In talking about Ozzie's miss on Elam, just about everyone missed on their safties in that class except SF who got Eric Reid. He did pretty well his first two years but the rest sucked including Elam. Saints suspended their guy taken in the 20th spot before Elam. I forget his name but after showing promise as a rookie he was suspended in his second year. The guy most of us wanted was Cyprien who was better in coverage than Elam while Elam was the better hitter or supposidly but Cyprien didn't do much better for Tenn, I think it was. He was rated only a few spots higher than Elam but he played in a defense that was more suited for him but he still didn't do great. That year was just a poor year for Safties except for Reid. Not sure how he did last year or now. BTW, when Ozzie drafted Ed Reed he didn't know Ed would be as great as he was. He never knows how a player will turn out even guys like Heap, Jamal and JO. Phil Savage told us that at the Barn one year. He said we didn't know those guys would be the stars they became when we drafted the. We hoped they would be we never knew for sure. Back to Reed, the guy most of us wanted in that draft was Lito Shepherd, a top CB, which we needed. We had around the 25th or 26th pick that year. I was at the draft party at the stadium and Tom Matte was doing the radio show with Tom. They were guessing Lito and were shocked when Oz took Reed. Kiper said that Reed was the safe pick at the time and he said it for Elam. Now, Lito turned out to have a good career but Reed had a great career but he was the best player in that entire draft and no body knew it. Same with Brady, everyone was wrong with him. he went in the 6th round after Ozzie took Chris Redman. Everyone was calling him the next Unitas because he went to Louisville. He was a joke but Brady should have been the first player taken. Bellicheat lucked out getting him at the bottom and now he's the greatest coach ever. Back to Elam, he was projected in the first round and went there but has been a bust like all the top safties taken except Eric Reid.

You didn't say that when he won SB 47 by shutting down Crabtree at the end of the game. He watches film and saw KAP tap the back of his helmet with his right hand. Jimmy knew exactly where the play was going and shut Crabtreet down. If he never played another down after that he was worth that first pick for winning SB 47.

The guy I was upset the most was losing Pollard. He had Gronk's number and ruined him even when he played on other teams before the Ravens. So last year we don't have Pollard in NE and Gronk kills us with all those yards and score. Thanks HARBs. Also, the fans would say losing Boldin hurt the most. We would have made 6 straight POs with him but he was also in the club house revolt. Ozzie said it was about production not personalities. BS. Both Pollard and Boldin had monster years on their new teams. Boldin came within a play of going back to the SB while we had nobody. Signing Smith SR last year was Ozzie's way of admitting he was wrong with Boldin.

People forget, Jimmy had a 12-15 month injury in week 5 of last year. He came back early so he's not nearly 100% but who had an interception in the end zone? Check out vid on www.baltimoreravens.com. Give it time. What is needed is Ed and Ray's leadership. HARBs got rid of the guys he didn't want in ED, Pollard and Boldin and has been paying for it since.

But Ravens are 2.5 favorites. http://forum.russellstreetreport.com/showthread.php?134469-Ravens-open-up-as-2-1-2-point-favorites-vs-Cincy
-
Don't look but Bengals are 2-0. Could we go 0-7? Ravens aren't who we thought they were.
-
They were both road games vs non-division play so the important games start now with Cinci and Pissburgh and Cleve coming up. That will pave the way for the rest of the season. The back half of the schedule still gets easier but we have big secondary probs if OAK can shred it to pieces.
-
Carr was just too fast for the team and was very mobile that gave him time. Seems like this defense is having trouble with the pistol offense and mobile QBs. Jimmy was beaten for a long TD early in game. The pass rush is an issue. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/The-Breakdown-Eisenbergs-Five-Thoughts-vs-Raiders/9927e934-c877-43bb-9427-5e50e8cc8704

At 02 we can kiss the POs good bye with Cinci and Pissburgh coming up. Reminds me of 04 and 05 season and then the 07 season that prompted Billick's departure and did anyone notice Party Boy knocking the lights out for Clowns. He'll have a field day with this defense and is coming up soon . It's not all on Joe today but defense but JOe hasn't been consistent since winning the SB. He left Aiken and SR wide open but SR is the only real receiver we have once again.

