  1. I'm sure that was tongue in cheek sarcasm. If not, You have got to be the worse Ravens fan in existence. Real Ravens fans would never say that, not even in sarcasm. Real Ravens fans say Fuck em.
  2. Then I wrote a bad review on the joint and they're really pissed at me now. He lets Squeelers fans in with the Ravens fans watching the games. That's like throwing a match on a gasoline tank. BOOOOOOM
  3. Ditto on the liars luncheon. They're all BS. Billick taught them well in Billick speak-lol. All their pressers are like that especially at draft time. DeCosta goes around to all the clubs before the draft and they ask him and he said yea, I love him, I like him. Here's my wish list but they're the top 20 in the draft so nobody knows who they are going to draft and neither does Ozzie til he turns the card in. He never dreamed he'd get JO and Ray in his first draft ever or Joe and Rice in that draft. Phil Savage told us at the Barn with Nasty that I see a lot of jerseys with names like Heap, Ray, Jamal and JO on them. We didn't know they would be the stars they became when we drafted them. We hoped they would but we had no guarantees or even hints that they would become as great as they did.
  4. Speaking of which, the injuries kept us out of the last 2 SBs. It took the best QB and heach coach in the game and a lot of cheating and trickery for NE to beat a banged up secondary with Melvin who wasn't even playing football 3 weeks before and in NE and in Feb. Before this season started SI and Peter King predicted Ravens would win SB 50 because they had the most talent on paper. But what about next year. If Ravens draft, say Treadwell the best WR in the game will he go down with an injury like Perriman this year and will Perriman come back next year. Back to Maxx, he'll be better next year and will bulk up as HARBs says. Just think of Maxx with the likes of Treadwell, Perriman and SR. Joe will have his weapons.
  5. Thanks, man. I got banned from the local water hole up here for throwing Squeelers fans out of the place-lol.
  6. I just looked it up. Just like I said, Rogers is making more at $121M to Joe's $120M and there's several others like Matt Ryan, Eli Manning and Big Jen and Cam Newton ahead of Joe. Roger's guarantee is $54M to $29M for Joe. Rogers gets $22M this year and $20M for Joe. That's over $1M pr game. All those teams had to pay out to keep their QB. Ravens had no choice but to give in on their demands. http://overthecap.com/position/quarterback/
  7. Without looking it up Aaron Rogers got a bigger contract that Joe. Joe was the richest QB for about one week-lol. Don't know what his cap hit is but he got more than Joe. Im not sure but I think KAP did too.
  8. Ozzie said they do need receivers. It's under weapons needed on the front page of their web site. Everything they said is here. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/
  9. Bisciotti called this one. He said this comes from the experience in the company he started. It adds continuity and stability. It's how he earned over $1B. Ravens have had only 1 GM and 3 coaches since Ravens came here. He doesn't want to fire anyone just for the sake of it. Pees did as well as he could with what he had. Ten games were lost in the last minute with one play. That said, the Pissburgh game probably saved his job the way they played and won with so little talent. His entire comments on it are on the site - right hand coloumn. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/
  10. NO, DON'T LEAVE. JUST IGNORE TROLLS. THEN HE HAS NO ONE TO TALK TO.
  11. Really? That's what it was - explaining? ILMAO You need to explain it to Goody since he's the one who always loses in court and he's a lawyer and isn't up on procedure as much as you. ILAMO
  12. Nicky Boyle is the best blocker on the line. He's an animal.
  13. Yea, yea, Good boy but he still got whacked and then settled - this time out of court.
  14. UM Sporty - I don't have your time to read the entire CBA. Goody didn't know it either and he's a lawyer who gets paid to know such things (and he's always getting over-turned in court) and he suspended him twice and was just over ruled based on the article you just posted. ILMAO. Ravens suspended him once and then released him after the vid and still it stands. That's double jepardy too. So Rice actually got whacked 4 times (twice from Ravens, twice from Goody) for 1 offense and then was black balled from getting back in.
