  1. No he can't and couldn't the last time that question was asked and it was pointed to him that NE is in an easy division with no competition and has the best QB and coach in the game.
  2. Yea, their offense is so good an Admiral said they could wipe out the entire Chinese navy in less than a week.
  3. I don't know what all you guys are bitching about. Mallet threw the longest TD pass to Manningham in Michigan's history and he was a back up Brady not that long ago when they needed one. Statement made with tongue firmly in cheek. LOL Me thinks some people here don't know what cap hell means. The Ravens aren't in this situation because of cap hell but 80% of the team and 100% of their skilled players on offense are in the hospital. I posted two links before the season started, one from SI and the other from Peter King that predicted Ravens to win SB 50. On paper they had the best team but bad things happened since then that had nothing to do with the cap. And speaking of which, Ozzie made a great move trading an old Ngata saving $16M in salary. Now that would have kept us from getting someone, maybe Mallet. Yea, he still has a $8M hit in dead money but it would be $16M and Ngata has done nothing in Detroit and was placed on injured reserve when the season started. The two picks he got from Detroit were Maxx Williams the TE and Z. Smith ILB. Both have played frequently. Z has one sack and Maxx has 1 TD. If you want to point the finger point to the CBA where players won a victory by doing away with 2 practices in pads per day in summer cap. There's a reason for the hard work there and that will prevent injuries. Slowing down to one practice pr day may have caused some of these injuries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Mallett
  4. Thirty teams are hoping so. They'll be lined up at his front door with open checkbooks. The division rivals hope so too.
  5. Maxx is 21. He was red shirted in college so he only played 2 yrs of college ball and had the speed to get open down field and be a mis match. However, his combines time in the 40 was 4.77 and that dropped him out of the first round. Here's an old scouting report on him which says he should contribute as a rookie and is good insurance if Pitta doesn't return. Well, he didn't impact while playing frequently. His stats are: 19 receptions for 168 yards and 1 Td Nicky Boyle from whittle bittle Delaware had almost the exact same stats. 18 receptions for 153 yds and 0 TDs I was surprised with Nick and disappointed with Maxx. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/cfb/133486/maxx-williams
  6. He had nobody at the skilled positions to work with. About 80% of this team is in the hospital.
  7. John Sandusky said on radio after the game that Clausen did as well as could be expected. The Ravens had no players at the skilled positions at all and he still got 250 yds or something. He only had two weeks to study the offense and pick things up.
  8. Joe's still young. It's not like he's Steve Smith's Jr's age who is trying to come back next year. He's never been out before. Joe isn't 22 anymore but he's not 32 either. When I broke my shoulder at 57 the surgeon said I was still young to have surgery on it but if I were a few years older it wouldn't be feasible. Joe is a tough kid who took a lot of hits never getting injured except once in Detroit but still played with a brace on his knee. He will return. I wouldn't be surprised to see them draft a QB in the first round to groom for the future.
  9. He's a real student of the game? LOL That reminds me back in 65 when they made Tom Matte the instant QB after Unitas and Quozzo-sp went down. Shula put him in because he knew he played a little QB at Ohio State. So Shula called Woody Hayes and asked if Matte could play QB in the pros and Woody said Tom is the most politest kid I ever had here Don. Shula said cut the shit Woody. I'm trying to prepare for the Packers. Can Matte play QB in the pros and Woody said yea and Matte did well. He won game after game mostly running. He said he was never afraid of football til he became the QB-lol. Shula brought in a journey man QB to back up Matte named Brown, I think it was. He played QB in college on Gino Marchetti's team so Gino recommended him and Shula signed him. The was one play where Shula wanted to throw so Brown threw a TD to win the game. It took a fake FG by the Packers to keep Matte from the world championship in 65. The Colts led but at the end GB kicked the FG for the win. The kicker was so sure he didn't make it he kicked the dirt in disgust but heard all the people yelling and screaming and said WTF? Then he saw the officials with their arms raised. The kick was good. The kicker knew it wasn't and couldn't figure it out. John Steadman had a pic of the ball being 10 ft wide with the officials arms raised and he was going to publish it in his paper. The commish heard about it and asked him not to so he didn't and Rozelle owed Steadman a big favor. Steadman did put it in his book FROM COLTS TO RAVENS 35 years later. Matte just missed the 65 championship game but they had the playoff bowl in Miami back then for the runner up teams which were Baltimore and Dallas that year. Shula was on the side lines watching Matte over throw all his receivers during pre-game practice with Tex Schram-sp, their great GM. Dallas was an upstart and upcoming team in 65. Finally the game started and Matte beat the Boyz by 30 points and Shula was criticized for running up the score and embarrassing the NFL but he had a point to make. He believed that GB game was fixed because they didn't want a 2d string backup for RB as the starting QB in their big game. Shula said to hell with everyone and embarrassed Dallas. Baltimore always had their number, even with the Colts and even now. Matte also beat Landry's famous flex defense which was revolutionary and how Dallas got there. Shula laughed all the way home because Matte didn't even know what a flex defense was and beat them by 30 points.
