Ditto on 2d. Ozzie won't trade down. He does that when there's nobody else on the board he wants like in the Kindle draft. He hasn't drafted this high since he got Jamal so he'll get another impact player this time too like a Ramsey or aTreadwell or a Staley at LT if KO leaves.

That was another year we should have another world championship trophy. It was the last game of the 1960 season and we only had to beat a lousy Lions team with a poor journey man QB named Earl Morrall. Even with all the injuries Colts kept it close and Unitas threw another bomb at the end to win it or so everyone thought. All the fans stormed the field, thousands of them and they were on the goal posts pulling them down. Only problem, there were still about 20 seconds left, just enough time for a kick off and one play. It took 20 mins to clear the field and kick the ball. Morrall, who would blow SB 3 as the Colts QB dropped back and threw a 5 yard pass to his WR who raced down the side line untouched for the winning TD. There were still fans up on the goal posts pulling them down and on the field. It was nothing but mass confusion but the fans physically lost that game for the Colts. People were seen walking down 33 rd street with long pieces of the goal posts-lol. A guy up our alley stuck a pole from a goal post in his back yard. lol True. Can anyone see that happening today with SAFE around there-lol. That's why the press called it the world's largest outdoor insane assylum.

Yea, Ameche got an achilles tendon just like Suggs this year but back then players never came back from them. Ameche could have but retired because his restaurant business was doing so well and he didn't like Weeb or more or less because Weeb hated Ameche. Rosey put Ameche and Gino in the fast food business. Berry hurt his knee in that game. I met him that year at a kids camp our church was associated with on the Severn River. Don Schinnick was the youth paster and brought Ray down to speak to us. I was 12 and thought I was tough shit walking up to Ray and said how's the knee sir. I already knew Schinnick.

They might have to draft the best LT in the game if KO leaves. He wants to stay and Ozzie wants to sign him at LT. The Ravens could opt for Treadwell, the WR from Mississippi. He would be there. With Dallas and Clowns looking for QB with party boy beging to leave, that leaves 3 CBs for Ravens to get with the 6th pick. Bosa who will probably be 1st player drafted plus Treadwell, the top WR in the draft, that leaves the 3 QBs from Florida State, Florida, Clemson on the board plus the best WR in the draft. Watch the Clemson game because he might be the guy. http://www.csnmidatlantic.com/blog/ravens-talk/ravens-have-no-6-pick-nfl-draft-options-VERNON-HARGREAVES-jalen-ramsey-joey-bosa

ILMAO - My math teacher said you can make anything you want of statistics. My 6th grade counselor told my dad I'd never go to college. I have the statistics here to show you. Six years later he became my counselor in college - good ole U of MD in college park. Goldie Hawn and Connie Chung hung out with me on Friday nights at the Student Union for mixers. Anyway so by increasing the number of games Joe played in to 10 the winning pct comes out a little lower and just a little lower than the other guys winning just 2 in 6 games. Not going by pct, Joe won 3 games which is more wins than the others and that is the point. Still laughing at resident troll.

A whole lot to discuss? That's what you heard? Tell us something we didn't know 82. LOL The plan is to smoke a couple of joints have have a couple of beers. Make that several of each. For anyone smashing Ozzie, how would you like Trent Baalke, 49ers GM whom Ozzie smashed in SB 47 plus the regular season game the year before. After running Jim HARBs out of town and promoting his crony he now fires him after 1 year while keeping his own job while Jim might have a national champion next year after doing so well this year. It's been a long time since Michigan did this well. There was a big feud between him and Trent so the owner sided with Trent. He must be sorry now. They lost 80% of their SB team to FA, retirements and what not and weren't replaced. All Ozzie needs is 1 or 2 more impact players like a CB and pass rusher from the edge and he's back in the SB. Ozzie has more SB rings and has won more over a longer period than Trent who is looking pretty stupid for letting Jim go and now for firing his hand picked guy after just 1 year.

