. Gronk was scared of him.
  14. Pitta and Jimmy were definitely starters with Pitta scoring and Jimmy winning the game at the end by shutting down Crabtree. How could I forget Jim HARBs whining at the end. Guess King didn't count the kickers as starters but Koch ran down the clock to take the safety and Tucker boomed those FGs to ice the game when SF came back.
  15. That means of the 90 men on the roster today, only five starters lifted the Lombardi trophy two-and-half years ago: Flacco, guards Marshal Yanda and Kelechi Osemele and linebackers Terrell Suggs and Courtney Upshaw ___________________________________________________________________ That's what he said - only 5 starters left. I gotta get these glasses fix but post above corrects King.
  16. Exactly and he would if he returned. So far Ravens havent signed Cook who is available or was. Maybe they're thinking about Pollard. I know Gronk send HARBs a big thank U note when he released Pollard who reuined him a couple of times.
  17. Peter King continues his infatuation with Ravens writing more kudos starting with Bisciotti, Newsome, HARBs and Flacco as the four pillars of the organization. WoW - ony 5 members left from SB 47 team: Suggs, Yanda, KO, Upshaw and Flacco. Elsewhere, Pollard wants to return to Ravens. TEnn cut him so he wants to return. That's weird because he was so bitter when he left as part of HARBs house cleaning of him and Boldin and Reed when they led the revolt about wearing pads plus other stuff. Pollard didn't even go to the ring ceremony. They mailed him his SB ring upon request. Now he desperate but I dunno if HARBs wants him back. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Late-For-Work-87-Why-Ravens-Are-Envy-Of-So-Many-NFL-Teams/1ce1036b-2922-44e5-9350-42f88b9ed0b8
  18. Yea,thanks, man. I couldn't remember if it was center/right field or just center field. Back to Ravens, remember Billick's cream puff training camps and fans bitched because players weren't tough enough. HARBs is supposed to have one of the toughest around and has made every playoff of except once, unlike Billick but both have rings.
  19. Dan Cody, Part 2. Great human specimen leads to disaster via injuries. Disgusting. Mickey Mantle hit over 500 HRs but would have doubled that if he hadn't missed half of his career due to injuries. I was there when he got his ankle caught under the fence in the outfield and went out for the season. After that they put padding all along the fence on both sides.
  20. And so was Kendrick Lewis who just took over for Elam who is out for a year. Who would have thunk it this time last year. Both are right players for right price. Score two more for the Wizzard of Oz. http://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2015/8/7/9102497/ravens-signing-of-will-hill-a-stroke-of-genius
  21. Nah, none of these dudes clear waivers. EVery GM is looking for Ozzie's cast offs. Maybe someone will get a mysterious injury for the year-lol. I can't wait to see these guys, especially Waller.

    Carl Davis

He's compared to Linval JOseph of the Vikings. He dominated at the SR Bowl with an unblockable first step burst like Suggs. Thats the key to his success. He has long 34" arms and can easily shed blockers while shooting the gaps. He's well coached. Davis has a full set of pass-rushing moves, too, and he’ll bust out a spin move and an over/under arm rip. He’s well-coached with good technique and an ability to understand on the go He had his ups and downs last year and got tired which forces his pads up but that can be corrected and was part of the scheme. That's where the man child statement comes from KO. He still has to grow and mature. I see him contributing similar to Jernigan last year. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2410290-carl-davis-nfl-draft-2015-scouting-report-grade-for-ravens-3rd-round-pick

Ravens were shocked he was still on the board and jumped on him. He's having a good camp thus far and so is Urban. Ozzie keeps finding these studs. This is from the UPDATES thread and it mentions his strength. ______________________________________________________________________- Here's another rookie who has opened eyes with his confined-space strength and quickness.
  24. HARBs said if Perriman isn't ready by the game Thursday night, it's time to worry. He's missing valuable practice time and getting his chemistry down with Joe. Meanwhile, Aiken has impressed filling in for him.
  25. At halfway mark, who's having a great camp. Some of my favorites, that's who like: Flacco - great to outstanding camp with plenty of bombs to Perrimen before he was injured but Aiken has caught some long ones too filling in. Urban - Showing why Ravens were so disappointed a year ago when he was injured in camp for the season. Uses his strength well. Nick Boyle - mentioned above by Mikie Prestone who said fans will be surprised at this Delaware guy. More toughness from him and he loves to start fights with Courtney Upshaw. Zadarius Smith - Oz was upset when Squeelers drafted the coveted Dupree just before the Ravens but Ozzie got Smith. He made Dupree go in college and is doing same here for teammates by taking up blockers. Urschel until his concussion. Been playing OG and Center and Ravens aren't afraid of starting him at either position. Taliaferro - having great camp is much faster and quicker after losing weight in off season. Buck Allen - one of my favs in the draft. Some fans think he was drafted more for his catching than running and he hasn't disappointed in camp. Zach Orr - I've mentioned him before as undrafted free agent who is doing it on the field. He's ahead of Ravens #2 draft pick Arthur Brown as he continues to rise up the depth chart. Nick Perry - Ravens might have found someone to play the deep middle. http://www.pressboxonline.com/2015/08/06/at-ravens-training-camp-midpoint-who-has-performed-the-best