  10. Exactly. He's still young and never has been injured before. He'll train hard to come back in Sept but he'll be rusty and miss the entire pre-season.
  11. This is just a bad year for everyone. It has to get better next year. Can't go anywhere but up from here.
  12. I expect Boyle to pass Maxx on the depth chart if given the chance. Ravens will have 3 good TEs.
  13. Yes indeed. That's why I was so disappointed with Boyle. He was my favorite rookie, a big tough mean looking football the way you're suppose to be. NFL will also suspend him in the beginning of season but hopefully he learned his lesson. He's made a couple of big catches. Maxx Williams as the article states has played frequently but hasn't done much yet but there is a lot of potential for both these guys. Maxx made a big catch and jumped over a guy for a TD in a recent game.
  14. He's easily Ravens OROY filling in for Forsett he has gained 118 yards and 16 receptions in last 2 games. He has grade A lower body power which allows him to be shifty and move in and out of traffic. The rest of the Ravens rookie class hasn't done well including #1 pick Perriman and # 2 Maxx Williams and Z. Smith for starters but it takes 3 years to judge a draft. Some fans think Buck was drafted for his receiving more than his running. http://russellstreetreport.com/2015/12/10/tale-of-the-tape/shifty-buck-allen-javorius/
  15. Don't forget the Jags game where Doooom was called for face masking on last play of game. Ravens were celebrating the win but Jags got the ball back and kicked 50 yard FG to win it. REplay clearly shows Doooom did not face mask him and the league office admitted it. That's two recent losses to the Refs. Mike and Mike were more livid on the call than HARBs but said since both teams are bad, NFL will sweep it under the rug.
  16. REally. In addition to being the Ravens lead stand-up comedian with his antics on and off the field he's a professional opera singer. Go to Ravens site for pic performing at a Catholic Charity event. Anyone remember Hauska? He's on the top 4 list. He was a journeyman kicker ala Billy Goat and blew a simple kick in Minn that killed our playoff chances and was run out of town. He still bounced around til he landed in Seattle and won the SB ring. Well, we wouldn't have Tuck if Hausk and Goat hadn't blown those kicks Gano is the other one whom the Ravens cut in favor of Hausk and that pissed me off at the time. I wanted Gano and he is doing well now after bouncing around including the CFL. Shayne Graham is the 4th on the list. In addition to those kickers we have probably the best punter in the game. HARBs credited the special teams coach and scout for bringing them all in. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Seahawks-Steven-Hauschka-Hails-From-Ravens-Kicking-Tree/6e6b7d41-bf14-4100-adf9-e19354764484
  17. Not vs the Clowns.
  18. Yea, I remember that one and was there with all the empty seats when they finally won it sitting in club level section 222. Tics then were $200 for the PO game. Last year they were $400. The next day, all the boards were calling guys pussies for leaving early when they were losing. Some fans just got disgusted with the offense which was really bad in those days with no Flacco. Marcus Robinson was pretty good and was open all day in the 03 playoffs but that same Wright couldn't get him the ball because he was injured. Ray was injured too as they say Eddie George got his balls back that day running past Ray and over an under-sized line. That game is more memorable because Tenn won the 03 playoff game in the final minute with a FG vs a banged up defense and QB who couldn't throw. Billick's teams sure knew how to fight until he lost the team in 05 and 07.
  19. At this point in the season, who cares. We're better of losing so we can get the top pass rusher or CB in the draft.
  20. Are you sure he was a Raven? I never heard of him. LOL No big loss, unlike Boyle getting suspended for 4 games. Bring in the Seattle guy I say.
  21. Well, that's what you get for drafting someone from whittle bity Delaware. He must have felt he needed it. He was my favorite rookie. Radio said Joe played last 2 games with injured shoulder and is getting MRI but his knee is being operated on today - I think.
  22. Same here. When my gal left she left some certain pics in my iPod to have fun with-lol. Tell CAT Air Flacco is over here now after getting banned. We could use another poster here and everyone would like him. He's a mod huh? He'd tell you I didn't deserve to get banned and had guys jumping all over me and one in particular. I kept trying to meet up with him in person but they never do they're such cowards so a new mod didn't like me calling him coward all the time and the guy from Houston Mr. MoM all the time but only after they insulted me first. Ask him about things and you hang around here too. We need input from around the division.
  23. Exactly. We were done by the 2d game with all the injuries. It was the OAK game long before Forsett got injured. We were like 1-4 before Forsett went down. Bengals are 10-2 in first place. Not bad.
  24. BTW, here's hoping the Bengals go all the way. Would be good for the division to have a SB champ. What's with Bengals always being 1 and done in playoffs?
  25. LOL - Well said my Bengals friend, well said. That's why we call them the Clowns. There was a guy on another Ravens board called Cinci Cat. Do you know him? Everyone liked him. As far as a broken spirit, I fell asleep during the game and took a nap yesterday. We were losing 15-3 at the time. Woke up and the game was over and we almost won. Glad I was sleeping. But like I always say, what did we do on Sundays for 12 years w/o football?