Peace in the Valley. Man, these were 4 of the worse months of my life. Radio said Ravens lost 14 games by 1 play in the final minutes of each game. They just couldn't close them out. Guy said even with all the injuries they weren't the reason for the losses. Well, 80% doesn't help you win and with pro bowlers out like Suggs, Joe, Forsett plus all the others out. Hey 82 - Remember in 1960, Colts only had to win 1 of 4 final games to get into the POs. They beat Bears in Chicago but half their team was injured. A guy named Ball held Unitas by his arms while their DE Atkins came by and said just hold him there and I'll whack him and he did. It looked like a tag team wrestling match. Lenny Moore said Unitas should have died but still played. They stuck mud in his nostrils to stop the bleeding. He had a concussion and blood down his face. Then from his own 35 he throws a bomb to Lenny Moore who jumped over two DBs and caught the ball in the end zone for the game winning TD. Halas called it the greatest play he ever saw. He didn't even tell the refs that Moore should have been penalized for running out of bounds and then back on the field in front of their bench because the play was so good for football he let it stand. But that was the game Halas had a $500 bounty to knock Unitas out to break his record of most consecutive TDs. Ball and Atkins tried to collect the reward money but failed. We only had to win one last game but they beat up the Colts so bad they lost all 4 games. UGH!

Not really, I just shouted out CJ Mosley who made pro bowl as a rookie and just missed rookie of year by 7 votes. He slumped this year but he's still learning and his stats on tackles and interceptions are past Ray's at this stage in his career. Perryman will be back and if healthy he gives us an immediate and speedy receiver plus SR is coming back and Forsett will be back. The only real bust is Elam but as I always say every Safety taken at the top of the draft failed including Kenny Vacarro of NO who was suspended from the team in his second year. Eric Reid had the only good year of the safeties but like Mosley has struggled this year but the entire team was like us with 4 wins. Also, I posted a link that said Brandon Williams drafted in the 3rd round and Donald of Rams who beat out Mosley for Rookie of Year are the best pocket rushers in the game. Urban was just mentioned but he was drafted in lower rounds and so was KLM. Ozzie got someone name Guy. The Ravens webisite has a pic of him shutting down the Squeelers pocket from up the middle. Ozzie made the POs last year with a beat up secondary where he signed Melvin who wasn't playing football at the time but contributed to beating Pissburgh in the wild card game and for the first time Ravens ever won up there. Then they lost in NE but it took the best QB and coach in the game to beat him and with some cheating, trickery and bending of the rules. The defense blew a 2 TD lead - twice - in Foxboro and in February. Ozzie also drafted Gilmore who iced the wild card game cutting over the middle for a TD. Piss said they just expected Ravens to run the ball and kick a FG but Kubes wanted to win it there. Oz also drafted Jernigan who has played well on the line but is growing and he drafted KLM for the line but is raw and learning. He also got the juice and Allen was praised for taking over the RB chores at the end of the year after Forsett and Tally went down. Ozzie only needs a pass rusher, CB and WR as new parts and he'll get 3 of the top 70 players in the draft. Think about it, 2 SB teams win just 4 games 3 years later. Ozzie ain't going anywhere til he says it's time to go.
-
ILMAO @ FRITZ - No shit man and he'll have about 50% of the defense back so he won't have to remake it plus our speedy #1 draft pick this year plus our #1 draft pick from last year who was the first Raven to make the pro bowl as a rookie and signing Forsett after losing a pro bowl RB. He'll get his parts in the draft and sign someone but Bisciotti won't fire him next year either if they lose with all those guys in the hospital. HARBs but not Ozzie.

Not necessarily. Bengals are 10th in league with most CAP space with $32M. Marvin has drafted some pretty good talent. Now we know Mike Brown is the cheapest guy in town but he's been winning on the cheap with Marvin running the football side of the house. This year all teams get an increase to about - $150 - $153M. It has to do with the CBA clause that CAP spending has to meet the floor. NFL also has more money coming in from advertisers. NFL is getting close to spending $1B on players salaries but are still bringing in $9B in profits overall while MLB brings in $8B overall with an even higher payroll. Talk about $153M to spend on football players, the Dodgers spent over $200M on baseball players and still didnt' go to the series.
-
The CAP ceiling is supposed to be raised next year. Ravens saved $16M in trading Ngata but got $8M added to the CAP ceiling but it worked out. Oz also drafted Maxx and Z Smith as part of the trade with Detroit. So the dead money figure above isn't as much for Monroe as it was for Ngata. Of course there's more to be added from others leaving. I don't know with whom but it will work out because the Ravens are always just under the CAP while spending heavily. It's how OZ wins super bowls.