  15. LOL @ corporate wellfare.
  16. He can't be suspended twice by the commish who suspended Rice twice and the Ravens once for a total of 3 times. He suspended her the first time for a certain number of games and then indefinitely the second time after the vid came out. Her wording is precise that the commissioner cannot suspend a player twice for the same crime. That doesn't mean an owner of a team can't suspend his employee also. Ravens suspended him then NFL for 2 games and then indefinitely after the vid cam out and Ravens dismissed him. Judge ruled double jeopardy in the NFLs case of 2 suspensions but your point is well taken and Baddall might be snake bit to suspend Nicky Boyle after Ravens just did. The rest of the country wanted tougher measures taken vs Rice and didn't feel Baddy was strict enough. _____________________________________________________________ Goodell suspended Rice indefinitely on Sept. 8, shortly after a video of the assault surfaced. The commissioner had previously suspended Rice two games for the incident, prompting a fierce outcry from critics who said the league did not take domestic violence seriously enough. In her ruling, which brought new scrutiny to Goodell's oft-criticized handling of player discipline, Jones called the second, indefinite suspension “arbitrary.”
  17. Boyle is on the hot seat after getting suspended by the team the last 4 games. The NFL will probably suspend him too but he was my favorite Raven - mean and tough looking. He just looked like a football player.
  18. I wanted him when he was projected in the 1st round before he dropped. He'll be a great one before it's over - even better than Gilmore.
  19. He had 58 yards on 11 catches in Cinci finishing on a high note. He had 268 yards for the year. BTW, that's the best any rookie TE did for the Ravens including Heap and Pitta and Ravens won a SB with Pitta and a ton of playoff games with Heap. Maxx also moved the chains gaining 11 yards in at least 11 of 16 games. That was written up in his scouting reports that he is a chain mover. It was doubted how much he could score in the red zone and his size dropped him from the first to second round. He's only 21 and hasn't bulked up yet. HARBs loves his toughnest and says Maxx is his kind of guy (TE). He said guys bounced off of him, he didn't bounce off anyone and scored a TD jumping over a guy after running over two guys in his season high light vid. That said, Cinci didn't exactly bring their A game still winning it so they probably let up but once Maxx bulks up the rest will come as he'll run over even more people while moving the chains and being a big target in the red zone for the TDs. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Maxx-Williams-Ends-Rookie-Year-On-A-High-Note/d02701ba-8e61-4878-8376-3cdcc232613f
  20. No toughie for me. I always root for Pissburgh to lose unless beating someone, say like Cinci means we back into the playoffs but that's the only reason. I hate em so much. I'd like to see Cinci go all they way. They've never won and haven't been to the SB since the 80s I think. It would be great for the division to have 3 SB champs in it. Same with the Skins. I can't believe they made the POs but Ravens didn't but it looks like Boy Wunder finally has a GM and head coach he can live with and stay out.
  21. I've been saying Ravens D let up since Rex left, at least most of the time. They sure didn't blitz like Rex did except at the end of SB 47. In his finest coaching ever, HARBs said he kept calling up to Pees to keep blitzing and blitzing at the end of the SB. He remembered how Eagles won in the last play of the game in regular season and how Skins came back and tied it in regulation and then win it in OT. So on the last play of the game for SF, HARBs has Ellerbe blitzing from the left side which forced KAP to over throw to a covered Crabtree on the right. KAP just threw it over everyone heads. Thanks HARBs. We don't win SB w/o telling Pees to leave the foot on the gas. I was just hoping to get Pagano back as D-COORD next year with him being so tight with HARBs but Jimmy ruined things for me once again signing him when everyone thought he was gong to fire him. PAGs was the one who figured out what to do with Kruger the Beast after he did nothing for 3 years. He just played him 2 downs per game and he's still just playing 2 downs per game and still just bitching about it-lol. Teams always run by him and Ravens would have lost SB 47 if they let Kruger play the entire game. SF would have kept running by him til the end. I hate that Irsay.
