  1. There's a new movie coming out in a few weeks on this subject called: CONCUSSION
  2. TBird

    Ouch!

I don't see us winning either. HOpe we lose rest of games and probably will with Schaub throwing interceptions all over the place and someone here thinks Flacco is a pick machine. I'm hoping we lose the rest of our games for a shot a Bosa as our high draft pick. Next year Suggs and Perriman will be back and Ravens will be back in the playoffs. Oh, one caveat for the article - Ravens defense is pretty shot up too with Suggs out all year and the secondary is lousy.
  3. We're loaded more than the KCs and Minn's of the world and we just had a fan from Piss talking about their injuries this year but they're nothing compared to what the Ravens have lost - more starters than any other team. We're not getting blown out by anyone and all losses have come near the last play of the game including the Jags game. So I keep saying they don't need that much. I posted a link that called Brandon Williams one of the top pocket rushers of the game. We still have D. Smith and Mosley on the team and hopefully Suggs will be back. A Denver fan said the Ravens had the most stout defense we'll see for the rest of the year after they just beat us out there. We still have Jimmy Smith so we'll need a CB and could have a shot at one of the best 2 according to Mike's article above or one of the top 2 pass rushers. Put Bosa in the mix with Brandon and Jernigan and we have a good pass rush. I sure don't want a WR in the first round. Ravens have always been unlucky with them while Cindy and Piss has not but SR might come back and hopefully Perriman will be better so we can add another one in the latter rounds and or sign someone like we did with Mason and Boldin and SR. Ozzie will always take the best available player. Ernic Acorsi former Colts GM was the asst Gm under Joe Thomas during the Walter Peyton draft. Colts had a good RB in Lydell Mitchell so Thomas passed on Peyton and drafte a lineman. The rest is history as Walter became perhaps the best runner in history for the Bears. Acorsi said he got his masters degree in the draft on that one and built the Giants SB 35 team and their most recent SB teams before turning them over to Reese to win the SB. However, since their SBs they have falled on hard times because lately Reese has been drafting need instead of BPA. Ozzie will still draft the BPA which hopefully will be the top pass rusher or CB.
  4. Nah, he ain't that good anyway. What has he done and he's in a candy bar division, same as Matt Ryan and Marsha Brady. A lot of guys on the boards are saying QB if a top one is there but Ozzie will take the BPA not matter what. That's how he wins super bowls.
  5. And the head coach trusted his OC Matt Cav who pushed for Boller. He fell for the old throw between the goal posts from 50 yards on 1 knee trick. My dad said, that doesn't mean he can play football. LOL. He sure couldn't. Like I said, none of the top WRs drafted in TTs class made it. Both TT and Clayton were legit first round prospects. Clayton was college All American but we begged Ozzie to draft Roddy White instead of Clayton and Nicks instead of Oher. We win the SB that Lee Evans dropped. He wouldn't have been here and we win the 08 SB. Indy's GM said we would have won that SB with a blue chip receiver. All we had was a slot guy in Mason who kept it close in the first half and Manning pulled away in the second have. Oher got killed by Mathis while Nicks was the go to guy and here in their SB vs NE. The Ravens would have won at least 1 or 2 more SBs with either one. Like I said, luck has a lot to do with getting to the SB.
  6. Luck has a lot to do with it like the PO game in NE last year and Lee Evans game. See my last post above. Health had a lot to do with it like last year and this year. Ravens were picked to win SB this year before season started. Nobody has all the injuries Ravens have included two starters in one game on Sunday - the QB and RB not to mention their best D player for the year in Suggs, our WR for the year in Steve Smith, our Center in Zuttah and Dooooom for a while and JimmySmith had a rough going coming back early not to mention the o-line which has been banged up since camp with our LT out most of the year. And of course our #1 draft pick and speedy WR who has been out since day 1 of camp. We have absolutely no WRs and no one to throw to them except a beat up has been backup QB. He has a SB 35 ring as part of it plus all those POs and his own trophy afterwards. How many does Denver have since then (he destroyed their hopes out there with the mile high miracle play on the way to the SB with the QB his GM drafted that nobody wanted) , Dallas, Cinci, SF, ST Louis, Buff, Jets, Cleveland Cards, Dolphins, KC, Carolina, Atlanta with all those receivers and Ryan, Minn, OAK, Seattle, San Diego. Hmmmmmnn . We wouldn't trade our owner for any of those.
  7. People forget in the top rounds Ozzie always drafts the BPA. Whoever that is on his board will be the man at Ozzie's turn.
  8. LOL - His history disagrees with you with 2 SB trophies and 5 straight playoffs plus 6 of 7 and 3 more prior to the 5, he beats Pissburgh more than anyone and is 2-2 vs NE in the Playoffs and in Foxboro and in February. No other team can match that success except of course NE which had to cheat, bend the rules and use trickery vs a banged up defense to win the SB last year. We'll take him and to hell with the trolls.
  9. That's exactly what Ozzie did when drafting Boller. He also missed with 2 other first round picks - TT and Clayton. Nobody in their class did well that year including the best one. So you never know.