Cinci has a lot to play for - home field advantage. They'll be bringing their A game and they've been owning us a lot last few years anyway. They have our number. Someone has a tag line on all their posts that we've beaten Piss last 6 of 7 games plus 2 sweeps. Cinci been doing that to us.

LOL - The only way to stop Bengal WRs is to make them inactive
TBird replied to TBird's topic in Baltimore Ravens
He was only kidding, joking but still what kind of message is that sending the team? They're thinking what a prick. He doesn't think we can do everything. It's like your boss walking into your office and saying this office can't do anything. You'd all be upset. -
His defense blew two leads of two TDs in Foxboro in February. As banged up as they were and picked on with cheating, bending of the rules and trickery from the best QB in the game, Ravens still should have won. There was also Joe's pick that ended the game with Torrey Smith wide open. Had he thrown outside of the hash mark it would have been a TD. Fans still blame Torrey for not taking the ball away from the defender after Joe threw the ball directly to him. Joe was throwing to a spot and Torrey was no were near it. Again, it's on all coaching, same as Billick calling for McNair to throw in the pick and the Lee Evans drop. Someone forgot to tell him how to secure the football after catching it. Those were our two SBs and a couple of more giving Ozzie more rings that he doesnt have because the coaches blew the playoffs with all the talent he gave the.
-
More importantly, KO knows it too.
-
A pretty good 2014 season filled with some easy teams. Ravens still should have won the NE playoff game.
-
Jimmy was hinting before the season that PAGs might go because he missed a year because of leukemia or something - nice guy - and hasn't shown much, like going to the SB. ESPN had him at the top of the list for getting fired. HARBs wasn't on it. I don't hate him, just don't like him. I gave him credit above for going to th SB and winning it after firing CAM but he's done nothing since. Biscut will probably fire Pees and maybe Trestman but he hasn't been here long enough. HARBs probably gets one more chance - maybe.
-
So who did you want at LT at the time. Fat Mac got well fat but Ozzie won a SB with him. In that case, both Ray Lewis and Burke begged Ozzie to sign him. Both knew him well and Birk was a teammate in Minn. He had issues too like work ethics but when CAM was fired and Caldwell too his place he inserted MAC to LT, moved KO to LG and Oher back to RT and Ravens won the SB. Nobody mentioned Monroe's injuries when we signed him. Ozzie isn't perfect but there'd be 30 teams lined up at his door with open check books if he were fired. Anyway, I don't see how Ravens can afford KO aftter the year he's having and at LT.
-
He's up for free agency and has probably priced himself out of Baltimore's range. He'll be in demand after great season. He currently has been playing LT for the injured MOnroe but LG is his usual position. He wants to stay and credits Ozzie for encouraging him on the move to LT. He thinks a deal could be made and will be the LT next year if they want him too. Ravens have 3 years left with Monroe @ LT for $35M but he's been plagued with injuries the last 2 years. Ozzie sure can pick em. He just can keep em all. http://www.csnmidatlantic.com/blog/ravens-talk/osemele-could-be-playing-final-game-ravens-sunday

