Ravens to have plenty of cap money next year
TBird replied to Tornado700's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Yea, Elway would want Joe teaming up with Kubes but what does their CAP pic look like. They're still close to SB status so their SB window must be closing too. Seatte's is. Kubes and Joe were a force last year and he only had 1 more weapon than this year with Torrey (many would say he wasn't a weapon either) and SR. Now he has nothing to work with. Im still advocating the draft to correct things. Drafting high which Ravens haven't done since JO, they can get what they need there and signing someone that might be available. -
More trolling comments who doesn't know football like 80% of the team missing practice after the Cleve game because they were injured. Many were in the hospital. They lost Jimmy Smith last year and Suggs this year. Ravens were in the POs just 9 months ago winning in Pissburgh and just missed the SB with a banged up secondary and a lot of cheating, bending the rules and trickery at the right time to beat them. There's no need to rebuild. Just fill in the spots in the secondary where needed, find some weapons for Joe and they'll be OK. They should be back in next year after a great draft picking at the top instead of at the bottom all those years. Elam was a pick from the bottom after winning the SB. Ravens missed the POs in 04 and 05 and got back into them and championship game in 06 vs Indy. Ravens had the better team but Billick was clearly out coached by Dungy and didn't run Jamal in 2d when Jamal begged him to.

What bargaining chip? Joe hasn't done a thing since he won the SB. Nobody would want him, not even Jags who just beat him with Bortles-lol. -
Cleve just beat us and probably will again. Joe has no weapons and the secondary cant close out games. Elvis lost it with a face mask penalty as time expired and gave them an extra FG. I've been saying just a bump in a road all season and was with Nest 1 again watching every game but this is really depressing. I don't remember Ravens ever winning just 2 games since coming here. Even Vinny's teams were better than this and so were Billick's 04 and 05 and 07 teams. Anyone remember that Cinci game in 04 or 05 and we make the POs if we win when Clarence Alligator Arms Moore caught the ball fell but didnt crawl forward 1 yd for the first down. We keep the ball, win and go to the POs but they got the ball and went down the field for the win. Today's game with Elvis reminds me of that game. I was in Miami for the last game in 07 and ball was 1/2'' from goal line with 1 sec left and Billick refused to run McGahee. Troy Smith a rookie QB who took over for Boller in the game is begging him to go for it and Billick says, I run this team. Kick team goes and and Stover makes it but the entire team on the side line throws their helmets on the ground and is kicking the dirst and cussing mad. Stover missed a chip shot for him in OT then on the next play CAM calls for a plass that went 80 yard and the game winner for them. Billick was the only coach who couldnt beat CAM that year and was promptly fired for it. That's what happens when you lose games like those and today's.

They'd give you a new ass hole over on RSR for that. Joe didn't lose that game. The guy has to make that play on the first one. He didn't JOe has no playmakers. Then Aiken misses and ball is intercepted. Those INTs are not on Joe but for the lack of weapons. Givens finally caught a TD. Elvis lost the game with the face maks penalty as clock expired, gave them one more kick and after shaking a shorter one earlier, the guy kicks a 53 yarder. Go figure.
-
Im taking out all those o's I used when typing Doom's name. No such thing. He has a stupid face mask penalty as time is expiring away from the ball and the guy who missed a 40 yarder makes a 53 yarder to win in their first road win in 3 years and 30 + games. Elvis handed them the game on a silver platter. Ravens thought the game was over when they kicked the FG and were saying WTF?????
-
Maybe Joe hits Boldin instead of going to Torrey Smith in NE but who knows. The Defense blew a 2 TD lead in Foxboro in February so Brady would still have picked on Melvin and Elam and use a lot of trickery, cheating and bending of the rules at the most appropriate times.

Yea, like my pappy always said, I need a million bucks and a six month vacation. LOL

With over 80% of the RAvens being injured at one time, want to bet that West wont be called up soon? Ditto on fixing the WRs but now with half the season gone, we're stuck with what we have. Maybe with the high draft picks, Ozzie can find someone but it has been his achilles heal, never drafting a true blue chip receiver. Torrey Smith was the closest one but no one cried when he left. He signed slot guys like Boldin and SR but never got the blue chipper.

This is a great signing. Here's a better link below. Kyle Shanahan was the OC who pimped West on draft day so Clowns traded up in front of Minn, Bmore and Piss to grab him fearing he would be gone. West had a very good rookie year and stats were slightly better than Taliaferros rookie year who is ahead of him now on depth chart with Buck just below Tally. However, in the Clowns game of musical chairs with coaches, Kyle left the mistake by the Lake and West lost a big supporter. Enter DeFelippo the new OC and WEst's numbers went down. BTW, HARBs interviewed Kyle for the OC here before he knew Kubes was available and he liked him and might have gotten the job if no Kubes. So WEst ends up in Tenn and was caught in a numbers game. They wanted to go with the 2 guys they drafted and cut West who said on draft day that Ravens were going to sign him but Clowns beat them to him by trading up in front of Ravens and Squeelers and Minn to get him. All 3 teams needed RBs. Ozzie disputed West that he was definitely going to sign him. Clownies tried to rib us saying they one-upped Ozzie and out-smarted him. WEll, not quite. Ozzie ended up with Gilmore who iced the wild card game in PIss last February with a TD. So now the carousel in Leaveland turns again and Ozzie gets a 3rd round draft choice for nothing. For nothing. ILMAO as Ozzie one-upped Clowns once again. Watch West turn it on in front of his home town friends and dont believe the crap that he doesn't like working out. Suggs and the guys will get him in the gym. His biggest criticism coming out of college was his heavy legs from all the running he did so legs were worn out from a bunch of 300 and 400 yard games - both running and receiving. I was watching the play off game between Towson and WestMichigan or whatever it was and the TV posted his stats something like 450 yds and 4 TDs and I said to the guy next to me are the stats for the entire offense or just West's and he said just West's. Freaking unbelievable and he still got about 700 yrds and a couple of TDs in the pros plus l94 yds vs Ravens and a 100 yard game vs Squeelers and a 94 yd game vs Cinci and 68 yrds vs NO plus 3 TDs in those games. So much for his legs being worn out. It's also great to have another home town boy on the team in Campanero who grew up in near by Howard County, I think it was. Nothing can be more exciting than playing for your home team after going to all their games growing up. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Terrance-West-Im-Back-Where-I-Belong/2ec40bb7-40e8-4320-af8b-8f4f842c2358