  10. He's spot on for once. A lot of guys hate him but he gets it right once in while. With a top 10 pick Ozzie has to draft defensive pressure, not WR, CB, RB or even QB with the first pick. It has to be a rusher to put pressure on the defense and there are two top pass rushers in the top 10. Suggs was the last pick when drafting in the top 10 and before that he drafted Bouleware and signed McCrary and then Adams. Ravens became a dominant team over the next decade winning 2 SBs and almost always getting into the POs w/o a blue chip receiver and hopefully we still have one in Perriman if he can come back and remain helthy. So there's two great pass rushers in the link Ravens might have a shot at but they will probably be gone. Then there's 2 great CBs to chose from. Ravens only need 1 draft to fix things which is what I've been posting. Ravens have always won with defense. DEFENSE BUILDS CHAMPIONSHIPS
  11. This article called Donald and Brandon Williams two of the best pocket rushers in the game. Donald edged out Mosley by 7 votes last year for DROY and is doing even better this year. Donald broke Forsett's arm while hitting him. Meanwhile, Brandon shut down the top RB in this year's draft, Gurley, to 2.6 yards pr carry while owning the line of scrimmage for the Ravens. Not bad for a 3rd round pick while Donald was top pass rusher in the draft taken high in the first round. Great drafting by Ozzie and Timmy Jernigan's from last year's draft had a big hit on a guy. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000585439/article/loss-of-flacco-forsett-overshadows-ravens-victory
  12. They'll have to sign a vet before the season like they did with Forsett but Buck and West will be good backups. Not enough experience for either one to start and theyre not explosive enough like Gurley.
  13. On the Forsett hit, it was last years DROY, Donald who broke his arm when he hit him. He beat Mosley out for the honors by just 7 votes but is playing even better this year while MOsley slumps but he has less tackles because of D Smith next to him tacking so many away. BTW, nfl.com called Donald and Brandon Williams two of the best pockett rushers in the game as Donald knocked out Forsett and Brandon held last year's best RB in the draft, Gurley, to 2.3 yards pr carry. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000585439/article/loss-of-flacco-forsett-overshadows-ravens-victory
  14. And Ravens will probably still win. The last time it took a bad call from the officials when their WR dropped the ball but scooped it up and it was called a TD which was the difference in the game. The next day at practice 80% of the team couldn't suit up due to injuries and they still took Cleve to OT the day before while injured.
  15. Right, thats what I said. NE should have the toughest schedule this year as the champs but have a much easier schedule. Pissburgh has it the toughest after losing the wild card game to Ravens. NE and Dallas both have had easy schedules the last two years but its now based on the record for them. That is the point.
  16. They're already doing that - giving them extreme physicals. The cases of Kindle and Perriman are extreme. They also have multiple interviews at the combine and later at the Castle. Now the Kindle interview should have ran up red flags all over the room when he was asked why he left the scene of an accident when he ran his car into the side of a bldg while texting in Texas. Kindle replied that it seemed to be the thing to do at the time. Thats a bad answer and he should have been written off then. Weirdly though, he had a strange sleep walking disase. Ravens knew that too but after he was drafted he took a walk while sleeping or he was drunk at a party and stayed at the house and took a wrong turn and fell down the steps and cracked his head but there were plenty of other red signs from Texas. A guy on another message board from there kept telling us a lot of things that happened to him and begged Ozzie not to draft him. But they do get extensive physicals from the best doctors in the country and have plenty of interviews. They interviewed Paul Kruger's brother twice last year and I thought they were going to draft him. He said they mostly sat around the table and talked about Paul and how much they liked him which was strange since they didn't even try to sign him and he bitched leaving about not getting enough snaps in SB47. Ozzie said it had something to do with 4 future HOFer around him but thes situation downs continued in Cleveland as well. He's a 2-down edge rusher and both the coach and GM that gave him $45M were fired. Ravens dont need more interviews just better interviews and reading the red flags like Kindles. They also bring in the ones they like for workouts.