Just capitalizing it for fun. They asked me that on the other board but since then I've seen the Ravens site to capitalize it. I know they read these boards so maybe the picked it up from me-lol. Yea, you're right. HARBs best year was winning the SB because we lost all those games, then he fired CAM, replaced him with Caldwell who moved Oher back to RT, KO back to LG and inserted Fat Mac to LT and all they did was win after that but hes been down hill since. I don't have a clue but there's some good ones out there. Nobody heard of HARBs when we got him.
-
Chip Kelly? Only kidding. I dunno but they said same thing about Billick when we wanted to off him. Billick started off with a bang winning the SB but it was down hill after that til he lost the team in 07 and then to CAM so that doomed him. HARBs won a SB but hasn't been that great a coach like with what Tim said on the other thread, tons of probs with time management, challenging and other things that cost us important games. HARBs would be out of football a long time ago if he went to Buff or DET or Miami, a grave yard of coaches but those dudes never had Ozzie feeding them talent and both Billick and HARBs kept Ozzie from getting more rings by blowing the playoffs with all the talent he gave them. Billick would have won SB Indy got if he had just run Jamal in the 2d half who begged him to saying he could beat their out side linebacker. Instead he kept throwing and we lost the game with McNair's pick at the end. The entire Indy team knew where the ball was going and even left DEM WILLs alone in the end zone knowing the ball would be no where near him but the fans in the stands kept saying DEM WILLs was all alone, he was all alone. LOL. HARBs blew the Billy Goat SB for Ozzie with all that confusion on the side line and not telling Lee Evans to secure the ball after catching it. There were other games he should have won like the one in Pissburgh when Jen connected on 3rd and 19 with the WR holding on to the ball with one hand vs the side of his head as he ran out of bounds. The Squeelers SB vs Arizona was our SB. Coaches get stale after 8 or 9 years and you need a new one. Same thing happened to Shula here after arriving with a bang in 63 and then blowing SB 3 in 68 and he was gone in 69. He would have been run out of Miami a lot sooner if he didn't have Marino all those years but never won the SB with him. After 8 or 9 years you new a fresh face but some owners like Carroll Rosenbloom of the old Colts and Bisciotti have a knack for finding guys - HARBs off the special teams scrap pile and Rosey got Shula after Gino Marchetti recommended him. DET beat Colts twice that year and Shula's finger prints were all over their victories. He called Shula who was the d-coord with DET and asked if he was interested and he said hell yea. Rosey said you've been recommended. Shula didn't know who recommended til he got here and made Gino a player coach. Rosey also scored again in LA hiring Chuck Knox as head coach of Rams. Bisciotti would find someone good if he's finished with HARBs. He almost was the last time HARBs missed the playoffs. Here's Knox's stats. He was 12-2 with Rams couple of times and 10-4 the rest. Not too shabby. He had mostly winning seasons in Seattle. No SB rings but he didn't have Ozzzie feeding him talent either like HARBs. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/coaches/KnoxCh0.htm

Some beat reporter up there tweeted that HARBs might be interested in the job since Chip has been fired and HARBs has a lot of contacts there and with the Ravens on the down side but HARBs said it's not even part of the conversation. He told the guy twice there is no conversation. Finally, he apologized to Eagles fans and said he sent the tweet by mistake. Another LOL. I wouldn't be upset if he got that or another job. They can have him. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/John-Harbaugh-Wont-Coach-Philadelphia-Eagles/cdc838cf-e3bf-4bfc-87f1-b1aefb547218

Ozzie has 2 rings and should have a couple more if his coaches, both Billick and HARBs hadn't blown the playoffs with all the talent he gave them. Yea, he's in a rut but he is still the best. Oz is on fire to fix this team and wants one more ring before retiring. Fans keep forgetting or don't know that draft classes such as Elam where Ozzie did miss were not strong. Only one Safety of that class made it and that was Eric Reid of SF and I'm not sure he well he did this year. Their team sucks this year too, the same team Ravens played vs in their most recent SB just 3 years ago. You just leave Ozzie alone and fire some of the coaches like Pees. Bisciotti was pissed enough to fire HARBs the last time they missed the playoffs but wanted to be fair and was. There's no telling what he'll do this time but nobody is safe but Ravens might have saved HARBs job vs Squeelers.
-
Pissburgh just did it - they tanked it. Didn't even show up, same as Ravens in Miami in 07 and that got Billick fired but this game means nothing to anyone except in the draft order for the Ravens. Sunday's win may have saved HARBs job which is why you shouldn't tank it. You're professionals and get paid to win at the highest level but some things just can't be helped when you're in this situation. I'd be pissed if we dropped out of the top 10 in the draft order Sunday because 1 player with a top 7 pick like a CB or pass rusher could be all the difference in the world in getting back to the playoffs next year.