  22. No because the QB won't be the best player on the board. One of the stud CBs will be there as might Treadwell after Bosa and Ramsay are gone but the QB should be gone to Dallas or Cleveland before that. That still leaves Treadwell and 2 of the stud CBs. Ozzie would take the BPA then. That said, a lot of fans want the QB from Memphis in the draft and off Joe. He's been inconsistent since he got his SB ring and that huge salary and CAP hit. If he's the BAA I could even see Oz drafting the guy from Memphis if he is there but won't be. That said, in the Ravens first draft everyone wanted Lawrence Phillips the great RB from Nebraska who was arrested during the season for beating up his girl friend. Art wanted him too but Phil said do you want a guy who will wake you up in the middle of the night to bail him out of jail or do you want a guy who will let you sleep every night. ILMAO at the Ravens first draft party at the Sheraton down town when everyone in the room booed Ozzie for drafting JO instead of Phillips. I knew Oz was taking JO because he was the best player in his entire draft like Ngata was and Joe was and Ray were like so many others. The rest is history but that said there was the C-MAC and Starks drafts where C- MAC was a need and the BAA who fell because he stole a Credit Card but Oz took him and he wins the SB right away. Randy MOss was on the board when Oz took Starks but 20 teams let him drop because of baggage, yet Starks got Ozzie to the SB because he needed a DB and he sealed the SB with the INT and TD icing the game. Heap dropped because teams usually didn't draft a TE high in the first round. Ozzie took him at the bottom of the first and won a lot of games with him. He also got Hartwell and the big Guard in that draft, can't remember his name. Joe and Rice were certainly the BAAs at their positions in their drafts in Ozzie's second most greatest draft in NFL history. You remember all the maneuvering Oz did. Oz was #10 or 11 on the board that year. He wanted Joe bad but not that high so he drops to the bottom were joe was supposed to go saving the owner millions. Then he hears that Gruden and the Jets wanted Joe so he trades back up with his pal the Shack and just in front of Gruden to grab Flacco. Gruden is pissed as hell and shortly out of football but Ozzie saved Bisciotti a ton of money moving around so much on the board for the BPA of the entire draft. That said, Ozzie reached for Boller in his draft but came out with Suggs who was the best player and one of the greatest OLBs in history. Remember the 13 second call Oz made to turn his card in for Leftwich in that draft but didn't get it in by the deadline because Jags tied up the phone and so they got Leftwich. Minn took too much time and were pissed as Jags jumped in front for the QB. I asked Phil Savage at the barn with Nasty if Ozzie really made that 13 sec call and he said yea. I was sitting next to him. I said why didn't he try to deal earlier and Phil said because he knew he was either getting Leftwich or Suggs. Bingo - the BAA - Suggs who turned out to be one of the greatest NFL players ever and is still playing at a high level minus a torn achilles tendon. Suggs was the one Ozzie wanted all along. He knew he was the best. I don't believe he made a call but then he reached for Boller giving Bellicheat his 1st pick for the following year who turned out to be Wolfork who hurt us a lot winning a lot of games for NE and don't bet the he wasn't the BAA for NE. He would have been our #1 pick in 04. UGH Suggs dropped because of a poor 4 time. Phil was at that workout at ASU and when his time dropped, Phil called Ozzie and said Suggs just dropped to us because of the poor 40 time costing Suggs millions. Make no mistake about it, Ozzie wanted Suggs but also needed a QB and tried to deal for Leftwich. Speaking of the best available athlete theory, Tom Coughlin just stepped down in the classiest way to get fired ever. Anyway, his demise was prompted for not taking the BAA. Reese became the new GM after Ernie Acorsi retired as GM and built that Giant team for Reese when he took over. Reese won 2 SBs with Acorsi's team. Acorsi is from Baltimore and was the GM who gave Bellicheat's his first pro job when Acorsi was the GM of the Colts back in the 80s. George Young built the Giants SB teams of the 80s and promoted someone name Parcells as head coach when he fired Ray Perkins a former Baltimore Colt in SB 3 and Namath's primary target at Alabama. So after Reese took over he went against drafting the BAA. Acorsi built those two SB winners for him by taking the BAA. Acorsi said he got his Master's degree in the draft when he was an assistant GM under Joe Thomas of the Colts. Thomas who built Shula's great Dolphin teams before he got there and rebuilt the Colts with Bert Jones and the Sack Pack left someone name Walter Peyton on the board and drafted an O-lineman who was great but Peyton became the greatest runner in NFL history. Then Irsay traded the Elway pick for another lineman but Acorsi said he learned from Petyon you always draft the BAA or BPA. The Colts had a good RB so Thomas didn't think he needed another one. You never leave the best player in history much less the draft on the board and everyone knew Peyton was great. Enter Reese of NY after Acorsi retires. He goest to drafting need instead of the BAA. He took Beckham with some of the other great defenders on the board. Now nobody complained but he's the best WR in the game but NY needed defense and plenty of studs were there. Beckham didn't win many games for NY. They only won 6 his first year because of all the holes on defense. Before that they took an o-linemen instead of the BAA. They've had several losing seasons since their SB trophy because Reese has gone from drafting the BAA which is how Acorsi built those two SB teams as he learned from the Peyton draft and Coughlin just lost his job.