UM, not by much, only 2.2 pts more while JOe has one of the worse offenses ever. In fact, after week 6, Ravens lost 5 games within the last 3 mins and 1 play of each game. They're 15 mins from a perfect season vs a brutal schedule with a bad offense. Maybe he has better weapons than Joe and an easier schedule. Besides, he didn't do so hot vs NE so much so Rexy Boy whined that Marsha tried to embarrass his Bills. Joe almost beat them just months before in February in the POs in Foxboro. He led twice only to have the defense lose for him.

A bigger thought is Trest has only had 1 WR who is now gone for the year while Kubes had SR and Torrey Smith plus Aiken at times and Trest still has an average offense ranked 15th best for most points scored. It's also ranked 15th best overall with virtually no weapons. Note; Cinci is # 3 with points scored - an average of 28 pts pr game and are in 1st place in div, while Ravens average 23 pts pr game with just SR. Cinci has AJ Green who already beat us this year and others. And our hated enemy in Piss is just below the Ravens with 22 pts pr game and the Clowns are further below with 19 pts pr game, so Ravens are #2 in AFC-N for pts scored with only 1 weapons and old Steve Smith. And I'm betting in the second half that Trest's offense moves up a few spots in the power rankings with absolutely no weapons at all except Buck and maybe Forsett if he can play. Not sure of his status. Guess who is #1 with 34.5 pts scored pr game? https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/points-per-game

And then Suggs went down for the year.. Very interesting.

But Perriman wasn't. He never missed a game in college so if he can pull thru this PCL there's a lot of hope for him. He ran by the entire secondary all during the mini camps much like everyone else in the NFL is now. He didn't drop any til his last day of mini camp. He dropped two, I think. Then he got the PCL on the first day of camp.
-
It was their smell that frightened him. Back to Perriman, he hasnt seen the field to be good or bad. That's the bad of it.
-
A lot of guys on the boards wanted either Parker or Cooper and nobody wanted Perriman. One guy had it as his tag line on each post. Over my dead body Ozzie Newsome will turn the card in on Perriman.

Ravens threw 18 of first 22 times vs 31st worst team vs the run

Obviously not if SD completely discarded them in first half. Trestman should have run earlier instead of later. -

Rack it. One of the best posts ever. -
After the succesful running game last year under Kubes, the Ravens hired a pass happy Coord from Chicago. A lot of fans said there goes the run game which was ranked around #15 before Sundays game vs SD.. So last Sunday vs SD who has the 31st worse team vs the run, the Ravens went pass happy throwing 18 of the first 22 plays. In fairness SD over loaded the box with run blitzes and weren't too worried about their anemic receiving corps. It work as SD led at half time but eventually they would lose as Ravens adjusted and ran more in the second half and won. Ravens will see a lot more of the over load the box defense with Ds not worrying too much about their WRs. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Eisenberg-Balance-Is-The-Key-To-Winning-More-Games/6d8a1c8f-9e41-4199-937a-641296c29559

I posted when the season started that Trest's offense was #1 in scoring last year in Chicago. He has a top 10 here with absolutely no weapons since SR went down. As for Joe, he hasn't been consistent since SB 47. Even in NE last February he screwed up that last pass. There was time left for a couple of short passes over the middle. That was probably's Kube's call but Joe changed the play when NE showed him something he saw on film when they played GB and GB beat them. So he checked off and threw the INT losing the game. Torrey had his man beat. Had Joe thrown to the outside of the hash marks it would have been a TD but he threw inside straight in the CBs waiting hand. Guys on the other board said oh, Flacco has to be perfect all the time. You do if you're going to the SB and Joe screwed up changing the play and then missing. Fans still tried to blame Torry for not taking the ball out of the guys hands. ILMAO

Koch can kick FGs in a pinch too if Tuck ever goes down. Last year in camp HARBs tried him out and he kicked a 51 yarder. Even the punter backup kicked a 51 yard FG in practice last summer. Forget his name. Koch probably won the game pinning them back so deep while we were losing and forcing them to give it up.

A bye to me is what my ex said. When she's pissed she really gets pissed.

But doesn't rule out a return next year. Here's the presser. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/ Players react to news; http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Ravens-React-To-Steve-Smith-Being-Out-For-Season/dc8e7476-9b9b-4e77-a10b-f39e5ddb2c88