  17. Granted, last year Ravens had 5th easiest schedule playing easy teams in both AFC and NFC but also had tough games in Indy and others. They also played the entire year with either one of the best CBs out or both at the same time. They started a new Safety as well and the not so hot former #1 draft pick - Elam. Ravens had more players on the IR list at one time than any other team and still made the POs and as mentioned above, NE had to cheat, bend the rules and use trickerly on a banged up defense which blew 2 TD leads - twice in second half with a CB who wasnt even playing football a week before the playoffs. They started an undrafted rookie at LT for the first time ever in a Wild Card game and won and used a 4th round pick, Crockett Gilmore to ice that game with a late TD on a crossing patter that fooled Squeelers for their first ever PO victory on the road in that town. They were expecting Ravens to run the board to go for the FG. NE had another easy schedule on its way to the SB. Dallas had the easiest. http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/4/23/5642204/2014-nfl-schedule-raiders-broncos-colts-panthers
  18. OK, talking about schedules, I found this schedule strength for this season and Ravens have 11th toughest schedule this year. Piss has the toughest at # 1. ugh! NE has 22th toughest after winning the SB. They're suppose to have the toughest Dallas which gets into the POs comes out with 24th toughest schedule so go figure. They are also the two glamour teams of the NFL so the league helps the out here. Last year they got the easiest schedule in the leauge based on the 2013 season. See link in next post. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25066031/2015-nfl-strength-of-schedule-steelers-at-no-1-falcons-at-no-32
  19. And you ignored the fact that this year the Ravens had the 2d toughest schedule in the league for the first 7 games. They went 2-5 for those games but lost each game in the last 2-3 mins, Sun's game in the last second and all by 1 play. After 7 games they were 5 plays and 15 mins from being a perfect team with all those guys in the hospital vs the likes of Denver, Cinci and Piss. Rebuild you say? ILMAO. That's what you dont understand. The schedule comes out by the league office and it's supposed to be based with the better teams getting the harder schedules and the worse teams getting the easier ones. In theory it gives the bad teams a chance to move up while the stronger get weaker but it doesnt work out that way because the NFL gives its favorite teams like NE and Piss easy schedules after winning SBs. Ravens boards did a lot of bitching over the years with the Squeelers easy schedules all those times while the Ravens constantly got harder ones.
  20. Cravn - Over on the West thread when you stressed he's just on the practice squad after I said Ozzie just got a 3rd rounder, I asked if anyone wanted to take bets on his making the team with all the injuries on it. Well, West is being called up to active duty now taking Zuttah's spot on roster as he is injured. He payed over 60 games w/o missing. Urshel is taking snaps who played well there for a few snaps last year. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Ravens-Center-Jeremy-Zuttah-Put-On-Injured-Reserve/3709fb66-af73-4317-88e0-9022d6dbab92
  21. Man, you think you got it bad. I lost my girl friend not to mention all that good sex and stuff and then she bans me from Looney's to boot so I can't watch the games in there with my friends. Then the Ravens go south on me so there's no escape mechanism. Damn, these are the worse 3 months of my life-lol.
  22. 3 great special Teams returns, that would have shifted field position dramatically, were called back due to ignorant, lack of discipline penalties. It's my fault. At the half I sent crav a text saying all the Ravens have to do is not turn the ball over, not commit stupid penalties and run the ball and they win. Stan White gets some blame too. In the 4th quarter, on the radio, he brought up the fact that the Jaguars hadn't won a road game in their last 587 games. Kiss of Death. The next to last play of the game was the most disgusting way to find how to lose. Time had run out IMO, and the only shot....THE ONLY SHOT! the Jags had was an unnecessary roughness penalty. Dumervil obliged dishonoring the #58 that he wore on Pete's big day back home. It's 1996, and this 53 man roster has no clue or guts or want to....... to play Ravens football. Just undisciplined slop. oops. double post. sorry
  23. Ravens have missed at least 3 SBs because Ravens didn't have a blue chip receiver. Ozzie does well in signing slot guys like Mason, Bolding and SR but not a true #1 WR. Someone said the D showed up? They must have left early because Elvis had the face mask penalty on the last play of the game putting enough time on the clock for the winning FG.

  25. More trolling comments but it was time for them to get a break. After Squeelers won the SB they got an easier schedule. After Ravens won SB 35 they were forced to open the season on the road in the Denver when the Champs always open at home. That was because of 911 but they still won. The Ravens have been one of the most dominant teams over the past 15 years and still made the POs last year after missing a year after making it 5 straight years. Yea, it was about time they got an easy sechule like Squeelers and NE always but they beat Piss in a land mark game with the first ever undrafted LT that ever started a wild card game and won. They iced the game with a late TD from another rookie who took the injured PItta's place at TE. Squeelers own fans said, imagine us starting a wild card game with an undrafted rookie. They won the game with their star Jimmy Smith out the entire year and most of the secondary. They started a DB in Piss and won with a guy who wasn't even playing football the week before. They just missed going to the SB last year and NE had to do all that cheating, trickery and bending of the rules with most of the secondary in the hospital, a patched up O-line, and only 2 weapons and that banged up defense gave up a 2 TD lead twice in the second half and you're saying we have to rebuild. Ravens still had a 10 win season to get in the SB easy schedule or no easy schedule and with most of the team in the hospital which you forget. It was about time they got an easy schedule. And you keep forgetting or dont know that your beloved NE is in an easy candy bar division with no competition every single year and the best QB and coach in the game and they still have to cheat the Ravens to get in to the SB. Like I said, just fix the secondary, get a LB that can cover, a guy to pressure the QB and a WR or two and this team is back. And drafting high for a change will help Ozzie get them. Ravens won all those years drafting at or near the bottom like Elam at the very bottom. You also omitted the fact of all the injuries this year which have attributed to our dismal season like Suggs and Elvis at one time, Pitta and Perriman (never), our 2 biggest weapons on offense this side of Steve Smith who is now down plus the injuries to the oline early on. SR would have scored that TD that Givens missed so we'd have one more win there. You also omitted the entire secondary being damaged last year but still got into POs with a banged up unit. No, the Ravens won't rebuild because they don't have to. No need to rebuild.