  23. Your Hiney, I mean Hineous: Could you be gracious and thoughtful and kind and courteous enough to do me a favor and the board and start a draft thread. That way we can keep a lot of the names on the board in one place and we can post scouting reports. Also, the combines come up and we will need a thread just for that to post the numbers they do on times and who the Ravens interview. We already have some names and scouting reports on the Ravens will draft a CB stud thread posted below. Can you merge those comments to a new thread on the draft and stick it up there. ______________________________________________________ Alexander for Clemson is a stud. Only a RS Sophomore, but before the season he declared himself the best corner in college football. If he has a good game he leaves IMO. Hargreaves had a great regular season (including shutting down Treadwell) but has struggled in the postseason (SEC Championship against Alabama and Citrus Bowl against Michigan). Yes, two games doesn't make a player. And Flordia's offense was terrible so the defense had a lot of pressure. However, if we draft him we will rely on him to cover the likes of Antonio Brown and AJ Green. And the Ravens offense is sure to go flat at times putting pressure on the defense. Ramsey would be my first choice, the kid is a stud, playmaker and plays like a Raven. Trash talker, plays with a lot of swag. He will be long gone by 6 IMO. Even if a team drafts him to be a safety, he's that good. Treadwell is my second choice. As TS said in another thread, Treadwell excels in the redzone. We've struggled in the redzone. The TDs Treadwell would give us equate to wins. Think AJ Green last Sunday on the corner end zone catch. Not many receivers who can impact a game with a catch like that.
  24. Here's an old article and Ozzie quote on trading when you're on the clock. Mosley was the one the Ravens coveted but Mack was the best player there that year and Ozzie wanted him bad. So did OAK drafting above him. OAK stayed put and drafted him but not w/o entertaining and considering offers from Ozzie. However, they coveted him too and kept the pick. Both just lost out for DROY to Donald of the Rams with 11 sacks or so. Ozzie merely says no matter where you are on the draft board, if there's someone that can impact your team you go after him and try to make an offer. It worked for Ngata but not Mack. Ozzie said last year that there was nobody left in the first round after Perriman and would have traded down. Kiper had Perrimen as #15 on is board and Ozzie had him #17 on his. That's the way it was. I wouldn't mind Treadwell and if Perriman comes back with Sr's return we can compete vs Antonio and A.J. But I'd love Ramsey. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/bs-sp-ravens-draft-day-trades-0426-20150426-story.html
  25. That was just a case where Phil wanted something for trading down according to Byrne's report on the matter years ago. Phil was on the board and Ravens were due up and Eagles just below them. He knew they both wanted Ngata who turned out to be the best player in the draft that year and won a SB for Ozzie and 5 straight play offs. Phil didn't go by best available player as Oz does. He went for a need (and was out of football not long afterwards), a linebacker but knew he was giving up the best player in the draft so he calls Ozzie and says how about a deal. I can draft Ngata. Ozzie called his bluff and said just draft who you want to draft so Phil says oh come on Oz, I'm doing you a favor. How about at least a 6th. Byrne said Ozzie looks over a DeCosta who knods his head telling him it's a good deal with who's on the board which was Budkey who went after Ngata to Eagles. So Oz says OK. DeCosta also told that story to Nest 1 and said he was surprised Ozzie went for it and said I gotta hand it to Phil. He got an extra pick out of it that Ozzie wouldn't have given up but he wanted to squeeze Eagles out of Ngata and gets a SB ring.