LOL - It was just a joke. Who said we were sleeping. We were just friends and he was a little insecure about it but a million guys wanted to sleep with her and many tried but failed. Seriously.

Trolling? Im just reading. I was accused of trolling Tony Pinkos RSR board. Well, they hit me first and I hit them back a lot harder. It's the way I fight in person and on the net. Hell, I just had a jealous cop after me after he found out about his wife and me. I told the wife I was going after him and hit him before he hit me and I still had a sniper's rifle I took deer hunting years ago. I found out where their house was and could have hit him in the spinal chord from across the street and he never would have been able to f**k her again much less walk. Now that's trolling. Finally, she said he wasn't coming after me. I said he's not as dumb as I thought he was.

LOL - Bronco fans are throwing Manning under the bus but many are praising Ravens D as the reason and calling it the most stout front 7 we'll see all year. Ravens played bump and run knowing Manning couldn't go deep on them according to one fan. http://forums.denverbroncos.com/showthread.php?237714-Manning-weak-link!

That's what I say, we'll see. If he's so good why was he on the street when Ozzie signed him.
-
That was pre-season and where was Campy on Sunday when it counts - hmmmmm? Marlon hasn't done anything since his rookie phenom year. Aiken caught a TD in NE but didn't step up Sunday.
-
back up, that's all. someone else might go down.
-
I don't see Marlon or Aiken stepping up this year except maybe vs the poor teams like OAK this week.
-
I agree. I'd rather lose by 20 points than a dropped ball with a few seconds left but the ball was tipped.
-
They couldn't run the ball. They tried. Forsett only had 43 yds running all day. They had an extra man in the box to stuff the run because Perriman was out. He would have taken a man out of the box to cover his speed as a deep threat. That also took away the middle and why Gilmore was a non factor. No speed from Perriman, no run game, and no passes over the middle. No nothing.
-
Here's his scouting report. Weakness was the drops caused by slow hands. He didn't attack the ball with his hands, also his soft routes. Like I said, he didn't have any drops all summer until like the last day and he went down on 30 Jul and hasn't practiced since but the fact that he didn't have drops during the camps shows they were working on the slow hand techniques and correcting them and correcting his route running while he ran by the Ravens secondary often and repeatidly to catch long bombs from Joe. And we saw how good yesterday that secondary is. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2415794-breshad-perriman-nfl-draft-2015-scouting-report-grade-for-ravens-rookie

Perriman is much taller than SR who is about 5'9 or so. Perriman is over 6'2 or so. Joe throws the ball higher and Roby doesn't get his hand in his eyes or tips the ball. Perriman didn't drop hardly any balls in all the mini camps and blew by the entire Ravens secondary time and time again. My bet is Perriman catches it and good point on sivler line. Hey, it's a road game vs a SB team and we lose on 1 play after the offense is shut out the entire game.
-
Yea, but Manning had trouble with that stout defense as much as Joe did vs theirs. He had a receiver to throw to, Joe didn't. That was the difference and the pressure on Joe.
-
Good point and I mentioned above Joe was hit as he threw the ball but the ball definitely hits SRs hands hard, bounces off into the chest and then straight off the chest. Roby might have gotten a hand on the ball to give it a push. He is definitely in SRs face with tight coverage but the ball hits Sr really hard. See the vid again.
-
Here's a vid of it. Guy is definitely in SRs face and at least distracted him. Ball is coming in hard as Joe was hit on the throw and still got it off hard. SR said CB didn't touch it but he got in his way, ball hits him in the hands and then chest and bounces away. I've been saying for a long time Joe throws the ball too hard for a lot of guys. That ball hits his hands hard even thought the CB is in his face. Doesn't seem like he touched the ball. SR agrees with Tim that he should have caught it anyway but given the coverage and velocity of throw, it just wasn't going to happen. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2015091309/2015/REG1/ravens@broncos#menu=gameinfo%7CcontentId%3A0ap3000000530003&tab=recap
